I'm studying chord tone soloing at the moment after years of just noodling.........I only started a few months ago and I can't believe how quickly my improv has improved..........for years I didn't know the notes on the fretboard.......now I do........I didn't know the notes that make chords........now I do and I know to make a chord minor you just flatten the third..........when I started learning chord tone soloing I was a bit upset at the thought of a few more years to learn this stuff. .........but honestly when you learn the notes on the fretboard and the notes that make chords you improve at a rapid rate..........this is a great tutorial.........thanks Charlie.........Paul from Ireland

Thanks for the lesson. I already use combinations of the first, fifth, seventh, and major/minor scale tones in my blues solos. But adding the second as a passing tone is magic. Nice!

Thanks for this video. One of the most beneficial videos I’ve come across in sometime. It was slot of fun to get these grouping under my belt. I added in the major 7th ( 1/2 step below the root) at times just to add my own spin.
I’m learning the triad shapes using the 2nd 3rd and 4th strings. I thinking I might be able to add these groupings in along the way.
    Great great video !!!

Way to break it down so i only need to concentrate on small amounts of intervals at a time instead of all of them. Great lesson. Nice job

@@CharlieLongGuitar in a good way I've been unknowingly using cells, but this is the first time that I've actually seen them put in a coherent way.
