    My get home bag stays with me regardless of whose car I’m in. Any time I leave home I have my GHB. I like this bag and most of your contents except the $10 flashlight. My dad has gone through 10 of those things and I’m still using my $70 safariland after 6-7 years. A flashlight is one piece of equipment you don’t want to skimp on. I’ve also picked up the Streamlight flashlights that use cr123, AA and AAA batteries.

    Nicely stocked bag. Regarding the Sawyer Mini, I would suggest that you test out the connection of the filter to the water bottle you show. Not all bottles are compatible with the Mini, whereby they leak. The Smart water bottles are supposed to be the best fit. The Sawyer Mini requires a good deal of force to filter the water. I also have a Mini in my GHB, but based upon other reviewers, I will be changing it out for the Sawyer Squeeze, which requires much less pressure and has a greater volume per minute.

    I am little bit late to the party.. but I wanted to comment on the Sawyer filter: Make sure you prime it. While you could technically use them right out of the pack, it is strongly recommended that you prime them first. The water tastes and 'feels' funny for the first 10 or so time you run water through them.. hence they should be primed.
    With that being said, great and informative video.

    The bag needs a redesign imo. Due to the lower strap connection location, it causes the top of bag to tilt away from your body. They can eliminate that little sewn-on pouch on the top of the strap also. Bag is well-made, just needs some redesigning of the strap system so that the bag lays closer to ones body.

    • @BugoutChannel
      @BugoutChannel  3 года назад

      Great suggestion. I wonder if anyone has mentioned this or similar to 511. I really like their bags. Thanks for watching

    • @OX71
      @OX71 2 года назад

      Nope, I've owned and carried my moab6 since 2012, if you wear it correctly there doesn't need to be a redesign of the strap.
      Try this method , orient the bag so that it wears sideways on your back, the comms pouch should make contact with one or the other of your elbows when walking, when you pull the bag around to the front of your body, the bag should sit upright.
      This way, unzipping the comma pouch, admin portion, or main pouch should lay the contents of the bag open in the upright position.
      Owners of the bag have been complaining about the issue of the strap since its introduction, the 5.11 website pictures and videos do not help as they show the models wearing the moab 6 as a regular sling bag and that is the intuitive thing to do, after all that is how the moab 10 is worn.
      Just try my suggestion for orienting the bag and get back to me with your thoughts.
      I've also installed the included attachment straps to the front and side molle to use as cinch straps, that way if the bag isn't full to capacity it will lay flatter to the body

    I would throw in quite a few dust masks, as well. - I found after our big earthquakes in New Zealand 🇳🇿, back in 2010 - and 2011, we had heaps of liquefaction. And when it started drying out after a few days, th liquefaction dust was just blowing around everywhere. You really don't wanna be breathing that stuff, after all th broken sewer pipe leaks etc. Oh, and at least one change of clothes. ( Needed it with all the wet liquefaction). And Gumboots, our shoes got ruined fast. .....
    A few packets of dried foods help too, they're light and easy to carry. .....
    And we use a small solar charging/wind-up/ radio/torch 🔦. Also has duel mobile ph charging ports, and USB ports. (So handy if you've got yr charger, but nowhere to charge it. ) It comes with triple AAA batteries 🔋as well. We found candles and matches helped at night too.
    And don't forget to leave enough room for pet food, and pets medications you need to take with you's too. ....
    We were without power, water and flushing toilets for quite a few weeks. So some toilet paper 🧻is handy too.
    Just a few suggestions 😉.

    • @BugoutChannel
      @BugoutChannel  3 года назад +1

      Yes they would still work. Solar panels have a photovoltaic coating and are impervious to an EMP. cell phones actually have built in EMI protection. Between the EMI shielding and the tiny footprint, there is only a very very very small chance the phone will be damaged. People thinking smart phones (that aren’t plugged in) will be damaged is actually just myth based on uneducated assumptions.

    What is the weight of your complete go bag package, with water? The reason why I ask is that I've found sling-type bags to be EXTREMELY uncomfortable once the bag weighs more than just a few pounds. This package appears to weigh a significant amount more than I would be comfortable carrying for even 30 minutes. Have you tried carrying it with your full load for an extended period? Does it work for YOU? (which is really all that really matters, it's your bag and the system designed for YOUR needs) Thanks for sharing your perspective!

    Question, how do you tell the difference between bags? One says 40L other days 48 liter. I can’t picture 40 or 48L. How much difference is it? Certainly it doesn't mean a bag will hold 40 liquid liters. Difference of 8 litersit. Liquid is a good bit.. However, sound like so little you wouldn't notice it..

    $25 Solar panel will last you maybe a week and you can get more charge out of a 9volt battery. The $10 Flashlight is something I would never have. lighting is one of the most important tools in a B.O.B. and you get what you pay for, you can get a Bushnell or another good brand fro $25- $45 ... I can always tell someone that has never actually thrown on there go bag and got lost intentionally for a week. I grab my go bag and head to the woods at least a few days a week and a few weeks every year. Once you actually have to depend on your B.O.B., you will make a few changes...trust me.

      @@BugoutChannel - I'm SunnyBeachGirl on DLive... my cell phone is old & so is my laptop. I don't want 2 buy anything "smart", but, we don't have a choice now. URGH. I'm in WA state, like Adam/Marf... I don't know what 2 spend my money on... cuz.... well... I don't have a job. Apparently if you don't lie, one gets fired repeatedly ftom the Mortgage profession. Who knew in the "Ethics" section one cannot tell some1 2 not apply while they're in a Bankruptcy.... ya, "ethically" I'm 2 tell them 2 apply??!!?? I legally can't tell the truth. Soooio... I'm not employed right now.... so, that's fun. I can sell anything I believe in, as long as there's zero "hit this goal" pressure. One doesn't need 2 "sell" if they believe it's for good... My Grandma always said "you're in sales as a receptionist, Janitor, window cleaner, etc. YOU ARE IN sales regardless of your title"... I grew up in a family owned machine shop. Then long story... but, did get Presidents Award 4 Mechanical engineering... anyway, if I can help you let me know.... I've been pushing ur product, have a friend thst owns towing company.... but, I don't have enough specs 2 sell it 4 you.... (I'm the "I have 2 know almost everything" person & then sales are easy, like when I owned'ish & ran the roofing company)... ya... Barbie with a Blowtorch..... nieces and nephews gave me that nickname. Let me know how I can help.... I care about people, I'll do what I can 2 help you... just let me know..... text 206-915-2736 or Adam might have my emsil, because I've sent him emails b4. Thank-you for your FoogleFam Love. (I'm blind, so if there are spelling errors - send s complaint 2 Verizon autocorrect department... LOL!!😂🤣😂🤣)

    Bro I love mechanical pencils but this is a terrible application of them. You will not have lead, and once it runs out you now have a piece of janky plastic trash. Wooden Carpenters pencils, or a space pen all the way 👍

    I liked your video but do yourself a favor. Take all this brand new gear you purchased off the internet go out into the woods and use it. The great outdoors is a lot different than your living room floor. Best of Luck.
