I'm not a makeup artist, but always like to see what professionals carry around in their kit. It gives me a better idea of the best items from each brand. I like how you keep that old Dior liner from when you were young. Holding on to small things for sentimental and to remember what it was like when you were starting out really can put things into perspective and help you remind you of how far you have come professionally. Good job.
I could listen to your voice all day! And this video has helped me to keep all the make up collection videos on youtube in perspective. I love how you highlight that you don't pay for things anymore, it can feel so much pressure to get pricey products
Hi Sally! I recently subscribed to you and have watched you on several channels. I have to tell you that you have such a lovely camera presence. It is honest very thoughtful and so entertaining. Your knowledge and interviewing of makeup artists and celebrities is delightful. Your love of makeup shines through in your beautiful demeanor. I love that you started as a teenager and you are so dedicated makes for watching you a treat. Thanks so much for this video. You are a treasure!
Sali, I've been doing my makeup for the best part of 35 years. Obviously it evolved over time, but having watched your videos I've changed my eyeshadow application. I'm now much quicker, and very pleased with the result. I think, I'm flattering myself here!, that despite having different colouring (&age) that I look a little like you. Your eye and blush style certainly suits me, so many thanks too you💄👠🍾🍷💐
So cool....I love the Mystere quad, just finished it....got it after watching your videos, with the nail polish...I look so much better after finding you - thank you for fab advice
Great walk through, love so many of the products you mentioned. Also, that eyeliner story was so nice. It must be lovely to have small memories like that with you at at all time :)
V. exciting to see a kit of a makeup artist. How do you keep the products sanitary to use between each client? Especially on liquid liner that is in the form of pen, for e.g. (like Eyeko, or some of the liquid liner pens -- or perhaps you simply don't use those & use gel liner instead)? Many thanks. P.S. I do appreciate the fact that you maintain your kit in immaculate condition! I didn't see a smudge of powder on the Zuca pouches, even. It inspires me to keep my own makeup items clean.
Amazing kit, thank you for sharing this video. I recently assisted on my first make up shoot and the lead artist had a zuca bag. Definitely keeps everything organised and together, and provided a seat when we were all waiting around backstage after a long day!
I'm stuck in my bed reading your book, watching your videos and creating make up wish lists all at the same time. I'm feeling so inspired! Do you have any particular blush to recommend for very pale skin. I have a weekness for bright pinks but would like to try something more simple that works better for everyday makeup. Any suggestions? Love your work!
ranunkel1 Yes, don't make-up expire? Wouldn't it be a nightmare keeping track of them all or do they not replace them regularly? It would cost a lot to replace them too I would imagine.
I'm addicted to your videos, they are do good and informative! I'm getting married next year and want to try to budget in a make up artist. Wish I was able to be famous, just so I could have you to do my makeup!
Just found your channel and was really happy about it! I watched your interview w/Mary Greenwell first (which was fantastic). You told her that you always chuck all the applicators from the eyeshadows straightaway but in this video, filmed just a week earlier, you've got all the applicators in every quad and palette. I kind of confused why you would do this.
how did you get into make up and beauty? what did you do to get to where you are, how did it all start at just 15? sorry for the questions im just so interested
What was the first foundation u mentioned something queen? What is your fav tinted moisturiser and cream eye shadow and cream blushes please - love from Ireland ☘️🇮🇪
The one she mentioned is the SUQQU Cream Foundation, which is still available a decade later. I'd venture a guess that her favorite tinted moisturizer is NARS Pure Radiant. Cream eyeshadows are either the Bobbi Brown or Vieve sticks, or Smashbox Always On if you prefer them to come in a tube rather than a stick. As for cream blush, perennial favorites are probably Stila Convertible Color and Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge, but the newer Chanel ones have gotten a recent column mention, as have Merit and Cle de Peau. H
In terms of doing bridal makeup, how do you get around the bride needing lip touch ups during the day please? Especially with a red lip or something? Do you give her the lipstick/ loan it to her or just suggest she wears her own? Thanks!
Makeup envy! lol..Can you recommend a foundation for very dehydrated/dry skin, I have tried soon many. I am 60 in May and would love to EVENTUALLY find a great moisturising foundation. Love all your videos and advice.
Can you recommend anything for a face with really bad broken capillaries. Tried green sticks but they just make you end up looking grey. Please help desperate.
You are the first artist I've seen who has a nice, professional, clean case that matches your personality and style. Hate to say it, but most are sloppy and messy and just don't seem to care. What is it that u like about urban decay liners? They are so smudgy and messy and I hate them LOL. The black one comes off greenish and gross and all messy. Bobby browns wont pay off any without busting your eyeball out. I've only had results with estee lauder, mineral fusion, and mac so far, but there are others I'd like to try. Maybe its easier to work with when putting them on someone else?
We did this particular video as we'd had loads of requests to see Sali's pro kit. We do cover a lot of mid and budget range products on the site, and Sali also covers them in her Guardian column regularly.
I'm sorry, but what's the name of that foundation you use for yourself? Sounding it out makes me spell"sooku" which is clearly not it's name. Can it be bought in the states online do you know? Thanks so much xx
ok so you are a bobbi brow girl we got it :)...you asked Mary if she throws those applicators and you show us the tom ford green pallet with aplicators in it :) ....this is so contradictory
The way you talk and present yourself is so classy xx
Thanks x
That anecdote about the Christian Dior liquid liner was beautiful. I love stories like that.

Really really enjoyed watching ....a bit blown away by the amount...admire you for keeping everything clean, after my own heart !
wow. i love that u take care of ur items so carefully. there are so many beautiful items u have.
Your kit is amazing! Thank you for the video! It was an aesthetic pleasure to see all those goodies gathered in one place!
I could listen to your voice all day! And this video has helped me to keep all the make up collection videos on youtube in perspective. I love how you highlight that you don't pay for things anymore, it can feel so much pressure to get pricey products

Thank you for sharing your kit, a real thing of beauty. I really appreciate that you respect your make-up as it's precious and often wearable art.

Sally....I am foaming at the mouth in the best possible way watching this! I love!
thank you for sharing your kit! Im a new freelance MUA and love seeing what others have in their kit x
Enjoyable vid, thanks. Am tempted to get a Chanel quad now, as you rate them so highly!

Le Genou de Claire to sanitize the liquid pens you have to spray them with 70% alcohol the down size is that it drys the liner out fast
wiggy a great word! so glad I stumbled across this as I'm just putting a kit together! xx
Amazing kit, thank you for sharing this video. I recently assisted on my first make up shoot and the lead artist had a zuca bag. Definitely keeps everything organised and together, and provided a seat when we were all waiting around backstage after a long day!
I love and enjoy all of your videos.
Love you videos. It's great hearing tips and info from a pro!
When you say you had something for 22 years.. my gosh you only look like you are in your 20s.. please do a skincare video!! :D
I'm stuck in my bed reading your book, watching your videos and creating make up wish lists all at the same time. I'm feeling so inspired!

Petra Gregersen Hi Petra - have you tried the Clarins cream blushes? Great for simple, everyday makeup - they're one of Sali's favourites. Debra
Was so excited to see this pop up in my subscriptions! Thank you!
"that sort of...shizzle"
LOL
great video, would be really interesting to see the makeup brushes you use in your kit and on yourself more in depth :)
Amazing organisation! I always wonder how MUA keep track on the expiring dates of cream products if one has to carry so many.
ranunkel1 Yes, don't make-up expire? Wouldn't it be a nightmare keeping track of them all or do they not replace them regularly? It would cost a lot to replace them too I would imagine.
I always use some reminders on my phone. It will allert me one month before the expire date
please talk us through your favourite brushes sal x

I love your makeup in this. What lipstick are you wearing? Great color.

Hi Sali, big fan over here! Do you recall what blush you're wearing in this video?
how did you get into make up and beauty? what did you do to get to where you are, how did it all start at just 15? sorry for the questions im just so interested

Jorinda Designs Have you tried YSL Touche Eclat? You can get samples on counter.
I love this! Such a helpful video
Very organized. Thanks for sharing
What nail polish are you wearing here? I'm new to your videos and book :)
Can you recommend anything for a face with really bad broken capillaries. Tried green sticks but they just make you end up looking grey. Please help desperate.
Try a colour correcting primer! Smashbox do one.

Speedy look at contents of that big bag.. Interested that its all high end products, pity not to have a few mid range for us punters!
We did this particular video as we'd had loads of requests to see Sali's pro kit. We do cover a lot of mid and budget range products on the site, and Sali also covers them in her Guardian column regularly.
Would you say that your kit is the same or there are a few interesting changes in 2018?
How do makeup artists sanitize the makeup between clients?
I'm sorry, but what's the name of that foundation you use for yourself? Sounding it out makes me spell"sooku" which is clearly not it's name. Can it be bought in the states online do you know? Thanks so much xx
Suqqu. x
Thank you so much! I am very much a noobie when it comes to many brands. x
Wow! I've just died and gone to make up heaven x
My son likes the sounds of the pencils
That was so interesting
Thank you 😘
Hallo !i am a. Ew subscriber from Germany and I love to watch your video !plz make more video !are you a make up artist ?greeting !
As a makeup artist I cringe at the thought of having to take everything out of its original packaging every time :'D
Same !
A züca bag is mainly for figure skaters...
ok so you are a bobbi brow girl we got it :)...you asked Mary if she throws those applicators and you show us the tom ford green pallet with aplicators in it :) ....this is so contradictory
What do you mean that you don't buy your makeup anymore?
Susan Mueller I think she gets sent it due to the nature of her job (she's a journalist so she probably gets PR samples)
Didn’t you like school?
Cool
