If anyone is wondering if they are open during the lockdown, they are, but you should call in for orders to beat the line.
Edit: Thanks for the 700+ likes! Update on Portos and the Pandemic: Burbank location, you can't go inside. You have to drive up, take a menu from an employee waiting for you, then park in their parking lot, and call in your order. They'll bring it to you. Don't know about the other locations. Hope that helps!

I've tried portos and I think it's good prices but okay quality. Cakes taste slightly commercial compared to homemade ones with real buttercream good ingredients, etc. so I'd say it's a step below a nice bakery but with much better prices. I'm pretty sure they aren't using real butter in the layers of their guava cheese tarts.

Yeah, working with Filipinos is a pain. They keep asking me to bring back stuff from Portos, because I live close by. Reminded everyone that two other coworkers are closer.

Porto's always has amazing food. The quality of the pastries and cakes are top notch, and the prices are so reasonable. When you see a regular line out the front door every day, you know they are good. And lastly, the employees that have assisted with my orders through the years have all been so nice.

Porto’s is out of this world. If you ever visit L.A. it is must to eat there. Their potato balls, guava puff pastries, Cuban sandwiches and delicious and beautiful cakes. My favorite cake is their Berries & Cream. Ugh now I want it. Be ready to wait in line but it’s worth it.

Sorry but as a Spaniard who has had a fair amount of Cuban food over the years, I find a similarity between Spanish and Cuban cuisines! While both are good wholesome tasting food they both lack that savory factor you get from French or Italian cuisine. And while Porto’s pasties look beautiful, they don’t hold a candle to a good French pastry.

When it comes to food, Cubans are just on a different level completely. We grew up with Cuban neighbors and I fell in love with their food. I swear they’re all magic lol. I vividly remember at a bbq, our neighbor was making chicken. It seems so basic. But it was soooo good. I used to love when they’d make Cubano sandwiches because they’d always bring us so many. I loved how when they cooked, they always made extra. Always. Just in case they found someone who needed to eat. And if they didn’t find anyone who needed food they’d either use the food to make a completely new dish, or give it away anyways. And they were always making stuff for the neighbors. Always. They’re geniuses when ur comes to seasonings, baking, and cooking.
