Thanks Alistair for another inciteful and biblically inspired message. Not many pastors preach on the importance of the tearing of the Temple curtain and it's relevance to the Christian life. Thanks for taking on the hard subjects and making them understandable. I listen to you every morning and each Saturday and Sunday for the weekend sermons. You were quite young in this one. I was too when this was recorded (we're the same age). God Bless.
I was hoping to hear how impossible it would have been for the veil to be torn in two from top to bottom. It was how thick? 6-10 inches thick? How tall was it? It was a visible assurance along with an earthquake that Christ entered by His flesh, fulfilling the requirement of the Law by His sinlessness into the very Presence of the Father, making our way through Him to have access through His sacrifice, initiating a new and living way to the Father. Thank You for making the only Way and forgiving me.
WHEN JACOB BELIEVED HIS SON JOSEPH WAS DEAD, HE RENT HIS OUTER GARMENT FROM TOP DOWN. SO, WHEN THE FATHER IN HEAVEN KNEW HIS SON WAS DEAD, THE VEIL WAS RENT FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. GOD TRULY HAS FEELINGS.
This is exactly how i perceived it, the Father shared his grief with mankind, but somehow we continue to miss it! I didn't know exactly where the Bible mentions the tearing of one's clothes as a sign for mourning, so thank you.
I think it's pretty obvious he was doing what I do when I have my guitar in my hand under such circumstances - I take my cell phone off my music stand and follow along with my bible app.
I had never heard about this. Thank you Jesus! Thank you pastor for informing us, the ones who were not properly informed.
Thank you for answering my question .Pastor Begg on this knowledge
GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHTEST!
