This reaction was the best - so sincere and joyous! CALM is definitely an album that you can tell they've matured into their artistry. Very proud of these young men - not only extremely talented musicians and songwriters but also down to earth and humble plus they're hilarious Aussies!
The way ashton said it once, 1d is a vocal group and 5sos a band. .ost bands have a lead slinger and back-up vocalists. 5sos rraly stands out in that because they all are slingers individualy and together. But because they all play instruments and stuff luks takes the lead vocals most of the time. So it's equal. They used to switch of a lot more bit since luke had explored is voice and vocal range a lot they focused on that a lot in this album. Call me out if i said anything wrong please

SO happy you're listening to the CALM album, finally! I'm honeslty just here for the damn freaking harmonies and Calum absolutely killing it on the bass and his gorgeous backing vocals! Just kidding! This is LUKE's album, his vocals are breathtaking and that's saying a lot because I've been here from the beginning and his voice grew so damn much, I'm so proud of him! Wildflower is actually a one off because it's the only song on CALM sung by someone else other than Luke (big love to Calum, my man). Not to mention Ashton's line in Old Me (and backing vocals in Thin White Lies) and Calum singing with Luke on Lover of Mine (chills everytime that second chorus hits, a shame you didn't notice Calum's backing vocals, to me it makes the song even better that's why it's my favorite on this album and one my favorites of all time). FYI, It's not weird or anything because Luke has always been the lead singer! On older albums, they switch off A LOT! Like every verse (more or less) would be sung by someone else (either Mike or Cal). I guess you would say Calum is the first backing vocalist because you hear him the most on the verses. I think youngblood is the calm good type of album while sounds good feels good is amazing but a different good, more punk tock than calm and Youngblood, but yeah I think you’ll love Youngblood :)

luke sings the majority of the songs on calm but on their other albums like youngblood (which i think you’d love) the others sing a lot more and you’ll be able to tell
all their albums are amazing you can start with calm and go backwards so doing Youngblood the deluxe version, then Sounds good feels good, then self titled and once you do those you can even go into b sides and live albums
I mean luke has insane vocals but we kinda recommend the ones that have a music video so it feels like a band to you not a solo artist , like to us it feels like 5sos , we simp over all of them individually, like listening to the album , we’ll say wow luke’s vocals are dope and then be like omgg ash is killing it on the drum and then we be like omggg mike blessed us with this guitar solo , and the the bass calum just goes off tbh... personally, drums hit me the hardest the first time I listen to a song so yeah ...

This is a good album, not my favorite (Sounds good feels good, Self-titled) But this is pretty good honestly my least favorite album cuz I have a soft spot for pop punk and youngblood just seems so different, and calm is the same thing more harmonies if I'm being completely honest but I'm done roasting the album I do like this and no skips so please don't kill me. Also, the singles on this is album is better than the singles on youngblood in my opinion. Also please react to sounds good feels good its an AMAZING ALBUM.
