i just bought the ideapad pro 5 14 inch gen 9, with the AMD 7 8845hs, 16 gb, RTX 3050 6 gb, 1 tb ssd. Its a very well built laptop. I use it for, studying, private administration, photo- and video editing. I dont play games (for that i have a pc with my ryzen 7 7800x3d) I think its pretty good for these tasks. I never hear the fans. The screen is really good and the wifi is fast and stable and the battery life is decent. Its a pleasure to work this laptop, highly reccomended.
Thinking of getting either this or a Vivobook with Ryzen AI 365. Are you able to only use the integrated graphics when using casually to save battery? Also how's the keyboard?
I think you'd need optimus for that, and that's only in gaming laptops (I think, might be in some high end thin too). Though I'm sure it won't feed full watt to the GPU When it's not used, and frankly you can put it in lower performance mode to make it clock it down.

@@alexisblanc1795 I have the IPS one and it's pretty good, the colors are good not on the OLED level and it's not a screen for professional color work but it's still good and because it's IPS he should'nt have the burn-in effect, it's anti reflection so no issue here, the brightness is ok (350 nits) not amazing but it's fine to me. So no issue here it's pretty good screen.

It's a 2K (1600p) screen so no problem for text clarity, and same for color everything work on my side (it's not a screen for professional color work, but for a little bit of gaming with the 120hz refresh rate, task that don't need professional color screen and everyday task it's pretty good).

Yeah seems so. Though I've read some having issues with this laptop on Reddit. And yoga series seems to be a step up in terms of quality for similar price. For $150-200 more they got the 4050 model. Though the Yoga Pro 7 with 3050 and 8845hs can be found for $350 less w/ open box. @TechGuyBeau

@@nikhilrmahi I think i9 is a bit of an overkill for most use cases (including gaming, editing) + the cpu overheating is gonna be a huge issue especially on a laptop. No point getting the i9, if it gets heat throttled to i7 performance. Save the money, upgrade the ram or storage

For the price, I think its a fair value at 1200 CAD. Metal + Oled will increase the cost. Not everyone wants to game and 3050 can do pretty decent video editing.

@@Sheelsindhu77907 On the long term they conduct and transfer electricity which might get to the metal parts of the laptop (possibly due to rubber and plastic parts wearing out which are supposed to prevent the contact), I've used a few laptops that did the same thing and the metal wrist rest area became impossible to touch due to electric shocks, HP ones to be specific. That's just my experience maybe they enhanced or fixed it but personally I would never take the risk again.
Should i go to the for the yoga or this ideapad. I wanna use for design and development i like a the idea of be thin as yoga but 14'' its a little bit disapointing. I dont know if someone could give their opinion im available to listen. this one is little bit less expensive then yoga but i dont know what i should chose
If you’re looking at a 14 inch and you want a little bit more power check out my review of the Lenovo slim seven Pro. It has a similar form factor to the yoga that has more robust performance

depends on ur use case for the laptop. If ur using it for gaming or as a workstation, getting the tuf is better cuz better cooling, battery life not as impt, rgb keyboard & overall better asus software for managing ur game related components. If ur using it for school or office work, getting the ideapad is better cuz better build quality, portability, battery life, webcam. Personally I'd go for the lenovo, obviously for the oled & build quality.
