Absolutely agree. I started with the "can you help mummy" almost from birth. Everytime I did anything while holding them "can you help mummy with lunch/laundry/sweeping". Obviously they are just keeping me company at that age but as they got older it was kind of instinct for them to just start doing things with me. My oldest (17) is the sweetest young man and my youngest (1) is such a lovely little girl, always"helping" put her toys back where they belong (everywhere but her toy box haha). Sorry, long comment. In early childhood education we call that "working conversation" where the parents or caregivers are talking about what they are doing or what is happening. It is a critical part of child development. It teachers not only responsibly and work ethic but also language skills, cognition, social/emotional skills, and fosters healthy attachment which is part of the foundation for learning. I love to hear about kids with parents who put in the extra effort. Way to go!

I'm a talker so we talk about what we're doing. All 4 of my children are tidy (for kids) and have responsibilities that are theirs alone. I don't do their jobs and they don't do mine. There's no argument and we still all tend to do them together/around each other. I'm very close with all of my children and I absolutely think that open communication started from birth. Parents can't complain about the next generation when we're the ones raising them. Do it right or don't do it at all.

Comparing yourself with others is only good if you want to learn to obtain the skills that that other person has that you don't have. Beyond skills (genius, beauty or physical attributes like height) is usually God-gifted that you should avoid comparing yourself to with others.
Shy kids are usually kids that are afraid to fail because their parents tend to react negatively if they did do something that ends up in failure (scolding them, punishing them too much). @@tylishaleavy9456 that’s a slur- I hope you know that and refrain from using it and not be like everyone who uses that slur like “its just another word for stupid” or “i can say whatever I want” or “its not even that bad stop being a snowflake/sensitive” or “its not exclusive to people with disabilities or conditions.” Ive heard it all since that slur is way too normalized.
And maybe it isn’t good parenting exactly, but it is being a decent parent. You may think its stupid that people comment about it but you won’t believe the amount of people who were raised that if they did a simple mistake such as spilling a drink, they would get yelled at/punished. It’s just nice to see that it isn’t happening in this video.

Her saying “it’s okay” in that kind of voice caught me off guard- I know that’s not what the video is about but it gave me a small realization that that’s how parents are supposed to react instead of getting angry and blowing up at kids- I remember getting belittled and guilted if I ever spilled or dropped something. Props to her and I hope she does well in life
Edit - just to clarify where I stand, it doesn’t matter what a child does, NOTHING and I mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING should cause a violent or aggressive reaction from a parent, yes you should punish children for things they’ve done wrong but there is absolutely no situation where you should yell, scream or hit said child. Agree or disagree I don’t care in the least bit. Again I’m not saying you shouldn’t discipline your kid but for the love of god don’t cause them trauma.
Edit 2 - Why are people like this- Different actions require different consequences depending on the severity. Spilling milk vs them hitting another child would need to be addressed differently. Punishment and consequences work but violence and verbal abuse don't. Please don't give idiotic comparisons.

You can tell she's a good parent, teaching the kids responsibilities at a young age and not getting angry for little mistakes that they make. Most old parents born in the mid 1900s don't understand this concept, they love to shout and get angry and destroy people's pride and dignity over little things that don't effect them. Its really pathetic how alot of parents act. SHOUTING AND VIOLENCE NEVER SOLVES ANYTHING

I was a terribly clumsy kid and my mom was a perfectionist, born in right in the middle of 1900s,she made me feel so helpless growing up. Now I'm a 29 years old, insecure scaredy cat. I feel dependent on someone when I need to do something right, I don't even want to start something new, I'm socially very awkward, it's a crippling feeling. And she still blames me for being like this, I've tried to explain to her, even showed her parts from psychology books but she won't have any of that. In her head I'm just stupid and that's that.
