There are truly not many bands that can transmit so much power and emotion through a youtube video like have heart!
RIP Have Heart. If it werent for this band I would still be thinking All That Remains was hardcore. Thank you for opening my eyes to real music that has meaning. RIP
This band saved my life. No fucking lie. I wanted to tell them that, but I wasn't able to trek up to MA for their last show. I'm getting "Watch Me Rise" tattooed on my back as a tribute.

I agree. My friends are always speaking "hey, dude, you have to drink to enjoy the life", or "buddy, you won't have any story to share with your kids". Well, I don't want my kids thinking of drinking, smoking and doping are normal things. I choose straight edge because it's right for me, not because I wanna take part of a movement, or something like this. If your friends don't accept you the way you are, forget them. They have to RESPECT you.
Ordered this album because of this video. The energy coming out of this is amazing.
I love that when Pat is talking, everyone is just quiet and paying attention and listening to what he says because they know that this man really has passion in his heart and then when the song starts, it is like an explosion of positivism in the whole vennue and thats just beautiful... just one word: RESPECT!!
I used to be straightedge, made it all the way to 17 till about 2 monthes ago. I felt left out of my friends because they partied every weekend and i wanted to share the same stories they did. So I began smoking. I've been listening to Have Heart for about a year now. I cant stop. I've just come to realize that its better overall being edge. Lifes harder but it is better. I relate to this band in a way I cant explain. I'm ready to go edge again. You dont need friends to be happy. Just yourself.
truly, last great hardcore band. 11 years ago seeing thus band pretty regularly, feels like yesterday. hardcore really changed for the worse when we lost Have Heart & Verse.

I'm not straight edge but I have nothing but respect for these guys. Seriously one of the best hardcore bands ever. 10/17/09 was a sad day for everyone.

I really dislike when people say or think life is better being edge. It all depends on the person, I don't smoke cigarettes and barely drink, but I do smoke marijuana regularly. I'm into the medical marijuana industry and it really helps with a lot of things. I still know right from wrong, I still think for myself, and aren't stupid about things. I still go to the occasional party and drink with friends, doesn't mean you're a bad person. As long as you can control yourself everything is good

I feel exact the same way. I'm into a similar situation at the moment, but I still have other friends who totally respect my decision and I will never let others force me to be someone who I don't want to be. Bands like Have Heart helping me through hard times, I'm so sad they broke up and bands like this are rare today.

The singer really puts his heart and soul into his performance, so does the rest of the band, but the singer really stands out, awesome.

My dad used to get drunk and beat my mom when she was 8 months pregnant with me. She divorced him to protect my older brother and me. She's been addicted to pain pills for the entire 25 years I've been alive because of her anguish and pain in life. People often judge and wonder why I am the way I am, but not many know my darkest reasons for choosing the life I live. Drugs, alcohol and cigarettes ruin lives. Not only the ones that do them, but the ones that love those individuals most.

@chrisgeorgegray To say that everybody who drinks or smokes is a slave to their substance is just as valid as saying that edge-claimers are a "slave" to their ideals. Not everybody who uses is addicted. Have Heart is great though, I love this band and everything they stand for. The ideals presented by them, both edge and non-edge, are exactly what this generation needs to hear.

I've stopped listening to hardcore (as in this not that shitty generic pop metal core crap) for awhile now yet whenever I listen to Have Heart I still get chills. I have the utmost respect for these folks.

@TimCampbellMusic It's not a waste of life. For some it's the right choice, for others it isn't. I have my reasons for claiming edge, and I feel that that's the direction I want to take in life. It's a personal choice, and I don't look down on others for not choosing it.

And I enjoy drinking and stoning from time to time, but that doesn't mean A) I'm going to constantly bring it up and B) even bring it to the fucking edge venue asking for trouble. I'm there for the music, and that's all that matters in the end.

This song is motivational for Edge and non Edge people alike. Do you edge-heads assume you're better than everyone else because you're clean? Or perhaps you have a right to Have Heart exclusively? No, "Watch Me Rise" applies to anyone who is able to stand on their feet and continue to run forward. Steve Jobs went to India, got doped up on countless recreational drugs, during a high, came up with the idea for Apple, which is the system you're most likely viewing this on. So pipe down all of you.
