i had visited lancaster several times before and just recently moved here, it is without a doubt one of the best decisions ive ever made in my life. of course like EVERY city in America there a some not so good areas but for the most part it is a beautiful place to live with the majority of people being decent hardworking folks!
The crime and drugs here will make you scratch your head. How can a place so astetically pleasing be rotten. Also a lot of ex New Yorkers and N.J. folks move in and wanna or have been changing well into a version of N.Y. minus the charm. Just the loud music, drugs and gang part.
@@CinCee- Yep you know what I saw on the news what I saw? A Puerto Rican kid shoot up a Mall it was National and 4 people shot at a Mcdonalds near a highschool. After a basketball game. The school said be careful and lock your doors. Guess they should have said wear kevlar. So glad I live overseas.
@@DeceleratedTravel i lived here over 30 years. There are noce areas. Parts of downtown have cool restaurants and stores. But the stores close down at 5 and just restaurants will be open. All through summer you would hear gunshots. When I first came here in the 90s they would shut down traffic in the town square for kkk parades. I was completely gobsmacked. I grew up in North east Jersey. I had no idea that kind of stuff was still going on and legal. Its stopped now but the support from the police to let them have their get togethers completely floored me.
It's a nice town until you hit the southwest or the far east side. Then you'll know how a city can hide beneath a facade of shops and small businesses while just blocks away someone's dying on a street corner from an overdose or slumped on a park bench with a needle in their arm.
@@victormarin1029 Its not from a sociological perspective the city has been on a decline for 20 to 25 yeara. There was virtually no crime. You also look at the crine per capita and population size and it has serious problems.....

@@CinCee- lol.
I wouldn't want to live in that part of Lancaster. Too much crime. Every day someone is shot or stabbed
I'm sorry to hear that, it seemed perfectly nice when I visited.

He probably lives in the worst part of the city or close to gueto. Lancaster is a great place!
You can tell who the tourists are: They drive 50 mph in a 25 mph zone. 🙄

Sorry to say but that's in every city , you might say no. But it's true
