SVA NYC Features Joe Sinnott

Comic book legend and early SVA student Joe Sinnott inked virtually every major Marvel title from the 1950s through the 1980s, with notable runs on The Avengers, Fantastic Four and Thor. And how great that SVA made this video! I have friends who graduated from there, I met Alex Katz there when he was on a lecture panel in the late 70’s and then worked for him, the placed changed my life even though I went to Pratt.

Stan Lee and Jack Kirby had great chemistry on FF, but when Joe Sinnott came onboard that brought the characters ALIVE for me. It was then that I understood how vital of a role the inker was for a book.. The Thing in particular was much more sharply defined. Thank you, Joe. You are a hero to a lot of us who grew up in the 60s and 70s
