My Dad's Casio watch that i was using wouldn't work ( second hand was moving back and forth, ) tried finding tutorials but all of them were in vain, till i found this. God sent brother, i am grateful for you and i will pray good things for you. My gratitude, thank you and God Bless!

I got an old citizen ana-digi chronograph that won't move. Display is dead. I suppose a magnet might free the movement but would erase any electronics in there for the other functions?

Excellent! My Seiko Quartz 5y23-8a69 (Blue dial) was giving me issues years ago, and a new battery years ago did not fix it. I mean like 20 years ago? And I was not going to pay to have it serviced.
Today I put a new battery in it myself (along with a few other quartz watches I own after buying a watch case removal tool kit and watching several videos), and saw the stuck second hand at the "10" position, twitching, but not moving forward, just like 20 years ago. Shaking and bumping the side did nothing to help. Your advice about the magnet fixed it!
I do suspect there is some gummed up grease or debris in or at that axle/wheel (or whatever it is), and if it sticks again, I will need to consider sending it to somebody who knows how to clean that movement, but not for a lot of money. Might as well buy a new watch nowadays for what services cost.
Thanks so much for your short and perfectly helpful video! 'Hope this fix stays fixed.
    Cheers!

Thanks, I had to use a few drops of mass air flow cleaner on my movement to clean it first. Then a lot of work with the magnet to get an old rectangular Kenneth Cole that's sentimental to me finally working. Happy.
