- I think very few people are aware of a small Restoration group sometimes called the Hedrickites. Their official name is the Church of Christ, and they were the first Restoration group to return to Missouri and purchased part of the original temple lot where Joseph Smith had a revelation that 24 temples would be built there. Why don’t we know more about this group? Jean Addams is a former president of the John Whitmer Association, and will tell about his family connection to Granville and John Hedrick. Check out our conversation…..
A couple interesting notes; At one point Granville was a follower of Gladden Bishop, and many of Gladden's followers remained in Illinois after Bishop had departed to Iowa. The majority of David Whitmer's congregation would eventually join the Temple Lot group as well, so in that sense the Temple Lot is the sole-surviving continuation of these two groups.
The Church of Christ is a very interesting group with a rich history and unique view on doctrine. Glad you're making these videos!
This is awesome! I never knew about that group.
The Temple Lot phone number listed online is disconnected. They should also keep with the hours they listed on the sign as opened because they were closed when they were supposed to be opened. Not a good look.
They are a much smaller organization without official webmasters and very few people or money to help update things like that.
Good video
Just Got here so your part of the Church of Christ Temple lot?? its hard to friend anything from them on youtube :(
Both Jean and I are LDS, but Jean has spent a lot of time with The Temple Lot people, and has written a history of their church. Here is a playlist of all the videos: ruclips.net/p/PLLhI8GMw9sJ7nixw191ivhZYaVTGNEvYy

You're Welcome.
I was up there twice today. The Temple is supposed to be there, but it's not. If the Temple Lot's job is to make sure that the Temple isn't there, they are doing a really good job.
Have there been any books written about the history of the Church Of Christ (TL)?

I am a member of the temple lot. We do not consider ourselves Mormons.
Welcome! Do you know Randy Sheldon?
Yes, I know you don't call yourself Mormons. I should have said Restoration group. Sometimes it is hard to categorize people in a succinct way.
@@GospelTangents I do know Randy and have heard him preach on Several occasions. I knew his father very well. He taught me alot about the the Church and their beliefs.
This channel is very informative and I enjoy watching. God bless,
Your Brother in Christ.
I am a member of the Church of Christ (Campbell Lot)...and We considered you all Mormonites....
Does he or anyone else know where to look at printer manuscripts for the D&C?
My guess would be the Joseph Smith Papers Project website.
