Shinedown is at the very top when it comes to passion, authenticity, and emotion. Very far up there in talent too. Saw them live twice, if you ever get the chance to do so, do it. You will not regret it.
Man when he was talking about someone not being defined by your failures made me well up and cry been having so many issues my life really was a good pick me up thanks so much for this really helped me through this night ... more of a Shinedown fan more than I was ... love music that comes from the heart
I love Shinedown and him talking about this hits home I was also a addict and was scared to write new music sober it hits hard this helps me a lot thank you Brent Smith!
I literally need to meet Brent, he's a total advocate and a preacher all in one. He's an idol for sure! I love his aspect of life. I'm struggling with alcohol addiction, he does and is paving my road to recovery. I'm simply enlightened to say the least mr. Smith
I've been struggling a little with being sober and writing music too. It all becomes intertwined somewhere down road. EDIT: I'm now 4 months into sobriety, working out everyday, and the creativity/ ability to create has come back 10 fold. Just gotta keep pushing forward and keep digging down.
I'm sorry but, The Sound of Madness tour was my absolute favorite!! I used to have a concert video from Washington I watched it hundreds of times and I thought it was incredible!! Would love to find it again but I haven't been able to, what happened to it?
Honestly my last favorite album from shinedown was the sound of madness lol so aftee he got sober i wasnt very interested in his musuc. Favorite albums were first album and the us and them album. Preach brent 👌✌
The Grease Grizzly you should try them again, Threat To Survival is their worse album and How Did You Love is just so generic and everywhere. I would recommend you listening to their first album Leave A Whisper, my favorite track Start Over is on it.
@jacktaylor1758 Any of there songs are going to be played alot. You do realize How Did you Love was what Brent was thinking when he had a bad night on the alcohol and benzoes. He said in other interviews he fell to the floor and thought he was going to die.
If you don’t like shinedown why would you click on a SHINEDOWN video and one that’s over 30 minutes at that? Just wondering...just curious not mad just asking out of pure curiosity
i’ve written a full album sober. I had a crush on a girl for 2 years and she rejected me. I usually write my songs on that place i asked her to be my girlfriend because i want the pain to translate to the lyrics, Maybe i should try writing something drunk for a change
Is that what's been different these last couple albums? He might have been right. Amyrillus(probably butchered that spelling lol) was their last good album honestly.
Lol, he's right about one thing. Pretty much everything he's written since getting sober has been shit. Good for him getting clean, but Jonathan Davis did it too, and their music is just as good now as it was back then. Brent's new stuff is just boring radio pop.
@the goddamn darknight .You try writing music and showing the world. Lord knows you most likely wouldn't be that good. At least he actually succeeds to inspire people. Yet here you are wasting your time on trash talking someone who's music you don't need to listen to. I'd like to see you're failure.
I love how honest Brent is, Shinedown is such an awesome band !!!!😊😊😊😊😊

That is so precious, having raw and real emotions that shaped meaningful songs!!!

Thank you Brent, Monsters spoke to me and my sobriety in the most important way!
Thank you for being so open about your journey Brent. I hope others will be inspired by your story

I see that alot and now I'm getting better with that when people tell me that they hate my drawing
Awesome show at Rocklahoma 2019! ❤🤘

After, wasn't, and music. Go to school and learn how to spell.
Simply because of how often I hear "how did you love" on every rock station I will not listen to Shinedown. But the dude sounds nice

Shinedown is radio banned

The only thing wrong in that spelling is the u would be replaced by an a.
I agree man, their last great album is Amaryllis. 🙌
He just said he wasn't sober at all with TTS. He got back on drugs and Alcohol so wouldn't you like that album also.
I dont think I could write shinedown music sober either I mean have you heard shinedown?! Lol

Is that why Attention Attention was horrific garbage? Threat to Survival was a masterpiece. Wtf happened?
they cant ..
First 2 albums where awesome! Then guitarist Jasin Todd left the band, and since then the music sucks...
You just don't have good taste in music.
Well his music sucks sober and drunk so who cares
🖕
Yeah man.I cant even take it seriously. Its so corny sometimes I think there joking.
Derek Gagnon 😘😘
