  • I share the reason for breakdown given to me. This can happen to Tata Safari and Tata Harrier both. As of this video it has been 15 days and will take another week it seems by the service center.
    How has my service experience been with Tata Motors? How much time it should take to receive spare parts?
    Tata Safari 2022 top model price is around Rs. 29 Lakhs on road in many places in
    India. At this price range a customer expects certain customer service experience. Tata Motors needs to improve their spare part availability and inventory.
    Breakdowns happen with all cars but the way it is addressed is what matters. Mahindra Scorpio N, XUV700 and there are other competitive products in market, but service is hit and miss these days.

    Am also Safari owner and have already taken extended warranty while purchasing the vehicle in January this year. Also done Golden AMC too last month well before completing 15k kms. Would recommend this to all Safari lovers and prospective customers.

    Purchased the same "desh ka loha" car after going through multiple reviews, including yours.
    But have been counting defects and quality issues both in product and service ever since. Paint quality is bad with paint bubbles in many places. Fit and finish is absolutely substandard, already hearing squeaks on door panels.
    After first service, car came back with "engine check" light on and had to send it back to workshop.
    Started on first long drive this weekend and had to head to workshop after driving just four Kms because "engine check" light lit up again. Trip got delayed by nearly 5 hours with elderly parent traveling along.
    Had a small "tin ka dabba" before, but at least the car served for 11 years without any trouble, even long trips of 1000 plus Kms..
    Especially after paying such a huge premium for a so called Flagship Vehicle of Tata Motors, I am feeling totally let down. Fear always lurks, whenever I start travel as to what trouble is waiting for me next.

      I understand and get what you are experiencing.
      But, some of the things you have mentioned could have been inspected in PDI. Or in showroom the car must be in display. So you got what you saw.
      Engine checklight automatically goes away in sometime, you have to adjust to the Tata way of life 😅 taking things lightly a bit.
      I would still say what happened in my case in a rare exception of breakdown. But yes, bits and pieces issues can spoil your mood.
      But, in my opinion you are probably fearing a bit too much. You should be fine.

      My current opinion is based on my short experience ever since I bought the vehicle couple of months back.
      Hopefully, I would have changed my opinion few months down the line. Fingers crossed.

    Kharab Petrol ki wajah se Mere Dad ke Swift ko bhi problem aaya tha... Problem next day hi aa gaya tha Gari start hi nahi ho raha tha.... Isliye main generally Road Trip pe City ke andar ke fuel pump hi prefer karta hun and Bill bhi leta hun unse... But Thank you sir... Getting lots of inside related to Safari...

    I already purchased extended warranty last year after almost 2-3 months as safari is our 15/16 (since 1990) family car. from our bottom of our heart was constantly telling us that BETA LELO EXTENDED WARRANTY 😅
    I paid 36k. For another 3 years (2+3). Paid 3k extra as I didn’t bought extended warranty with car.
    Actually kuch car me andar se feeling ati hi he ke extended warranty leni chahiye same feeling VW me bhi ayi 😜
    Kya bolu sir zindgi me abhi sab extended warranty pe hi chal raha he 😔

      Yes we have ritz(12years) chevy optra magnum (14 years) accent (13 years) eon(8 years) but usme kabhi ye wali feeling nahi ayi
      Aaj bhi ye sab chal rahi he without extended warranty 😅

      Bhai hamari bolero main 2l km running hone wala hai almost 9 years hogaye usme ye problem aajtak nhi ayi na hi kabhi extended warranty ki baat choro warranty ki bhi zarurat nhi pari but abhi maine bhi book karwayi hai safari 2023 xz+ gold edition 6s but abhi dar lag rha hai ki lu ya na lu abhi lag rha hai ki wapas se bolero hi le leta hu no jhanjat no tension very reliable and very happy.

    All will be fine sir. Try to escalate on twitter i know being a Tata User this will be the wrong gesture to bring this issue on social media. But we are consumers and we have paid for the product with our hard earned money for it so we have rights to speak up nothing wrong in it. Tag issue with higher official of TAta motors

      My point is why should a normal customer be required to escalate in first place, why can't they get good service by default. So many occasions had thought of escalating on some many minor and easily solvable issues over the last year.

      @@TheSafariTraveller that’s the problem of Tata cars that most of time car is in service centre Rest you said is correct .And even if you escalate they don’t take it seriously. Aaj Tin ka dabba hee jaam aaya. I believe Maruti would have not bothered you.

      The after sales service of tata is the worst in all service stations in Pune, tata is a great company and their cars are also excellent but the only thing which is going to bring them down is their service, the behaviour of the service centres staff and management and the quality of work they provide and the treatment they give to the customers who are there to get their car serviced is horrible in pune and so i have to give my car for servicing in mumbai.

    I have my safari delivery on 26/09..really fearful of taking the delivery now.. I'd rather go for crysta or alcazar (pathetic options vs safari, I know) .. really confused!!

      TBH with a heavy heart i have decided to test drive MG Hector plus tomorrow.. jab India wale nahi bana pa rahe sahi gaadi aur sahi service fir chahe woh chinese brand se hi kyu na mile..

      @@kaps336 If you want peace of mind and good resale value and real comfort, go for Innova Crysta...otherwise all are just same...I'm myself Tata Safari top model 2022 owner...and there are imperfections and fit and finish related issues in Safari....But if you want features, looks etc, then Tata Safari is good!

      @@chetanvyas1759 thanks man! Any opinion on hector plus? Was just looking at the reviews on RUclips..it's a fully loaded vehicle..unlike safari (which has halogen headlight, no in-built ambient light, no wireless android auto, no diffuser etc)
      Plus, not to forget petrol engine..in Delhi NCR we have this 10/15 year restriction

    @safari traveler, really sad too see this. Even had bad experience with service Center. Turbo charger has manufacturing defect and they replaced after 2 weeks and they damaged my car in service :( and got steer 3 weeks

      The point is defects need to be fixed FAST. I am OK with few bad lemons as a customer. But need quick solutions and customer support.

    Jab mera clutch plate burn hua tha meine b sochaa tha ki mein gaadi nye lunga..par still safari ke takkar mein muje dusri gaadi milli nhi

    I don't think it is an actual problem for Tata cars , it is well much expected in Tata cars . Its quite normal.
    Is you buy tata cars , should be ready economically physically mentally for that .

    My grandi10 gear box got changed and I can say Hyundai service is very pathetic. It took then almost 2 months to change it. Even for small things like denting painting or even for front bumper it took them almost month. So for many people don't always tata service is bad. Every company have same status

      I agree, Tata alone is not guilty. Even other brands can be tricky to deal sometimes. But % of bad experiences seem to be higher with Tata from what have noticed.

    I had few problems with hyundai verna.. and in the end had engine noise problem which service ppl told me that it will need overhauling.. thankfully i had taken extended warranty after 3rd year..so pls who all reading this comment take extended warranty.. its a must as each and every brand’s car faces some or the other problem now and than..

    Our family car Safari completed 1yr 3 months..3rd free service was delayed and just did it today and had very bad experience in service centre. The service centre near me is a very ordinary centre with very minimal space and 4 lifts..100's of cars comes here every day..I had very bad experience here today..My Safari was in showroom condiiton even without a single minor scratch. One irresponsible technician hit right side back door with a barrel and scratched. another technician scratched other side..and the technician who serviced my car scratched all 4 wheels very roughly..One of the wheel is severely scratched..He uninstalled the wheels and put upside down. very disappointed and gone my peace of mind..Tata makes superb cars..But some service centres need proper training to handle modern cars atleast to keep it aesthetically good..Safari is a very nice vehicle to drive..I had similar worst experiences many times with hyundai too...

    The prob with Indian brands r that the mechanic frm their authorised service centre r not at all trained properly that's why it takes time...and ultimately customer has to bear the burden

    Best to stick to Maruti/Hyundai I think - easy to run and maintain, and easy to fix if something were to go wrong.

    Some dealers may not be keeping high value spares in stock. Also, diesel is adulterated in many pumps, especially on highways.. this creates a problem with even rugged engines like Mahindra.

      Even low value spares are not available. What explains lack of Mudflaps or wipers unavailability in rainy season. I had to search at multiple centres.

    Owning a Safari or Harrier is an emotional thing. Other car owners will not understand.

      I agree on Harrier and Safari, it's a special car not just another car. There is something about it, design, Tata goodwill (inspite of this quality issues). I don't know. I really want to see Tata winning.

People are willing to take a risk on their lives for the sake of so called reliability, service and resale value! Especially in India where accidents are much more common than Breakdowns! Why would a sane person ever buy a Maruti or Hyundai? Beats me!

    I also bought tata safari XZ+ dark edition on 31 August on next day i facing problem rigarding outo hold , message pop up on Screen auto hold malfunction, I am totally shock new, car PDI check car how this happen , after 1st service also they unable to solve my problem

    Issue is not due to impure fuel, why do you have diesel filters then? Actual issue is some dynamic part in high pressure fuel pump has failed and debris has spoilt entire fuel injection mechanism. In my view you have to change high pressure pump, low pressure pump, fuel lines and even injectors (CRD). I faced same issue with my Diesel Sport Compass few months ago. Interesting to understand which make fuel pump has failed, if it's same combination as in Jeep Compass?

    Safari is an incomparable car. I own a dark gold edition and have had issues with it but still when I sit in the car i forget everything because of the way its made. It's sheer pleasure to drive the car, specially on highways.
    Tata RSA once had to toe my vehicle from spiti till Shimla and they beared the full cost of toe plus my cab which was almost 70k in total.
    Full marks to TATA designers and engineers for producing this car. I can't imagine myself driving any car other than this in the current market.
    Keep patience and you'll soon be back on the road.

      Why was your car towed? I own Safari XZA+ and furthest I’ve driven it is to Shimla. 16k kms and I’ve had only minor issues till now. Though once the AC unit completely stopped working.

      @@shivamdharni3673 heyy, there was a very minor issue, the battery got discharged at high altitude majorly due to my ignorance. It was very difficult to find a mechanic at Nako who could even identify the fault cause. All the electricals were working perfectly fine but still the battery didn't have enough juice to crank the starter motor and henc made it furthermore difficult to be specific that battery was the root cause. We did try jump starting with bolero campervan, jcb spare battery and even a gypsy. But it seems Safari needs high amperage to crank the starter motor.
      All said, RSA arranged toe vehicle, delivered my car at Shimla service station and it took them 5 mins to put a spare battery and the engine cranked immediately. Lol.
      All being said, I do want to mention that I did observe a huge Power loss with Safari at kaza and hikkim specially below 2-2.5k rpms. Post which it was almost normal. Even drive modes didn't help with the power loss. I think that's one of the characteristics of diesel engines at those altitudes but it gets further difficult for automatic vehicles.

    Buy SCORPIO N. Kuldeep Kaushik ( kaushik vlogs) is buying the same...I too had Harrier that I sold bcz of poor service

      Bro, you would realise soon that Mahindra is worse in service compared to TATA. Biggest mistake of my life going for Club Mahindra and have been regretting since. #saynotomahindra
      Trust me owning a Safari i know though they are not professionals but the service people are actually there to help at TATA. That's not the case with Mahindra I feel.

    Yess. It is true that the Tata Motors Services are more of hit or miss. Unka Kaam Karne Ka Tarika Ajeeb Hai Sahi Mein. Woh Log Problems Trial and Error Basis Pe Deal Karte Hai. I myself own Harrier!

      I don't think they are cheating or something. It's just ineffecient management.

    I also own Adventure Persona Automatic model of Tata Safari. Your videos helped me a lot in deciding.
    My car is more than 4 months old, driven 11,000 KM. No major issues
    But I do have some complaints- I was given only one smart key during delivery. Still my dealer is not telling me exactly when would I receive my another key

    Don't worry sir..you car will be back soon..till then enjoy Swift and it's fuel efficiency..kuch to positive dhoondana padta hai..even I have maruti celario as my second car and had to drive it occasionally, especially when I go to nearby crowded places..so I understand the difference..or call it pain of difference...

    Mere uncle ne safari storm li thi 4 saal mei same problem hua tha unke sath. Unko na chahte uss gadi ko bechna pada aur uska resale valve 4lacs aaya jo gadi unhone 18 lacs mei liya tha. Tata pe bharosa rakhna mushkil hai. Desh ka loha sochke lelo aur phir desh ka loha bhangar ke bhav mei becho.

    Got a harrier 2 months ago and the mileage figures are making me weep. The PDI shows mileage as 13.6 kmpl for city driving; but i did a manual calculation and figured it was only 10 kmpl. I don't even drive so rough. Highway mileage is 14.5 kmpl only, but i could even accept that because my average highway cruise speed is around 110-120 km/hr. The city mileage is what driving me crazy. Apart from that i had some minor issues like drive mode malfunction and small clicking sound in the steering that was sorted out in the first service. But seeing all these harrier/safari problems scares me everytime in start driving it. The suspense is unreal. 😭🤣 God i really miss my 2014 nissan terrano. That thing is literally indestructible. Never had a single issue for almost 8 years.

    Yes sir..diesel engines ka fuel injection system kharab hora he ...also they are right...diesel fuel me bahut adulteration ho rahi he with other oils...
    Diesel fuel injection system are very much delicate to bad fuel.
    My friend works in a garage which specially deals only in fuel injection system related issues..itna bad gaya he issues ajkal..all due to adulteration in diesel
    Petrol adulteration is hard to find as compared to diesel..

    All terrain was glowing. Don’t think your problem is really fuel injector problem.

      Maybe. But lights glowing etc are just symptoms, the cause can be anything. It's like fever is a symptom for Covid or normal fever both.

    After sales service is part of the product package and there has been very little improvement on that front for Tata Motors. Despite of making safe cars they fail in after sales.

    Ya actually har ek company ka problem hochuka hai boh log itna model nikal te hai ki sab model ka parts thik se supply nhi kar pate. Aur agar sab model ka parts supply nhi kar pate ho toh itna model nikal te kyun ho limited models rakho but after sales services acha karo

    Tata still need to work on its service chote se chota part bhi available nahi rehta service Center mai , jab ki company Pune mai h donno out of Maharashtra Kya hota hoga…. I have visited 10-15 times in 2 months they need to train staff as well Coz they couldn’t find solutions… very bad experience #tatasafari #tatamotors

    Don't worry brother i had met with an accident in my earlier Scorpio and the dealer took 3 plus months to get the body chasis from the company and one month to replace it. Trust me i know the irritation when your car is in the workshop.

      There is - 1 % link between Headlights and fuel injection system.

    Hi, I purchased TATA Safari XZA+ in June 2022.
    Need to share my experience.
    In 2018 I purchased Hyundai Tucson Petrol.
    Met with an accident in 2019.
    Though they repaired the car but the
    there was always a problem in engine. Hence 2-3 times it went to the service centre for repair and took 1-1.5 months. Everyone told me that it’s an uncommon car and part & all are not easily available.
    So I sold it with a decision that I will purchase a car which has high sales and choose Toyota Innova.
    But my family never liked the design of it so we opt for Safari as a friend of mine purchased Harrier in 2021 & he suggested me to go for it.
    The only issue as on date I am facing with Safari is a “tak tak” sound while moving the steering right & left which goes after a drive of 50-60 kms.
    Just to inform my Safari run is very less. I have just drove 500 km since purchase as I use it only for my long routes.
    Hoping my experience with Safari & Tata Service centre will be good unlike Hyundai.

      Check if Tyres are touching mubflaps. Sometimes that sounds can seem to be coming from steering too.
      Don't worry, not everyone has bad experience. There are lot of decent service centers too.

    bought the 3 yr unlimited kms extended warranty exactly because of fear of this😅
    Tata needs to improve the service, my Safari was in the body shop for almost a month because the front bumper was not available.
    Honestly love the car, just completed 30k KM but the service experience is just a big miss.

    I can't buy this excuse that due to bad oil fuel pump gone. We are not buying fuel from roadside bottle like goa. We buy from esteemed company and their high-tech pumps. Service centre fooling around on this for sure. It must be defective piece or some other reason.

    Tata service is worse for sure. I am now scared as a Safari owner. Spending so much money and having this kind of issue is not acceptable. I ordered sidestep and it took one month to get it done.

    Quite disheartening to see the Tata ASS. Were there any warning signs or anything before the breakdown?? On a side note ..if low fuel driving is an issue then all their test drive cars will have failed fuel pumps :)

    Tata is Known for pathetic service.
    Most of my friends owning harrier regrets.
    Product is excellent as you said but TATA has to do something on the service and spares availability.
    And as you said 3 weeks for one part and that to being manufactured in our own country should not take this much time.

      Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Tata Safari owners are more emotionally attached to their vehicles rather than Hyundai or Maruti vehicles owners, so sometimes even minor issues might result in heartbreak, we have owned many Maruti and Hyundai vehicles and some of them had major engine problem even though the running was not high, but never have any one said Maruti or Hyundai are bad, maybe because most Maruti and Hyundai owners are not so emotionally attached. It's like when your best friend has even a small argument with you and you might feel very sad, whereas if a stranger or a not so close person has a big fight with you, still you might forget in a day or two, correct me if my viewpoint is wrong....

      You are correct that Tata Safari and Harrier Owners are very passionate about their cars my opinion too.
      But what you are seeing is ground REALITIY that Tata needs to improve its service.

      @@TheSafariTraveller yes totally agree with you, I think with recent sales increase, Tata might be secretly working on investing their profits in upgrading their service and will definitely invest money in improving the facilities and opening more service stations. Watching how proactive Tata is in upgrading the tech features and introducing electric vehicles, I think Tata might be working on service aspect too.....may be it will take one or two more years to implement the strictness with all their dealers....but I feel the work has already started and many dealers are going to fall in line soon, now many dealers from other brands want to take Tata dealerships, thanks to the increased sales and this will result in more competition and more choices for the buyers and lesser work load on existing service centers. Also the existing monopoly by some dealers will come to an end....

    भाई जी, टोयोटा, फॉक्सवैगन, स्कोडा, जीप कॉम्पस, इन सब की गाड़ियां फालतू की मेंहगी नही है इनकी क़्वालिटी और आफ्टर सेल सर्विस शानदार होती है, इससे अच्छा तो आप सेकंड हैंड फार्च्यूनर ले लेते तो ज्यादा फायदे में और टेंशन फ्री रहते, कम पैसों में ज्यादा फीचर ऐसी ही क्वालिटी के मिलेंगे
