Most people know it for heli fishing and white water rafting but the start of it is accessible by four wheel drives "Weather permitting". It's about an hour west of Ingham FNQ. One of the spots is called orange tree camping. It's fresh water but there is plenty of barramundi, jacks, sootys, tarpon etc. I've had a look on Google earth there seems to be a few long tracks. Locals take roof topper tinnies up.
