Good filming, didn't even need to add background music, gracefully supplied by Nissan Motor Company. yeah its slippery as fuck out there lately, went for a walk to check it out, almost lost a volley in the bog.
Dam that's impressive mate I've done that track in my dmax on 33s and I know how big those ruts are plus in the wet well done. Even the raptor did well
Thanks mate ✌️I hadn’t been out there in years. It’s definitely more challenging these days. I’m going to have to go back to drive that big rock in the dry. I can’t let it beat me 🤣🤣
@@HappyGoTravel haha I did it In a unlocked dmax the winch earned it money that day lol. I'll be going out there again shortly got a 105 soild axle fount and back and rear air locker so yea some decent 33s mud tyres and it should be a massive improvement lol
Thanks mate, happy new year to you too ✌️. No override kit. I probably will eventually get one. What I find is it needs to actually slip the rears before it locks in. My guess would be it’s a safety thing. I find it fine, I only use it when I’m doing stuff that makes the rears slip so I don’t find any issues with it
Really good, the Raptor Ranger is unreal compared to the other ranger models. The suspension is on point, they stretch really good and ride unreal even with raised coils. This one is on 2” raised coils and 35’s. if it had a v8 it’d be perfect. The 10 speed compensates for the small motor pretty well to.
@@HappyGoTravel the steps on the raptor hang very low, removing them gives almost 2" extra clearance (around 1" with good rock sliders) not to mention OEM steps do very little for offroad rock sliding.
Thanks mate✌️. The rack can be a little noisy from time to time depending on what way the wind is blowing. I was glad I had it doing this track it protected the roof from so much. The only thing that is a pain is trying to clean the roof because it sits so close. I still think for the money it’s hard to beat.
@@thewombat7047 nah there’s still a track to the right. We actually took it we could barely stand in the hard line after all the rain with the white clay 🤣 the hard line is almost roof deep these days.
@@HappyGoTravel jesus christ I remember about 10 years ago you couldn't get past the tree without alot of fussing then the climb up was relatively easy and when it forks halfway up the right track had hectic ruts and left had a decent boghole
Nah I was L4 diff locked in rock mode. I didn’t even think of snow mode being slippery it is comparable. I honestly don’t think the different drive modes would have made much difference with the step I winched, it was just a tad to big with no traction
@@HappyGoTravel oh yeah, wasn't trying to tell you how to drive. Just curious is all, I recently discovered the Snow Mode and it helps me be more smooth on the steep tracks. I was struggling a little bit.
If you are a true 4WD enthusiast that gets out do the more remote tracks, then almost any vehicle you choose will get you further than a Raptor or a Y62.
Wow that's a very narrow minded statement. 4wding is very much an each to their own thing. some like remote touring, other rock crawling and the ones like me are just happy to be off road anywhere and in any 4wd

Hahahah it’s pretty wild out there when the vollys can’t even hang on 🤣🤣
Nice mate, your patrol sounds awesome 😎 .
I think I’ll wait for it to dry out to do this track , whenever that will be 😂
Thanks Shad. It’s definitely better in the dry. I often go against my better judgment 🤣
Nice drive. That exhaust rumble👍🏻.
I love the sound so much, still makes me smile every time I kick it
@@HappyGoTravel Sorting mine out next week. Local shop putting a high flow muffler in and 3” from the cats back
Nice, it’ll sound awesome
I have a raptor, I think they both did awesome
I honestly think the raptor ranger Is the best standard 4wd from factory. I’d just love to see a v8 or turbo 6 under the bonnet
Had to turn the volume down when the raptor was on.. that saying something.
That was probably a draw. I’m no Ford fan but that Raptor held its own with the Patrol.

Especially the patrol is there any need for the acceleration through the bog holes? Tears it up and gets the tracks closed for the rest of us
without a snorkel? you're game!
I actually checked the depths of the big puddles off camera. But the big girl definitely needs a snorkel
Great vid mate. Nice wheels on the raptor! What size?
Thanks mate, they are Method 312s with a 35x12.5
Nice one mate, happy new year :) How are you finding the rear locker ? do you have the override kit ?

Thanks mate ✌️ it’s a pacemaker with no rear muffler and secondary cat pipes. I did a vid on it if your interested
How did the ranger hold up compared to the patrol ? It may be my Ute of choice this year 👍

Was that raptor using his lock diff?
In the technical/ low traction places it was locked
Raptor still only comes with low GCM and towing,? It does have a more advanced 4x4 system over ranger, price 80k?
yeah it was around the 80k mark, it wouldnt be my first choice as a tow vehicle. but as far as a dual cab ute goes i like it
Which side did you enter from? Direction wise
5 ways end. The end closest to the tar road. You wouldn’t want to do it the other way
Wow that log used to be the hardest part now its nothing but a speed hump
