“Growth in privacy until you feel the strength to share.” Now that’s a whole word!
I felt a shudder of confirmation.❤
"You don't have to know everything to do the thing that you know" #Ava DuVernay🙌🏽
I ‘rewound’ the video a few times to get that quote!! Amazing!!!
Listen….That SPOKE to me and Gave me so much Confidence!
A new quote for me to meditate on.
Smart woman who followed her intuition.
I’m so appreciative of the “A Sip” team for allowing us to view these conversations on RUclips
Me too!!! This conversation was pure gold 😍
Amen!!!
Two humble, beautiful, funny, talented black women.
Issa - I know you will not likely see this. I am 71 years old. I stumbled upon Awkward Black Girl in early 2011 & laughed for hours!!! Then, immediately sent it to my son & his wife, who were in their early 30's. They were so shocked their old mama hipped them to something so dope!!!! We shared many laughs watching those adventures. So cleaver funny!!! I'm so proud of you!!! Keep soaring!!!!❤❤❤❤
God whispers to us in many different ways. This is exactly what I needed to watch. Thankyou for the upload!
He sure does! Amen! For me he’s been yelling. I’ll pray in the morning and get my answer by evening loud and clear 😂😂 hallelujah
So beautiful! I truly pray that what you're praying for comes true. Keep walking in your path 🙏🏿
This is what I needed to read.
Agreed.
I’m going to meet Ava one day. Claiming it!
Yes!!!
“If this doesn’t work, my life’s not going to end.” Thanks for the reminder Ava D.
So amazing, two of the best in the art of film on the same stage. What an honor to have the opportunity to see these great minds connect!
I can't believe these woman are so underrated within the scope of interest on RUclips. They are truly living legends. I could listen to them speak all day. 🗣️ 🙊
💞💯
This woman!!! Love everything about this! "You don't have to know everything to do the thing that you know" Yes!!! I'll be coming back to this interview over and over again to recharge
Every Black Artist NEEDS to hear that! Sometimes we can feel so Insecure for not knowing EVERYTHING! But we have to remember that it’s a journey and a learning process!
@@MichaelTownz yes to all of this!!! She spoke to our souls and lifted us up!
Yessss Same!!!
I had the pleasure of meeting both of these women in the beginning of their journey, they were approachable and sincere. Issa was surprised that I knew who she was.
Ms. Ava Duvernay - your brilliance is so multifaceted!! You are literally anointed for this journey!!! Thx for sharing the grit it has taken to pursue your destiny. Also, you define GRACIOUS. You spoke for almost an hour about your journey of taking off the smelly coat & PUSHING yourself to your own path to success. Your careful, deliberately gracious response to the first question from the audience was...beyond grace. ❤👑💖
Ava is literally still the same person, same energy today. Just recently saw her breakfast club interview and her energy just so magnificent. Love these two women, they're so inspiring. I needed this to fill my spirit tonight.
Ava is so alive!!! I love how Issa is true to herself. Loving the excellence ❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Black excellence 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
exceptional conversation. "You don't have to know everything to do they thing you know'.
This talk is such a gem. Love it! Black Women Winning!
Sure thing
I Love that she is a grounded human being.
And represents an amazing journey for this wonderful Woman!!
Peace and Aroha from Aotearoa.
This is such a wonderful interview! As a Black woman who feeds off inspiration, this definitely filled me up today. #tribe
Being in a position to get approached for projects, that you are too busy to take, creates a great opportunity to refer them to someone else in your circle. “Oh, that sounds like a great project, unfortunately I can’t do it right now, but I know ______ who would be great. Let me connect you two.” Saying “No” opens up an opportunity for someone else to say “YES!”.
It's so great to see Issa fan girl over Ava. So.... We just all fan girling over each other?! 😭
My two faves
I took so much from this interview. I will remember everything they said in my creative career♥️
This was an excellent conversation both beautiful, strong women and I love how Ava is so kind and gracious and says thank you for peoples questions. This was great.

Loved this interview! Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
This was the inspiration that I needed.
I love African-American women like Ida B Wells, Isabel Wilkerson, Ava Duvernay, Nicole Hannah Jones, Michelle Alexander, Melissa, Victoria, Harris - Perry, formally known as Melissa, Victoria Harris - Lacewell, is an American writer, professor, television host, and political commentator, with a focus on African-American policies and politics (Who make a positive difference for us all to follow and emulate). You all make me proud African-American, and spark Joy in me and many others, and make the world a better place to live in for future generations! I loved Isabel’s masterpiece book the warmth of lovers other sons. Her book Caste did not get the recognition it deserves Because it cuts too close to the bone concerning what BIPOC lives with in the USA Today. Think You, Ava Duvernay for making that Recognition happen for Isabel Wilkerson. God bless you For being so wonderful and vivacious! You made my RUclips playlist.
I absolutely love this! Ava is so down to earth/real. Of course I love Issa's authenticity.
This was everything! Uplifting, hilarious, inspiring.
Love, love, LOVE Ava!! Her tenacity, talent and passion continues to transform the industry. This ‘Sip was delightful!

I found this really inspiring I am definitely in the broke phase on creating content, but I am going to view it as a time to take more chances and creating my own tribe.
I really enjoy Ava DuVernay's spirit. If I ever meet her I'd like to really just have a genuine conversation with her.
Phenomenal women
This was so amazing and came to me at just the right time. Thank you both for sharing everything you have thus far, and please continue to do so. It is incredibly helpful to people like me. I sm more inspired now than ever before. I CAN DO this!
There’s something in growth in privacy… until it’s ready to be shared.
Phenomenal
Thank you for this!! Didn't know I needed it but so grateful for the opportunity to consume.
Honestly, I think I wasn't agreeing with just asking people for insight, because I was afraid people didn't want to share knowledge and insight, so thank you That you told us that you want to be asked I do this, what is this, how should or could I do this. Like we are afraid people will try and little us because we want to do something that is just beginning, but I'm not scared now. I'll be asking you Ava AND Issa!
This the one
I hear @IssaRae doesn't have the time, but after watching 3-5 episodes, her line of questioning and pushing for more personal answers makes her a great host.
THIS IS SO INSPIRING THANK YOU SO MUCH *CRIES*
I’m so proud of y’all❣️
Womb, shower, devices, 10 minutes lol we escalated quickly
The last question was my favorite. Bravo ladies 👏🏾

She’s so incredible! I loved this interview the best! What are you doing? Studying? Take off that smelly coat 🧥 love that!
I believe being a little older my age, I care more of work in value becoming famous now that I am solid and more confirmed in who I amd my work are that I am more insured about me, and therefore am more independent, artistic, and free and bold and standing, not decieved, Issa I agree!
❤❤❤
Issa’s audio needed adjustment. Ava’s audio is way better! It’s nice and crisp!
Ava DuVernay. LOVE!!!! Please do Jonathan Majors next. Man I wish I was in the audience.
