The New Testiment is the Interpretation of the Old Testiment.
All the people who came to Jerusalem for the Passover only knew the Old Testiment, the New Testiment was Tongue to them, so when Peter and the others were preaching the Gospel of the New Testiment the Holy Spirit was Poured out upon them and open the spiritually blind, meaning three thousand people understood the Gospel of the New Testiment and Got baptized.
U r right on d day of Penticost God did it so that all d ppl who were celebrating d feast of Penticost. But u must know also that tongues is d initial sign that a believer receives d Holy Spirit. It is also d among d signs that must follow d life of d believer(mark16:16...) Tongues is also seen as unknown when d believer speak to God not to men 1corinthians14.

In any case though a person speaking gibrish is not it. In every sense of the word tongue is language.
What commandments was Jesus referring to ?
So let’s look at the context of this text the preacher quoted ie : “ whatever you eat or drink , do all to the glory of God”. Very common quote by SDAs. However if you read the context of 1 Cor 10 where this quote is taken from you will see that Paul was telling them to abstain from certain foods so as not to be a stumbling block. He literally says in v27 whatsoever a man set before you eat but if it will be a stumbling block to others then do not. Paul is also puzzled as to why people speak evil of him for eating things offered to idols when he has given thanks for it. He the. Followed that up in v 31 by saying whatever you do, making glorying God your goal as though there is no issue with it , if it causes others to stumble by eating whatever then do not. I hope SDAs will stop misquoting this text that is actually a rebuke to their old covenant position. 1 Timothy 4:3 clearly speaks again that you should bless and sanctify your food with thanksgiving and eat it. Again Romans 14:2 says it’s the man that is weak in the faith eat herbs. A man of faith, who walk in the newness of faith and not under the letter of the law ( old covenant) will bless sanctify and eat whatever is placed before him. Know your Scripture before just quoting texts you have heard someone say.. even if that someone is a preacher.
Then tell me why when peter was on the house top and got the vision of unclean meats he told God no he will not eat because he doesn"t partake of anything unclean. God doesn't go back on His words. If he says something is wrong, it is.
You are quoting scriptures that you don't underdtand. Ask God to open your eyes to His words so you can understand what is God's will for us. Those who eat swine flesh and other unclean things defile their bodies which is the temple of God.
@@Bless.298 This was very early in Acts before Peter had an understanding of the new covenant in Christ as a result of his resurrection. Please note the Lord's response - Call nothing I create unclean. It is not that God changed his mind, he was under a different covenant with the Israelites ( the old covenant/testament (Post cross we are under a new and better covenant with better promises Hebrews 8:6). If you remain under the old covenant you are under the law and the benefits of the cross will not be available to you. Christ is the end of the law for righteousness. Those old covenant laws are no longer applicable to us new covenant people. Do I kill and steal, no, but not because a law says it but because I have Christ living in me working out his purpose. 1 Timothy 4:4 says every creature of God is good and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving. 1 Cor 10:27 Paul says if dining with an unbeliever est whatever is placed before you without question ( this was not the case under the old covenant). I highly recommend that you familiarise yourself with the new covenant, Christ died to give you liberty, time to take yourself out of the bondage of the Pharisees ie the bondage of religion instead of relationship.

@@janicec100 you are confused my dear God's covenant never changed , as it was in the begining so shall it be in the end. Are you saying christ died so that you can be free to commit sin ! I believe that christ died for me to be free from sin and be obedient to him. Ask God to remove the scales from your eyes. God doesn't fight against himself , His words stand sure forever. How disappointing that he avoided :-
1 Corinthians 14:2
For he that speaketh in an UNKNOWN TONGUE, speaketh NOT UNTO MEN but UNTO GOD, For no man understandeth him;howbeit IN THE SPIRIT he speaketh mysteries.
UNKNOWN TONGUE- is not an earthly language, for NO MAN understands. Not even the person speaking it; unless the spirit gives the interpretation through the person speaking or someone else.
The Bible does reference 3 different types of Tongues.
(1 Corinthians 13:1)
1. Tongues of men - which is the language spoken in different parts of the world - Spanish, English, French These are the languages/tongues that was spoken on The Day of Pentecost . The disciples were speaking different earthly languages/tongues which was understood by the people from the different countries whose language each disciple spoke.
2. Tongues of Angels
3. Unknown Tongues - (1 Corinthians 14:2) - In the Spirit a person is speaking unto God and not unto men.
Jesus said in the book of St. John -
The Holy Spirit will guide you into ALL TRUTH ….

Let me get this right, God whom is the creator of every language and tongue, know and unknown to man, has a message for someone that he wants delivered. He chose and will send it through a preacher in tongues, who then repeats it to God cause only he understood, and the recipient it is intended for does not understand a single thing being said, and no one can interpret it. Why would God want a message returned to him that he sent for someone.? What knowledge was imparted to the hearer of these tongues? God is not an author of confusion.
@@elisabethbenjamin2203 Scripture was quoted, you cannot just ignore it. The unknown tongue is a spiritual language between the believer and the Lord. It is a heavenly language of communication, English or other earthly languages are carnal. If there is no interpreter , we should consider whether it is necessary to speak in tongues especially if others are present who do not have the gift of tongues as that will seem confusing. I really pray, you will study out the topic as there is a deeper spiritual experience with God when you communicate in tongues as you are bypassing the carnal and fully submerged in the spiritual.

There is so much to correct from what the preacher says, I am not sure where to start. I will need to respond overtime as there is much to correct in his understanding.
At minute 1:05:10 He states that” his understanding from the bible is that a tongue is a language than can be understood. However 1 Cor 14:2 states “ For he that speaketh in an UNKNOWN tongue speaketh not unto men but unto God, for no man understandeth him, howbeit in the Spirit he speaketh mysteries”. Please note this is a direct contradiction to what the preacher said.

I said I would need time to unpack the errors in the sermon, so I am back as promised. One more observation on tongues. If one reads Acts 10 from v 34-48, the reader will notice that after Paul preached the gospel truth of the risen Lord, the Holy Spirit was poured out. V 44 and v45 -46 says on the gentiles were poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit for they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. No preaching was being done here, just the awesome manifestation of the Spirits outpouring that was evidenced to the Jews by the gentiles speaking in tongues. The SDA view that tongues is just to speak a known language so the listener can hear the gospel is incorrect as also evidenced here. I will back with more Scripture, but I truly hope the reader of this text will open their hearts to the Truth because not having the ability to speak in tongues causes you to miss out a very powerful tool in warfare and in communion with the Holy Spirit which is very unfortunate. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to give you the gift of tongues and you will receive it, if you believe.

This is the time to do more teaching than preaching too much sermonising if we want to make in to the kingdom we have to fellow in the foot step of christ we are to go by the way and edges look after the sick take care of the homeless and also the widow and the sick some time we in order for our chiristin journey we need to do more ground work when christ wos on earth his mission was to teach not so much of preaching reach out to his people.
