In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that the stock market is doing so well right now only because he is, as he put it, "leading in all the polls." President Trump has been citizen Trump for almost three and a half years. It has been more than three years since Donald Trump left office as president of the United States, meaning that he has not implemented any policies, he has not had any executive orders, he has done nothing but basically get indicted and hold idiotic rallies for more than three years. So that's why it's a little shocking when this week, once again, 'cause it's not the first time he's done it, he actually took credit for the economy doing so well, specifically the stock market. Donald Trump got on truth social and said this, the only reason the stock market is high is because I am leading in all of the polls. I don't win. We will have a crash of similar proportions to 1929. So if Donald Trump doesn't win this election, he tells us we're heading right back into the Great Depression version two.
And of course, things are going well now because he is leading in all the polls, even though as I've, um, repeatedly said, he, he's not actually leading in all the polls. He's leading in some polls. Sure, but even in those polls, it's still within the margin of error. So it is statistically tied. Not to mention the fact, as I've also repeatedly point out, you can look at these polls all day long and Biden will be up, Trump will be up. What matters is what's happening out there in actual voting scenarios. And Democrats are overperforming in every single special election. And of course, Donald Trump is underperforming in the Republican primary where he's the only active candidate. So I don't believe those polls for a second. And trust me, neither does Wall Street. Donald Trump's lead in some of the polls is not what's causing the stock market to do better.
What's causing the stock market to do better is that inflation has cooled a little bit and the unemployment rate has gone way down, which means more people are working, which means more people have money, which means more people are buying things, which means stock prices go up because companies are doing better. It's as simple as that. Like that is literally what is happening in this country right now as the stock market reaches record highs. But Donald Trump wants his hands on that Wall Street money. That is one of the few areas where Donald Trump has not been able to make any inroads in this campaign. In fact, people on Wall Street, you know, the big time conservative, uh, donors on Wall Street have made it clear. We don't like the guy. In fact, they had all kinda lined up behind Nikki Haley, some of them behind Ron DeSantis. And actually this week it was also reported that DeSantis is now, now that he and Trump have patched things up, of course, trying to reach out to some of
His donors in Wall Street saying, Hey, please come on, give this guy some money. Look what he's done for you. But Trump didn't do this. Trump led this country into a recession. Even before COVID existed, economists were already telling us that we were heading into a recession. Covid came along and made that recession hit a lot faster than anybody could have predicted. But even without it, we still would've hit a recession because of Donald Trump's policies being so horrifically bad. Donald Trump is not good for the US economy. He is in fact very bad for it because throughout my entire lifetime, every time we've had a Republican president, oopsie, do we hit a recession, and then every time what happens, we have to elect a Democrat to come along and fix it.
