This couple seems very nice. And it’s wonderful to see a couple who’ve been together so long hold hands. The commentators saying otherwise need to try to get a life
I Love, love, love to watch these shows! AND what a treat to see Alistair Love your beard and MY GOODNESS, you are wearing a wedding ring!! Congratulations!!!. We all have been watching you forever, so I'm glad you found your someone special.! Keep up the good work and Alistair.............sniff, sniff I will always miss Jonnie. Love o Jules, Nicki and everyone!
I love how they think no 2 is remote . I could see cars whizzing by over their shoulder whilst they were with Alistair in the garden . Here in Australia remote can be a kilometre to your own letter box and an hour to your nearest neighbour !
The middle of nowhere is very different in Britain from the middle of nowhere in either Australia or Canada. My brother is in the Yukon Territory. They live in a town of 350 people. The nearest city is 6 hours away. There is a small settlement in between on either of the two routes. Cell phones don't work, so everyone carries a marine emergency beacon. Run into trouble and the Armed Forces sends a helicopter to rescue you. That is what I call remote, especially considering the population of the whole Territory is only 32,000.
Definitely the first property. Loved it and the price was great. New furniture would be on the agenda for me, not necessarily newly made but including many antiques. Would be quite happy there.
I'd buy house 1 if i had that sort of money to spend on a property - or house 3 that was good as well (apart from the odd shower in that 1 downstairs room lol). Mystery was cool - bit remote for them maybe?
To me they seem lovely people. And it’s not easy to make such a huge purchase. Also something on tv can look or feel different from up close. Just saying.
Any Who….. they had some brews and … and… well, who knows what happened. Sure in the 2 years since this was filmed, they found a place to live. (meanwhile, I still love Alistair… he is the best!)❤🎉
There's only 2 of them... how much cupboard space in a kitchen do they need...They like the word nice...These two aren't going to buy anything... just giving lip service..
"The road is a bit narrow?" Seriously ? This couple will not be pleased with anything shown to them. They really do not know what they want -- and are a big waste of time for anyone assisting them because nothing is good enough.
What is wrong with some couples...do they think their partners are going to run off with the photographers. All that hand holding. Walk up stairs holding hands, go through single doors holding hands. I had to turn off the episode.
Why are the ceilings so low in many of these homes on the show?! I would feel claustrophobic in a lot of these homes… 😬 were Brits historically short? 🤔
sad the presenter's personality is bland and forced, but the beautiful countryside and the lovely couple kept me watching. I did watch an older episode with a different presenter who was more interesting and natural.

Same here. One of my fave shows.
I think these 2 are just very hard to please. Loved house 1 & mystery house

Well Australia is considerably bigger than our little Island.
So sad what a beautiful house. I am sure Edd is the man to restore it to its original glory. Looking forward to watching the videos!

Lovely Alistair. Viewers too picky. I would love most of the houses
So glad to see Alistair back - he is the very best.....
I love listening to Alistair
Me, too! He's the best. So calm and respectful.
Only two of them! I think the wife is the stumbling block, as it is her mood that dictates, which doesn't include compromising.
It always is the wife who decides.
I love the kitchen in the 1st house
The lady reminds me of Queen Camilla! Lovely property.
Love the apple Orchard in Tiverton! What an admirable and sweet initiative ! and, loved the country style Kitchen of the Mystery house!
I'm glad they have each other to hold hands with .. What do know about their lives ❤
Alistair, Jasmin Amanda Lamb and the late Johnny Erwin, are /were the OG's of this programme genre.
summer 2022 - nice couple, good episode.
This couple epitomizes what I don't miss about England ..
Oh, my goodness- JUST what I was thinking.
Oh for heaven's sake, it's the barn conversion already!
That woman needs to build her own place, that’s if she can find lots of land at the end of a large village.
How large is their furniture if they can't fit in that mystery house??
she doesnt like anything.....
Alistair is hot!
Do they ever buy houses in this show?
The music at 28.28 is so nice. Wish I could hear that bit without voice over it.
The husband must have been extremely nervous - holding onto his wife with BOTH hands much of the time!
The First property was the Best.

Love 💗 Alistair , so animated
as if she is afraid he will run away…😂 2:35
Oh my golly gosh. The buyers are very frustrating!

😢 comments are spoilers… It would be great to watch without being prejudiced
Babes the fear i have for Chameleons eeeeeii

Why do they have hold each others hands all through the viewings?
My husband and I held hands all the time, more as time went by I think. 43 years together. It's love & loving being with each other.
No idea what these guys are looking for.
i love the red trim. i'd paint the house white though. annoying couple
As soon as It Looks like a fabrique Its Not a House, Thats for the Last and the second House.

Too much hand holding, nervous Nellie’s
I had the feeling that if they left go, all the lights in England would go out. 😄
"The road is a bit narrow?" Seriously ? This couple will not be pleased with anything shown to them. They really do not know what they want -- and are a big waste of time for anyone assisting them because nothing is good enough.
The ceiling on the first home seems to be to low.

It is precious to see this couple holding hands.
first house is nicer than 2nd....
What the hell is wrong with these people holding hands.
Why are the ceilings so low in many of these homes on the show?! I would feel claustrophobic in a lot of these homes… 😬 were Brits historically short? 🤔
Why do they call the bathroom a cloak room?
I know right! I always understood a cloakroom to be for cots and jackets. 🤷♀️
This person doesn't learn - NO SUBTITLES. WHY?
Please let go of her hand. It’s so awkward. And a bit disturbing.
sad the presenter's personality is bland and forced, but the beautiful countryside and the lovely couple kept me watching. I did watch an older episode with a different presenter who was more interesting and natural.
Fed up with ETTC LIke I Escaped to the Country its much better
house # 2 doesn't have any character.....
👎👎👎 because cannot be downloaded and watched offline. Also very bad audio quality.
That's because someone has pirated this from the original site and has to alter it to avoid copyright infringement
