Marek, I have the Niro hybrid. The hybrid is recharging based on driving style. My car rarely runs less than 40% electric and then various percentages up to 100% depending on weather and driving style. The PHEV simply adds higher battery capacity, so you are describing Toyota hybrid systems, not Kia when you say that once the plug-in charge has expired, it runs on petrol only. Batteries are more efficient in warmer drier weather - approx 10mpg difference on cold damp weather. My hybrid is even re-charging the battery when its running 100% EV thanks to various older Formula 1 specs

Electricity is so cheap that people light up their houses like christmas trees all night long with spotlights and so on. Yes, but unfortunately I made a mistake, and it would take 6 years.
@@MarekDrives Depends on your region I suppose. Here in Québec, we have around 98% hydro and we actually have so much electricity (because we built so many dams in the 70's) that they have to stop producing. They even give people 13k to buy an EV so that they can use some of that leftover current. Electricity is so cheap that people light up their houses like christmas trees all night long with spotlights and so on. And since gas is kinda expensive, although nowhere near EU prices, going EV is a no brainer.
Lucky you. Energy is still cheap in Poland, but we get no incentives to move towards cleaner cars. For most people buying a new(er) car is a step up from whatever beatnik they have imported from Western Europe, so the government "handing out" money for new (PH)EVs is seen as helping the rich get richer.
He is so negative about Hyundai/Kia...
Why?
