I discovered this beautifully crafted work in the Baltimore inner harbor (B&N) book store totally by accident about 15 years ago and the title alone answered a question I'd had since my college days... Thus I became even more inspired to do as instructed in 2 Timothy 2:15 which says, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” I'm often not understood, but I am Not ashamed!

After catching a few of Asha's vids out here she inspired me to buy AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI. I figured if George Harrison said it changed his life - it would have to have some kinda effect on a dolt like me - and boy did it - it was like a SPIRITUAL SLEDGEHAMMER over my head!
I'd never thought a Hindu Master would give me a better understanding of the Bible and of Jesus and his teachings. I went in blind - but boy what a surprise - I was astonished how Christ-centric this Hindu master was and what respect he had for Jesus.
I was figuring he was gonna go all Krishna in his bio - never expected a Jesus Groupie, lol! For this long lapsed Italian Catholic Goomba from Brooklyn Yogananda actually made Jesus a greater presence in both my heart and life - simply amazing - like forgeddaboutit!
So right after I finished Autobiography I purchased this 2 volume set on the New Testament / 2nd Coming.
This set should be kept right next to your Bible. Listening to it - it kinda goes in one ear and out the other. Nothing like reading to absorb and retain the essence of Yoganada's interpretation of Christ's teachings. READING IS THE EQUIVALENT TO MEDITATION - your mind is focused intently. Listening is for the lazy.
Honestly, You'll want to underline and highlight on every page! Until you read Yoganada's interpretation of Gospel you won't know how much flew over your head when you were reading the Bible - well, at least for me - bc while no Einstein - I ain't no Joe Biden either!
I just simply didn't understand the metaphysical depth of most of Jesus' teachings & Bible verse - "I had eyes but could not see." - until I read his 2 volume set - and boy did it open my eyes, mind, & heart. It's like the New Testament to the 1000 POWER!
Do yourself a favor - if you're serious about better understanding and living Jesus's teachings DON'T LISTEN TO THIS - BUY IT (cheap on Amazon)!

Experiencing divinity directly through yoga meditation is the key. I spent so long exploring all the intellectual arguments but didn't progress until I took the self-realization fellowship meditation techniques.
Im disappointed to find out there don't have Kriya Yoga centers all over. Im in NYC and they have zippo. So you recommend the online meditation program?

Wow! Amazing "find" for me. Had this 2 volume set for years! Great to hear it read aloud. Next, you should do "God Talks to Arjuna" 2 to volume set. It's amazing as well!
Thanks for your comment, but "God Talks to Arjuna" would have a listening length of over 50 hours. So I think it is rather unlikely that I will produce it.

@@johnm.4655 Maybe we have different versions. Another problem is the many non-English words, which can lead to many pronunciation errors, and the listeners here have been very critical so far. In the comments there are often more complaints than thanks, so it would be a very thankless job to create this audiobook, so it doesn't motivate me to put a lot of work into it. Maybe from November, I'll have more time then, if another audiobook channel hasn't already published the book by then, as there are so many audiobook channels here on YT.

SRF? (Self-Realization Fellowship?) I’ve never read it, but I’ve seen a lot of older books changed in places, as I have some, but I don’t have this 1.

I had been reading the 2-volume paperback, sleeved in cardboard when I discovered this audio. It is NOTHING like the print, First Edition 2004, 17th printing 2017. My print doesn’t use chapters it has Discourses with subtitles. For example, after a long preface and introduction the first Discourse is titled “Divine Incarnations: God’s Emissaries.” The first subject being, “The Mission of Divine Love That Jesus Came to Fulfill”. I’m truly disappointed and confused as why they are not the same text.

I read Vol. 1 some time ago and was excited when I discovered this audio book. On listening to it, it seemed off a bit and to me not anointed as the actual text published by SRF. I began to compare the two and determined (at least for myself) that it is heavily edited. I don't see the SRF trademark on this audio book so question it's functional use. It does not include much of the original text which was/is of very meaningful and anointed instruction to me. I am returning to the text as published by SRF. That said we all get to where we need to be by various roads. God Bless.
