You just can't go wrong with a Charvel. Been playing them since I bought my Model 4 new in 1987. I've now also got a '87 Model 6, a '89 750xl, a 2010 USA San Dimas and a 2011 So Cal. Love em all, but none can touch that first love of mine, the Model 4.
Holy Brad Gillis...I think I'm in love...lol. I have three Pro Mod So Cal guitars...Purple, Candy Apple Red, and Rocket Red. They are the most versatile guitars I own. I am sooo digging that Ferrari Red. It may be time to dent the old bank account.
I have one of these Charvel Pro Mod guitars and it and my 2 EVH Wolfgangs are my favorites. This is the epitome of a rock and roll guitar. Thing is built like a tank and will last a lifetime. Peace from Worcester....Wista!
Steve, You really make that guitar sound awesome. The color is fantastic. Thanks for another great demonstration. Love watching your channel. Stay safe and well and keep Rocking. Signed Zepbass.
Since 2018 i sold two of my gibson les pauls a '91 classic and '97 standard and instead ended up with san dimas charvel with JB/59. Ash body with maple neck and ebony fretboard. The neck is perfect has a great feel.
Tasty, Ebony on a Charvel is also a bonus . I dont have a single guitar with a pickguard, need to change that. The Pro mods are on par with the 2000's era USA's, and neither gets a pass on fretsprout . Ive got a White with Gold hardware DK24FR, it has the look.
Oh, God! What kind of karma did you earn to have free access to such beautiful looking and sounding guitars, and be able to shred them too? Good Lord! You must be some kind of saint! That’s it. Saint Steve, the Patron Saint of the Immaculate Jam.
Sweet guitar, but I hate to see scratchplate screws too tight. If the scratchplate material is too thin, I'd have to swap it out for something thicker.
That does look bad. First thing you notice - over torqued pick guard screws or thin cheap plastic. For a high quality guitar you'd think someone in quality control would fix that.
Looks cool, how's the neck? I had a San Dimas 2017 and just couldn't get used to the neck, too flat contour and 10 to 16 radius, that's just too much for me
I 100% agree with you. I have my eye on the Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas style 1. Basically the same guitar without a pick guard, in white with a maple fretboard and chrome hardware. All you NEED and nothing more. I have 10 guitars I actually use but none can cover everything I play ...this could.
This guitar could be my answer to morphing my les Paul with my Strat. Can switch from the Police spanky clean , Zepp, Talking heads. Bon Jovi. It’s also got the Brad Gillis Vibe.
Any guitar that is similar to a 1986/87 Kramer Pacer Deluxe that is produced today? This seems close, but you can't tap or split the coil on the bridge Humbucker
8lbs is about average for a Mexican So Cal, the DK's have the smaller body so if anyone wants something a little bit lighter from charvel thats where you should look.
Great video, Was having a chat with Buddy, he said it would be cool if you could hang onto them a little longer and use in your live show. Or keep the best of the batch for a live show demo..

I have a 1986 all original model 4, Kahler bridge, love it.
The ebony fret board looks so good on that guitar. 😊

I bought one and returned it. Super heavy guitar! I couldn't have that thing around my neck for more than 30 minutes LOL
Brad Gillis vibe with that one. I love it!!
That is one beautiful guitar. Love Charvel
Steve thanks for featuring this guitar. I justed purchased this one yesterday.
I have one of these Charvel Pro Mod guitars and it and my 2 EVH Wolfgangs are my favorites. This is the epitome of a rock and roll guitar. Thing is built like a tank and will last a lifetime. Peace from Worcester....Wista!
I have the San Dimas Pro Mod in purple with ebony board. Great guitars! I love mine.
Mine is the red quilt with H/H and an amazing maple neck its everything a shredder should be
Love the guitars of the week steve. You're the man keep up the great work. Love from Ireland 🤘 🎸 🇮🇪
Great throwback to the 80's there. Why does it look like they torqued the pickguard screws down with an impact driver?
Beautiful guitar great playing as allways and a great description of all the specs, 👏 from Ireland 🇮🇪
Excellent review (and playing). I have same model H-H in Slime Green-Love it
Another amazing guitar for this series! 😀
Sweet looking Charvel
Well done Steve…I would love to see Charvel put the “pointy” headstock on a few models…just because 🤘
They do! But on the custom shop models.
Lots of nice ones this year. I have played several of the new models. The necks are killer and the work is solid.

Charvels are beautiful guitars they also sound great as well I like the fender headstock on these guitars swesome.
Love that guitar
I'm definitely getting this guitar.
The thing holding me back on this guitar has been the maple fretboard. Now that i can get ebony im a buyer
Now THAT's a guitar !!
Love the GOTW segment!! Would love to see charvel add the contoured heel like the amPro II strats and Jim root charvel.

A natural, cool ! Interesting as always. Thanks, 🤘😁🎶

That alder body reminds me of my American Standard Strat. Thin layer maybe

Facts.. The Floyd's are nice rolled fingerboards and the pickups do anything you want from solid clean to soulful blues to shred to crunch
Yes, ALL on Ten 🔥👍

Beautiful guitar but I need that middle pickup... It's probably the one I use around 75% of the time at most gigs.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen a Charvel in person, but it’s on the list! Someday! Would a collection be complete without one?
You aren't going to believe how good the neck feels. Seriously the best around.

I have one coming out soon that is VERY similar...
It would look MUCH better with a maple fretboard!
Love it
So which plays better, this one or the Schecter Sun Valley?
Very much on my radar. 🎸
But I made a promise to myself that every guitar from here on out needs stainless steel frets.
#GorillaGrip 😬

Brad Gillis 😅
Thats RAD! Not red.
Yo
Why can my left hand play the strings on a guitar fret board but operate a mouse on a PC? Loses all motion skills period!
Raaaawk
