Can I link cells horizontally, A1 to A2, B1 to B2 etc, so when I sort column B the relationship integrity will be maintained between adjacent cells? I'm on Excel for Mac 2011.

It is an array, to make it work you need to press ctrl-shift -enter and it will install the curly brackets
