I've watched this show from day 1 and to date in 2024 David Cook is till the single most genuine individual to be on that Idol. I'm so glad he won and I'm glad he followed his heart and didn't fall under the spell of producers, etc. He's a genuine musician and talent.
I see him tearing up and I still want to run up to him and give him a huge hug. Knowing what he was dealing with, Adam being so sick with cancer, but David is so open and wears his heart on his sleeve. He will always be my favorite idol.
I could not believe how beautiful this performance was and how vulnerable David was singing it. This performance won him The 7th Season American Idol Winner. Only someone that is true to themself & an artist and not afraid to show his emotions can stand on stage in tears. .
I'm not an emotional person, but I remember rewatching this performances the morning of David winning, and I'll admit I got a little misty eyed. Something about David always clicked with me, always got me emotionally attached. I miss American Idol being this way. David was just so very special.
This was gorgeous. My favorite so far--but I haven't listened to "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" or "I Still Haven't Found" yet, and those are favorites of mine. But I'm going to listen to this one again first.
there's something about him that didn't match... his face was denying his eyes... the faces he made were haughty, not a bit as humble as his tears that he shed... he did not look sincere... he mostly looked acting it... he was feeling defeated from the words that Archuleta told him, because Archie was really really humble from week 1...Cook said "Whatever I say now is going to look..." he felt defeated by Archuleta's humbleness... thou the judges declared it, that it was a knock out, the callings, which paid the show, gave Cook the victory...

Standing in his 'Truth".. w the most vulnerability I have ever witnessed... emotionally naked ..sharing & trusting ... amazing!
This gives me tears every single time I hear or see his performance of it. I love emotional David. Just want to smish him!

i think what hurt davod cooks post idol success was the white guy with guitar winners in future seasons
@@sonnychauhan1447 Unfortunate, but true. He got lumped in with all of them, when he deserved to stand on his own.
Love D’s (Version) 🎶 ;) ❤
