I'm amazed he recalls the info but more so at how calm he was to be able to think about that info. I may know about certain things but if there is a time I need to remember I fear my panic may take over my brain.

I had an accident in 2006 puncturing my left femoral artery by my groin and spent a good few weeks in hospital and I was lucky to be alive the doctors said.the blood I lost was a hell of alot and it was spurting out like a fountain . well done to the lad who saved his brothers life.
A person has approximately !! 0.5 litres of blood per 7kgs of body weight or one pint of blood per stone (although this does not increase if someone is over weight). An ‘average’ adult has roughly 10 pints / 6 litres of blood - if they lose about a 5th of their blood volume it can cause the body to shut down and go into shock, by stage 3 a person with hypovolemic shock will have 30 to 40 percent, or 1500 to 2000 ml, blood loss.
The fact that he stayed so calm and cool during that is absolutely amazing. And to be so humble about literally saving a life shows his true character. You sir are a hero. You should become a paramedic and put that calm and collected approach to saving even more lives

I have disabilities & health issues, & wanted to keep it written down & in my purse at all times in case of any emergency. In the US most of my friends automatically know their blood type.. why is that not common knowledge for us here when it could save lives?! Food for thought! You don't need to know your blood type because O Negative can be given to anyone. In an emergency situation such as this they generally only carry O Negative, once you get to the hospital you'll be cross matched and they'll figure out your blood type. Even if you know your blood type and have it written down, they can't trust that so they'll cross match you anyway, so it wouldn't make a difference.
A great outcome but it's easy to forget that in most places this sort of expensive and expert help isn't available. Thank you to everyone involved and his bigger little brother.

The average time on scene for a paramedic response in a rural area in a life threatening situation in the UK is 11 minutes and 14 seconds and 7 minutes and 13 seconds in an urban area. No, this is not available in every civilized country. The UK is geographically tiny, densely populated and very efficient in emergency response.

Honestly I ended up having great fun that weekend. But if either of us had injured ourselves? Done for. That's why you hear of so many people dying on ATVs or 4-wheelers or whatever you wanna call them around here. Sometimes, even if you have a radio phone, you're surrounded by homogenous wildnerness hours from nowhere and near impossible to find even by the time you're already dead. And if they do find you, the bill you get might v we'll make you wish you'd up and died. 10,000s of dollars just for the rescue, not even counting the healthcare. All told, an emergency may cost abt the same as a modest home.
They were two woman who wanted to help out and the area looked very remote so the chances are, they called the ambulance. And at 2:58, they also help out by holding Jake’s leg. I don’t think they were there for simple entertainment
Had this happen to a girl i know, in 7th grade she was riding down her road and her bike lost control. She ended up sliding on her side and getting impaled in her thigh by her handle bar. Thankfully someone was driving by and witnessed her in pain and pulled over to help. She is alive and well today thanks to those two ladies ❤

That's why you need to get grip end caps, they are designed exactly for that, infact when youtubers test grips they very often try to punch like potatos or similar soft things to see how much it digs in

I think we have a paramedic in the making :) he 100% saved his brothers life his brother could have bleed out in less than 4 minutes, so happy this all ended well.
What an amazing young man to be able to stay calm after such a horrific accident happened to his brother. To be able to not panic and do what he needed to do until the paramedics arrived and to then be able to assist the paramedics as well and not even get squeamish at the horrific injury his brother sustained what a star! I really hope that when he is older he will become a paramedic or a doctor that specialises in trauma surgery I think he would be perfect for it!
It's rare for even grown adults to keep a cool head and do what needs to be done in a sudden trauma moment like this. Especially if it's someone important to you. He would make an excellent EMT. Jake is so lucky that his brother was with him.

I wasn’t born yet but my mam always told us the story when he was in the ambulance he kept saying he could see a light but there wasn’t non on he died in the operating theatre but they brought him back to life now he is all good and healthy

I think we have a paramedic in the making :) he 100% saved his brothers life his brother could have bleed out in less than 4 minutes, so happy this all ended well.

What an amazing young man to be able to stay calm after such a horrific accident happened to his brother. To be able to not panic and do what he needed to do until the paramedics arrived and to then be able to assist the paramedics as well and not even get squeamish at the horrific injury his brother sustained what a star! I really hope that when he is older he will become a paramedic or a doctor that specialises in trauma surgery I think he would be perfect for it!

It's rare for even grown adults to keep a cool head and do what needs to be done in a sudden trauma moment like this. Especially if it's someone important to you. He would make an excellent EMT. Jake is so lucky that his brother was with him.

I really hope his brother considers a career as a paramedic he did such an incredible job at saving his brother he didn’t even think twice about what he had to do he just got straight to it and acted accordingly ..an instinct that’ll take him very far as a medic

My older brother who is 19 now went through a glass door when he was 3 and his artery was hit my gran saved his life
Rachel Lowther my older brother did the same there was a chopper and everything all I remember is being able to watch in the night garden while they were in the hospital
I wasn’t born yet but my mam always told us the story when he was in the ambulance he kept saying he could see a light but there wasn’t non on he died in the operating theatre but they brought him back to life now he is all good and healthy
