You've gotten the name of parts and some ports wrong. USB 2.0 Type B is the correct type of port on the back. The one above it is Ethernet port. The covered ports are for the fancier version of this machine - the 179nw which also has fax capabilities. That is where the two phone line connectors would have been. The lid on the paper tray is not glass. It is plastic. This was discontinued in the USA some years ago. You got it brand new in your country? Fortunately the toners, drum, papers for this machine are still being made.
