About "Raga Charukeshi":
Although a Carnatic raga, it is a common belief that raga Charukeshi is a new entrant to Hindustani Classical Music. It exists in the Hindustani style as Raga Chandramauli, but was probably popularised by the Carnatic style & therefore has become popular as Charukeshi
It is a sampurna raga with Re, Ga as sharp (teevra) notes & Ma, Dha, Ni as Flat (komal) notes- Due to the chalan of the raga, there are nuances of the Bhairav Ang, so many artists perform this raga in the morning.
But traditionally, Charukeshi or Chandramauli has the Kaushik Ang which is dominant thus:
Re Ga Ma Pa, Ga Ma Dha Ni Sa. Sa Ni Dha Ma, Ma Ga Pa, Ma Pa Ga Ma Re Sa
This raga has Ma & Ni as its Vadi & Samvadi swaras. Raga Chandramauli or Charukeshi as it is known today is a late night melody.

though maturity come with age in music, but shri sugato has beautyfu;;y played it by giving
melodius touch to the important notes of rag charukeshi.and the personality of raga is beautifully manifested. v. good

Yes, a very nice performence in our house, played Sugato Bhaduri in our house. His Tabla Player was Om-Prakash-ji*.

This mandolin has eight strings in sets of four unisons like a typical mandolin, except it is tuned lower in pitch. Also the body is bigger and deeper. Perhaps it is a Mandola, which is bigger and lower in pitch than a mandolin. The members of the mandolin family corresponds to the violin family. The mandolin, mandola, and mandocello correspond to the violin, viola, and cello respectively.
Some mandolins have arched tops, but this one would be considered a flat top mandolin.

Sunderaner= Sundara in Sanskrit, was so viel wie wunderschön heißt. Krishna wird auch Shyma Sundara genannt.

Very Beautiful! Could someone please tell me what type of mandolin this is?I Assume there are some different types?
I did not know about Chandrmouli until I heard in youtube, flute played by immortal pt Pannalal Ghosh; it has komal ga, komal dha & shuddha Ni, way different from Charukeshi; Charukeshi is somewhat similar to raga Charukauns not Chandramauli

simply he had very often to tune his Mandoline; there was accutally nothing taken out!
