    Apologies the pause graphic is wrong in this video. My editor was upset that the WSOP schedule was still not released. Now that the schedule is out I am told this will not happen again 😅 Here is the question I would like your opinions on:
    What would YOU do with 7♥ 4♥ on the flop?
    Your Stack (SB): 180,000
    Their Stack (BB): 570,000
    Pot: 70,000
    Board: 8♦ 6♦ 4♣
    A) Check/Call
    B) Check/Raise to .. ?
    C) Bet .. ?

      FYI - The graphic for the question in the video was from a different lesson.

      Idk why i got in a situation where the pot is 70k blind vs blind i should be shoving or folding that hand pre flop most likely but if on that particular flop with that particular hand and STP ratio i am jamming f it.

      You have no idea how bad that graphic confused the shit out of me. You editor needs to take a breath and think of those in deep thought over a serious question, only to look up and see THAT, and how utterly confused I got upon viewing. haha...Thanks Johnathan and Team for all you do. My win rate has steady increased as I've "put in the work".
      Oh yeah. I wouid have Checked-Jammed in that situation.

      c) bet big. We can have a lot of strong/ nutted hands having raised in the sb and with a hand that has a lot of equity(pair / gutshot) we can start putting pressure on a lot of our opponent’sweak/ middling hands as well as get calue from flush draws (not holding a diamond).

    With 7h4h I'd check/call flop. I wouldn't want to bet flop bc getting raised would be terrible. We're giving strong draws more equity by allowing them to raise our cbet. Also, BB can call with most hands in their range here, so we really don't get any information by betting.
    With the AA I would bet small. They may still have an ace. They also have some straight draws in their range so we don't want them to see a free card. Betting small may also induce mid pocket-pairs to call.

  • @br4insful
    @br4insful 2 года назад +2

    because we raise preflop, on this board we can easily represent an overpair or A8d, that's why check-raise/ we pretend we checked to trap the BB

    I'm very confused, the graphic during the pause for the question is NOT the same as the flopped card graphics. Which am I supposed to use for my answer? I have AA and flop a set, or I have 74h and have a gutshot with a paired 4?

    I like a tiny cbet (1BB) with this marginal hand. You can call off a raise with at least 6 outs, maybe more-2 pair might be ok.
    Well I learned from Justin here. The tiny checkraise is better!
    I had a horrible live session just the other day -5 buy-ins, felt really really bad. But 2 of those were lost flips, AK vs QQ and vice versa, one was set-over-set where I had top set I checked back and opponent turned top set of KK he didn’t 3-bet preflop, and another was a very ill-considered massive river bluff where I didn’t have any nut-blockers. Ooops!

    We could get away with betting small for value/protection but that would make it harder for us to play the turn and river. I would check looking to check call and mix in some raises. Also depends on opponents betsize

  • @joeybets8981
    @joeybets8981 2 года назад +1

    Considering we have only 18bbs i would check call. If we were deeper i would also mix in betting small as we fold out hands with some equity like but also can have worse hands call to. And if we get raised while deeper we can still flat while on the flip side while short stack betting small and getting raised is a miserable spot that is avoidable by check calling.

    Bet somewhere between just under half pot and just over half pot. If he raises, i should fold. But I would call. He probably just has an overpair or flush draw. He mighttttt have top pair and be using his stack, so he might even have less. So I would shove. Hoping to either turn 2p, a set, or a straight, and dodge diamonds. Probably all terrible decisions.

    • @PokerCoaching
      @PokerCoaching  2 года назад +1

      I have no idea how the games are there, but I'd recommend whatever you decide, always make sure you have life expenses covered separately to your bankroll. I'd also recommend to get plenty of practice in wherever your local casino is now. If you have a clear win-rate over a large sample, it will really help you make good life/poker decisions in situations like this.

    Your options of what to do is all wonky. We don't have AA ansd the flop isn't A65 and those aren't our stacks. You might need to fix the video. IN the ACTUAL hand, The BB's range is as wide as mine was. The turn will make a big difference in this and I don't think any small to medium bet would win the pot right here. I would probably check, while I have decent equity a bet and BB reraise would be bad for me. I would be prepared to call any reasonable bet. Out of position like this I think I would prefer keep the pot small to get to showdown cheap.

    • @jppagetoo
      @jppagetoo 2 года назад

      I would never have check-reraised there. Interesting idea, I may try that sometime. It worked. The only thing I don't like is if you were called the pot is now bloated and my entire stack is at risk with bottom pair crappy kicker, out of position.
