hi i will be in warsaw in 3 weeks. which part of warsaw is the best place to stay? thanks
@@johnlingtravels5041 Śródmieście near to Metro Świętokrzyska or Metro Centrum, but in general a left side of Wisła (river) is better for the tourist attraction (Old Town & Centrum). Wilanów area is also nice (Palace in Wilanów).
Go to the Warsaw Uprising Museum. All of my American friends who visited always left in awe/shock.
Finally some Warsaw appreciation. The most underrated city in Europe for sure!
Man I love your content as a polish person, it's always good to hear someone glazing Poland even if it is not always true. Also i think that racism in Poland works like, for example i would say something racist while hanging out with my friends, but i do not really think that and i don't have anything against people of other races or culture, so the stereotype that Poland is a really racist country is not really true and some people from west just don't understand a joke and are too oversensitive.
Polish People is Racist So Simple it is If You Like It Or Not Some People Dont Show you Direct Racism But They Are
The thing about Warsaw is that the longer you live here, the more you will like and appreciate the city.
oh hell no, after living two years in warsaw, i ran away as fast as i could XD all my friends who lived there hated it as much as i did
@@Telashar you were probably a pizza delivery guy
I thought it was pretty boring as most cities are but I am wiling to give it another try. Heading there this spring or fall to get away from the crowds. There’s probably more there I just need to discover it. It would be a more livable city but for the weather, coldness and cloudiness.
@ what did you hate about Poland and do you speak Polish to get a decent job? If you don’t speak local language, then you can’t really experience any country in a meaningful way.
More and more the city is getting impossible to live in for normal people
Good decision. Warsaw is best for you and it has your positive energy. 😎
Get your own silver plate button ugh
Love you bro
That backpacker ben dude was so chill lol. If it ain't broke don't fix it for real.
Crazy coincidence, I actually live in the same building you did the walkthrough of lol. Used to live in Colombia as well but Warsaw is an amazing city, and I totally agree about the language part. Spanish is a breeze compared to Polish. Networking here is top tier though.
Hi Wes, I might at times disagree with your ideas of the world, but I have to say, I like your relentless optimism and I always enjoy your new ideas and topics! It’s never easy to do. Good luck with your channel and I will continue to watch!
Welcome to Warsaw! Witamy w Warszawie!
LET's GOOO 🔥
Soooo happy for You!! Crossing my fingers ❤
Good luck in Warsaw, Wes
Good luck in Poland / Warsaw all the best :)
Happy for you to join the Warsaw family Wes! Looking forward.
Bardzo fajny materiał
Welcome to Warsaw, Wes!
Great content...Welcome to Warsaw! Hope to see you on the dance floor or around the city
Welcome to my home town. I hope you'll get comfortable here.
Backpacker Ben, thats someone I wasnt expecting here. Who’s next? Bald and bankrupt? 😅
Did not expect to see Backpacker Ben in this vid
What I like about Warsaw the most is actually the places where you can chill in summers, particularly riverside. Plaża Wilanów/Wilanów Beach (aka Zawadowska, as it is next to Wał Zawadowski on the left bank) in the south is the biggest beach which people never believe me is in Warsaw when I'm showing them pictures. There is also Romantyczna beach across it on the right bank, it is tiny, but you can make some picturesque photos there during sunsets. For the northern direction it kind of starts from Northern Bridge/Bridge of Marie Skłodowska-Curie. Both banks are fine, right one has occasional pub and beach, but its more like a bit of sand with a narrow path to the water (if any), generally an embankment walkway to stroll on/ride a bike with occasional stops to chill or eat/get a beer, while on left bank there is Młociński park which is more like a piece of a forest to cool off in summer (or better yet, south of the bridge there is Bielański forest). There is a ferry between right bank and Młocinski park, there can be a long line for it, but if not it actually is a nice ride to take vid/pics from as it doesn't just go straight left to right, but travels down/up stream for a bit. Also there might be a ferry between the mentioned southern beaches, but I've never managed to catch it, and last year it was completely absent due to low water level. For a bigger body of water there is about 30min train (SKM) ride to Nieporęt which is at the southern end of Zegrzyńskie lake. Although I would suggest to go further and check the other ends in other cities/villages for actual swimming, as the southern part (where the public beach is) has disputable quality of water. There is a big desolate beach in tiny Rynia on the right bank just above a commercial one, it feels like time stopped in the 60s or 70s there (with unfinished and abandoned resort at that).
While looking for apartment you need to keep in mind one thing - the closer to the center, the more time will everything cost you.
Amazing content Wes, like always.
Love seeing u in Warsaw
This is your crib Wes, you may know it soon 😂 Witamy w Warszawce ❤❤❤
Welcome mate!
my favourite chinese restaurant in warsaw has to be china town on aleja lotnikow! one of the oldest ones in warsaw too, try it out
People here don’t respect you because you’re rich. We respect you regardless. Period
im sitting in warsaw watching another guy walking warsaw
Witamy w Warszawie :) It is a great place for sure.
Welcome to my city! ❤
Oh you will have right next to the Asia-Pacific Museum. It's almost like you're staying with family 😉
I love how you praise Warsaw 😎
As you probably noticed in Cracow they won't do that.
Of the Chinese restaurants in Warsaw I could recommend Bliss on Mariensztat. It's an old and family style restaurant, the owner used to welcome guests but I don't know if he's still alive because I haven't been there for 4-5 years and it might have deteriorated, but you could check.
I am amazed how much Poland has developed. I left in 2004. I am very happy that is developing and attracting new people. In 1920 Warsaw was called “the Pearl of Europe” before it was destroyed during the WWII Now, it’s back on its feet again.
so now we are neighbors xdd good luck and enjoy the city
Immigrants praising lowkey racism in Poland is hilarious, I genuinely laughed. Really happy you like your stay here in Poland, keep it up!
co w tym śmiesznego niby?
Proszę się tak nie spinać😂
I agree with the host: America is the most racist country. Japan is next. Have you ever been to Poland btw? 😊
Good luck :)
the first step to ruin a good thing is to start advertising it to everyone
People have already been doing it before me. At least I show the good side of it
Warsaw - its good choice! Apartment by Trasa W-Z may be noisy but location is perfect - in the heart of city
Go for Browary Warszawskie if you can find an apartament there, it really is the best place to live in Warsaw.
@@alh6255 👍👍😊😊
a large city is a relative concept, because Chinese cities can be the size of an entire European country, so you have to calculate it proportionally to the density of the nation, there are 40 times more Chinese than Poles, so their cities can be that many times bigger, Warsaw is just right for Europeans
As a Londoner, I disagree. Warsaw's small, Krakow is tiny. Lublin, Kato, etc are barely cities. Lodz is basically just that one main street with all the shops and restaurants and then just a load of rundown tenements and blocks 😂
Poles don't really have the stomach for big cities on a western scale - not a funny little place like Berlin or Warsaw, a big city like London. Poles ultimately have a very small town /village outlook on life. That's why they mostly hate Warsaw, which is a big city to them, and prefer Krakow.
Yo i was just staying in Vonder in December, the kitchen with food to cook in the common area is a steal imo.
I recommed the expat events on Meetup - good way to meet people here
You put wrong Polish flag in the title.

Welcome to Warsaw! A small tip from a longtime follower: sound matters. In this video sound levels go up and down a bit too much, it was difficult to watch.
Noted. Got a new camera, still adjusting

So why Backpacker Ben didn't do any video about Poland if it's his favorite 🤔🙈
Andziaks and Luka used to live in that building. 😅
lol... the Polish version of the Ace family 😆
Waiting to hear the dirt on them in a couple of years.
Has he visited Rome, Madrid, Paris, Barcelona, Lisbon, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, London, Valencia…
I miss Warsaw so much! Hope you will like it there.
But it is not 100% safe there, so please do not put completely your guard down.
I wonder what Warsaw's Chinese restaurant you will like the most.
I am planing on going to study engineering there. Do you think it is a nice place for students? Thanks
Depends on what you are looking for but I would much rather prefer to study engineering in the Netherlands or Germany if I was you but you would probably need to know German
@@Caesar2001 Looking for a big/moderataly big city with things to do, like going out, walk around the city, meet new people, lot of stundets like myself.... But it has to be budge tfriendly. I was thinking maybe Warsaw or Germany or even Madrid in Spain. Netherlands is one of my favourite countries but it gets a little bit expensive. I would love Utrecht.
There are thousands of foreign students in Warsaw
as a Polish student welcome. Additionaly polish engineering experts have quite a reputation so it might be a good idea.
i agree
I've never been to Poland and seriously considering Warsaw as a new place to base myself. But the reasons i'm looking to move are air pollution and i'm seeing Warsaw ranking in the top 10 polluted cities, is this the case on the ground? Looking at AQI, Poland seems to be the only EU country struggling with this.
It is definitely a big issue in Poland . The air quality can get really bad in winter. In the city it’s usually fine, it’s worse in the suburbs where there are some old houses heated using coal.
huh, is it a spoiler for Ben's next videos? He doesn't have a single video about Poland on his channel :DD
You such handsome sweetheart ❤
We are returning to a Łazieńki Warszawskie period I guess
The most underrated city in is Lublin though for sure, should visit the city center at least once I'd say.
What abaut your Polish, Wes? Any progress? :)
I'm taking lessons now. Will show progress soon
W collab
Będę się za modlił
Guys, I think he's gonna transition
👍
Do you know any ordinary Polish people or just rich foreign RUclipsrs?
I have a lot of polish friends
Judging by the title alone you mean Kraków, if it's not, you might as well stay there.
Dude, I have to say - Warsaw is a good fit for most.
But there are also a lot of great cities in Europe. Warsaw is growing but it's not a big city like London or Barcelona.
In Poland Warsaw is the most expensive city.
Largely due to a lot of Ukrainian economic migrants driving up costs.
As for your boy there - I've seen him around Wola / Grzybowkska where I live 😆
London us shit hole
I beg you stay Poland, it's a utopia and I want to return there too
Yeah, utopia if you love seeing graffiti from football hooligans, dog crap and empty vodka bottles everywhere 😂 in no utopia do lazy, smelly old men sit around in parks drinking alcohol from the morning time
What is Orsaw? :) Now, Warsaw is of a size of the fifth largest U.S. City after NYC, LA, Chicago, and Houston. A small city? Really? Cracow is almost as big as San Francisco...
Tbh that dude gives of an vibe of "spoiled prince", so no wonder that Cracow is too small for him.

Leaving Kraków ? Why?
Because Warsaw suits him better. I also prefer Warsaw, although I also like Krakow ((where I spent 5 years) very much, as well as Wroclaw and a few other beautiful Polish cities.
What was the rent per month?
Kamal jest zajebisty.
Hungarian is even more difficult, Polish and other Slavic languages (ie Czech, Slovak, or South Slavic Serb/Croat, Bulgarian etc.) will be hard for you if you do not know any from that group. They are different between themselves but have common root and often similar grammar, often slightly different vocabulary or even false friends. Still need a 3mth-1year for ie a Pole to learn other Slavic language. Stick to English, Poles likes to practice
No, Hungarian is a relatively simple language once you learn a few simple and initially surprising and unusual (for Indo-European languages) rules. It is also not as rich in vocabulary or phraseological units. You don't know what you are talking about... Besides, the Polish dictionary is not "slightly different" from the Russian or Serbian dictionary, but very different from them, not to mention Bulgarian. Polish grammar is much more complicated than the grammar of other Slavic languages (even the very difficult Czech and Slovak are easier here). Polish grammar and orthography take into account, at least to the greatest extent, the history of specific words, their origins or former functions. As good mathematicians who find it easy to learn Polish grammar and orthography note, Polish is an extremely rich language (significantly richer than, for example, Russian) and at the same time exceptionally logical.
@alh6255 All depends where are you coming from, I wouldn't say I don't know what I am saying 😁 Hungarian is easy for speakers of Ugrofinic languages, Polish somewhat most challenging for South Slavs but works in the opposite way for us West Slavic, I understand Czech, Slovak even more. Those Cz/Svk saying they do not, were not exposed to it, I lived by the border, languages are different but could easily become fluent with a bit of work. I could even learn Croat, Bulgarian it is Slavic after all, lots of words have common root, yes different alphabet (I do know Cyrillic it helps) grammar and vocabulary, lots of sounds are shared. Point I was trying to make it you know one Slavic you can learn other Slavic, yes you have to put an effort less if within your branch of Slavic but work regardless, as oppose to learning Germanic, Romance language, maybe English is an exception due to its adoption and simple grammar, cultural popularity
@@maciej9855 I know what I'm writing about. I'm learning Hungarian because of my sentiment for this country and my friends there. And I assure you that it's a surprisingly simple language, with easy, uncomplicated grammar and simple rules that are easy to remember. As far as I know, Finnish is also very simple, although it differs greatly from Hungarian (but sounds similar), because these languages come from two separate Finno-Ugric groups and contain other borrowings (for example, Hungarian has many more borrowings from Greek and Latin, as well as from Slavic languages and German). Besides, in the group of Indo-European languages there are also exceptionally simple and easy languages, just as easy (for example, for an Asian) to learn as Hungarian - such a very easy language is, for example, Swedish.
@alh6255 Polish also has lots borrowed from Latin, German, all depends were you are coming from, may I ask what is your native language? I didn't say Hun is impossible to learn, you can but Hun is surrounded by the sea of Slavs so to speak, where there is a common denominator if you dig deeper. Hun has also lots from Turkish, must be from Ottoman times or dates back to Huns times
I sobie pomagacie. I zobaczyć Was z tak różnych zakątków świata obok siebie.
No factory job? 🫵🤣
No, no - surely you mean Gdańsk, or Wrocław - right? :D
In my opinion Warsaw isn't the best big city in Poland. I wouldn't like to live in Warsaw, because it is too big and I don't like estetics of its modern city center. Wrocław is smaller, but it seem to be really cosy. Everything important is closer and most part of the city looks like really well.
It is clear that you do not know Warsaw. And you're not writing the whole truth about Wrocław. First, about Warsaw: the city centre with its skyscrapers is only a small part of the city (but it is fascinating how nicely the streets around them are arranged). There are many various parts of Warsaw, and they have their own local and very nice specificity. More of them are really picturesque and atmospheric, not only the Old or New Town. And I assure you, you have a lot of important things (important offices, museums, exhibitions, nice restaurants, sports, beautiful parks) within 15 minutes of your home, whether by foot or using really good public transport. And now about Wrocław: the old parts of Wrocław are beautiful, just like Warsaw ones, and they are not any bigger then in Warsaw. A large part of Wrocław is not very pretty and is largely neglected. For example, to get to the Centennial Hall, you have to pass by some really hideous areas.
if you have money they will respect you lol

@@WheresWes Warsaw metro area is 3,3 milion, so close to just LA
@@halohalo3029 You're talking nonsense. You probably mean the entire public transport system in Warsaw, including city trains, trams, buses. The metro alone covers only the strict Warsaw, and even that's not all of it (an area inhabited by 1.3 million people)
@ Sorry, but you are talking nonsense my friend. I literally searched for a official Polish website of Warsaw and it states that Warsaw Metro Area (whole aglomeration) is 3,3 million, not talking about Metro / transportation...
@ You wrote: "Warsaw metro area is 3.3 million, so close to just LA". And you wrote comical nonsense. The Warsaw metropolitan area has 3.3 million inhabitants, but this metropolitan area is not the city of Warsaw (which has 1.8 million inhabitants). The metropolitan Warsaw area is the city of Warsaw plus several suburban cities. In addition, the Warsaw metro has only 2 lines, although long, but they only reach some parts of the city of Warsaw and definitely do not reach many other parts of city of Warsaw nor of course the suburbs. In other words, the Warsaw metropolitan area is different from the city of Warsaw, and the Warsaw metro area is different from the area of the city of Warsaw and of the Warsaw metropolitan area. The metro area is smaller than the area of the city of Warsaw, and the area of the city of Warsaw is smaller than the area of the Warsaw metropolitan area. What's more, the city of Warsaw and each of the towns around Warsaw are different administrative units, although they are called (this is a conventional name, not an administrative one) the Warsaw agglomeration. Now do you understand?

That is not a polish flag!!!!
I was about to say the same thing, and that it's not Poland ball, but he changed it to the proper one.
I think Polish flag should have our eagle on it, the way it is now confuses too many people.
