- My cabin projects have begun! The weather has been above seasonal temperatures and I’ve been lucky enough to catch up on the cabin siding.
We usually have much freezing temperatures and snow by this time of the year.
The siding project is moving alone great.

The progress of the work is surprising, the stretch is so beautiful I am so happy to be able to follow each step of the work you do, and I am always pleasantly surprised by the results 😊, especially since you learn at the same time as you carry out your projects and you succeed despite the difficulties in moving forward quickly (and getting help is not cheating, you are not professional and in some cases rather than wanting to do absolutely everything and having problems later, you have to the help of a professional 😊)

What a wonderful job you have undertaken. The fun is in the doing. When it's all done, hopefully, you can be bored for 5 or 10 minutes. We have a 1785 farmhouse that I named 'Never Done Farm' the first week we moved in because I saw the writing on the wall. 53 years later and we'll still never be done. Never be ashamed to have help. Sometimes accepting help from others is actually a gift to them............not to you.❤

Smart decision with the plywood on the ceiling having help, You do so many projects yourself in the long run you save money even though you have to hire somebody for some things thanking God that he give us ability to be able to do the things we love good day.
What a gorgeous house! I love the siding! I've been watching your channel for a few months now and love how peaceful your place is. And it's not cheating to hire some work out. It's safer than trying to do heavy things yourself, and one person cannot put up ceiling plywood on their own!

Very intelligent, it was safer and smart, NOT cheating. You were correct in selecting a person who does work like this and usually it gets accomplished quicker. The work outside is so Beautiful and Wow. You were so Cute in doing the hard work with your sister and your carpenter. It's not often that a carpenter works with someone so energetic and beautiful. I love how your cabine is changing and getting more and more a beautiful home. Inside and outside. I'm curious how the last wall will turn out, with the stones. But pressure must be mostly off I guess. And when it's getting colder i think you're gonna feel some difference inside now with some extra isolation on the walls. Winter can come, you're prepared! ☺️

I call it recognizing the limitations of building skills and getting a pro to help. That makes you a pro, as well, Lisette. The cabin is starting to look like a mini-mansion in the woods. Very nice!

No worries about having someone hang your plywood for you! Your sweet place in the wilderness is your home, and glad to see you have favorable weather to continue doing improvements on your cabin. Love the 1/2 log siding you are installing on one side of your exterior wall, too! Looks great, and both of you busted your derrieres getting all of that siding hung! I'm exhausted! When the bird was in your hand Lisette I realized you are indeed a Disney princess! :) Also, that bird is very valuable, because they say a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
I always saw "Work smart, not hard"! Overhead work is for experts (doing so is smart)😊. The outer wall is beautiful! You are great with the hammer (hardly ever a missed hit). Hard to tell the carpenter from the assistant. Looks wonderful, what a dream coming true😊
Even if Lisette hee-haw donkey tracked EVERY nail, some (myself included ) would just view that as the latest trend in "antiquing" wood.

I don't think you should consider hiring him 'cheating'. You always put 1000% effort in, and sometimes it's more important to know limitations. People who worry about failure get around it by never trying. I don't think the word failure exists in your world, because you ALWAYS try, and most always succeed. Oh, we celebrated our thanksgiving in October here in Canada. But I also celebrated the USA thanksgiving as well, I have family in Wisconsin and some great friends in the US as well.

Nothing wrong with hirering. You can’t go wrong with Curly. I’m so happy to see Curly healthy again! I’m so excited for you to finally finish the outside of your home. And OMG I really like the colour of your metal siding. The wood siding looks amazing also. I assume it is spar varnish that you used for the wood siding. I see you used stain around your windows. Once the stain is cured well I recommend that you do a very light sanding using 320 grit and then put a coat of spar varnish over it. It will make your stain colour richer and will look amazing. Also spar varnish has UV protectant in it. Cheers 🍻 😊

There is nothing wrong with getting help especially when you have a huge project and when we become more age mature than say somewhat younger generations.😊 Your carpenter doing the wood siding was probably happy to have your extra set of hands to help him. You were working so hard you blew holes in your overalls. That was smart to keep the window open when your on the roof. If the ladder falls you don’t have to wake up Kimber and Miss Snow to put it back up.

See you feeding that chickadee, When I was growing up on the farm we would have barn swallow build nest on the sides of the barn under the gutter, Late Summer the young start to leave the nest, Well this one young tried to leave nest and fell, I picked the little fella up put it in the palm of my hand and watched the parent land on my finger and feed the little one, that was a cool thing, I heard my Dad empty milk in the milk tank yelled at my dad to see this he walked out the milk house door, and was Dumbfounded on what he was seeing, was a cool experience.

Oh wow!!! What a beautiful experience that signs have been! How very sweet!! I love birds and love watching them. Many thanks my friend, the cabin is coming along nicely. Just waiting for more stones but I fear this will be done in cold weather. Oh well, it’s almost complete now. Been working on the interior as well! Busy, busy hahaha.

Watching a Chickadee eat from your hand made my eyes a little watery.😭 They are such cautious birds, Getting one to eat from your hand is just Awesome!! Your cabin is coming along Soo Beautifully!! Love the "Autumn Gold" stain color! So much hard work but Soo Worth it!! Working on a step ladder that is on a roof is no easy task but you did it Beautifully!!😊 I'm very curious as to what that inside wall will become, a picture gallery perhaps?? Maybe a place to hang all of those Beautiful and Wonderful pictures that you paint!! It's been really warm here in Maryland too as of late. The fall colors are really coming on here too. I was amazed when that little bird landed on your hand-as if there was a bond between you both.Did my garage walls in 1/2” plywood and tongue in groove cedar for the ceiling and 1x3 clear pine for the trim.I used 5/8” pressure treated plywood over reflective two way bubble insulation on top off 2x4’s laid on there sides for the flooring.I applied Nuetraltone water proof cedar stain to all surfaces,it gave me the cabin look I was looking for.Best of luck with the build.It takes time,but it’s time worth spending doing something you will enjoy living in for years to come.✌️
