That was amazing. Thank you. I appreciate all the amazing views from around the world but to see a part of the USA filmed so exquisitely is heart warming. And as a low time RC pilot I think the skill involved is humbling. Bravo!
Definitely. How exciting it is depends on how exciting you fly. For me, it's a total thrill.
By far the best FPV I've seen!... Super smooth... Brilliant editing. Very enjoyable.
Haha, wow. I had to give that a try out of sheer curiosity. You're right, the timing is nearly perfect. Changes the mood of the video for sure, more serene and contemplative. Made me smile.
I thought EPIC! was going to be an overstatement, but this is EPIC. :)
The most artistically beautiful vid Ive ever
seen and heard! Thank you. Fly safe.
Even more epic than the last video, great work!
Thanks.
Amazing views of one of the pettiest mountains around, and one more reason for a plane of my own!
That was the sickest ish I have seen yet! Dude this is the best vid I have seen yet! I cant wait to shake your hand! I am a true fan now!
How could somebody dislike this video!!!!!!!!!!! It's way too cool:)
Thank you kindly! Best of luck getting your FPV fleet online. Enjoy.
again out of this world well done again and for the next time 2
Maaaaaaaaaan!! You have my heart! Thanks!
Totally brilliant! Took me right to where you were flying! Loved every minute of it Bravo!!
Now that sounds like a damn fine plan to me. I will certainly look into that as it is stunning over there!!
Great video makes me feel like a hawk soaring on the thermals! :)
Fantastic video Todd. Amazing since it's pretty much in our backyards. Great job on the music too.
Utah is epic already!
wow! those are amazing pics! good job man, good job!!!
No soy el que hizo este video pero vuelo FPV y hablo espanol y me alegro que vas a poder usar FPV para regresar a las vistas come estas. Que lo disfrutes.
Great Info! Love seeing everyone elses FPV setups!
Great work Todd! looking forward for more.
You make me feel like I'm there! great job!!
Spectacular view..keep posting!!
Amazing, incredibly enjoyable to watch!
Beautiful video!! Loved it!!
Nice Todd. Nice Eagle flyby too!!!!
@waltergiordani Thanks Walter! I love your gliding videos too! Your mountains in Italy are absolutely fantastic!
Or should I say "FANTASTICO!"
@AerialPhotoWorx Thanks! I'm super glad you like it! I'm especially relieved people like the music, since it was my first original score. More good stuff to come, so stay tuned!
So smooth
Beautiful!
AMAZING,great video
Very nice and and great musical composition....
I really like your videos guy. Many thanks!
Thanks. Glad you enjoy them. I generally try to get as close as humanly possible to my target, within a mile is best. You can't get TOO close to a mountain or the foothills will obscure line of sight, which is critical to flight safety. But I don't want to be too far away either. The reason is that the vehicles have limited battery life. If I fly from far away, I waste battery life getting to and from the target location. I prefer to use the battery to explore the area once there.
Yeht at looks simply stunning to!!!
Awesome! Just got GOPRO for Christmas for high Sierra fishing trips. Found a link to this on a GOPRO forum. Awesome work Todd!
i'll say just amazing beautiful
Very awesome video! Thanks for posting.
Awesome Job! Excellent soundtrack too. I'm just starting getting into FPV. I've always wanted too fly but can't get my pilots license due too health reasons. Your videos are amazing!
Thanks for taking the risk with plane, I know what hiking is like up there. Impossible in many places solo, well if you for sure want to come back LOL!
amazing - great job on everything
Great!
WOW, just wow
Again you have made a Awesome flight video and im thinking not FPV but FEV...First Eagle View :)
Amazing!!!
Amazing footage...
Still kicking ass I see! As always, great videos and exceptional flying, and also as always, I am eternally jealous of your "fields", lol. NICE. :-)
Beautiful video.
Excellent!
Awesome.
All dislikes where made by people that miss the like bar because that's an amazing video
Been away for the holidays, just getting back to you on this.
My early videos, including this one, had no stabilization. The shots were just raw video. But I spent about a month digging in to software stabilization, trying all the various programs on the market, and eventually got to where I was comfortable stabilizing shots in software. I did it on about 1/3 rd the shots of the Kayenta video, and then 95% of the shots in the Beautimous Buttes video. It's very time consuming to do.
Very interesting & beautiful video!
Wow Todd, I was looking forward to your new video and Im just as impressed as the rest of them. Im looking into relocating to Hill AFB in the near future and would love to team up with you. Truley amazing talent with the FPV,editing and music. Keep up the great work brother!!!
beautiful Video Good
wonderful video. Compliments.
great video, the track you made sounds like a instrumental of November Rain.
Very nice!

@lwaj1970 Thanks! Glad you liked it! There'll be more good stuff to come, so subscribe to this channel!
My planes are equipped with on-screen displays, or OSD's, which provide me the same type of navigational data that full-scale pilots use. I have real-time compass orientation, gps coordinates, air speed, altitude, and a visual "home" marker that shows me where I am on the ground, in addition to power consumption information. It also has an auto-pilot that is programmed to return the plane to it's starting location if I choose to activate it, or if there is a communications problem with ground.
When you get sick of your old set up I would like to buy it! if I could do 1/2 or 1/3 of what you do I would be happy! the junk I use would not get my over the first hill. you do a great job!
Beautiful scenery and nice smooth flying. The only thing I would like to suggest to enhance the viewers pleasure is to not switch scenes so often. As soon as I get into enjoying one scene it changes to another. Just my opinion. Keep up the good work.
I NEED EPIC SCENERY LIKE THAT!! Damn UK is far to small..... get me someplace EPIC!!
Awesome video-One of the best I've seen so far.
Is it harder to fly FPV than flying without it?
@IjusWanaFly83 Thanks! Give me a shout when you arrive in the area. Tandem flying is a blast!
You sir, are DIALED IN!!! A little jello here and there - you know about moon gel, right? Awesome videos... Wish I could....
Thanks. This was before I learned how to balance motors & props, which are the source of vibration. Moon Gel only helps take out minor vibrations, but won't solve jello from imbalanced motors & props. I didn't learn how to do that until I tried getting stable video out of a multi-rotor, which is like pulling teeth. I'm building a new FPV wing to get back into this mountain surfing stuff, I miss it.
TJ Sheridan I figured as much... I've created a business doing aerial imaging with quads and hexas and really miss just burning around for fun as well. Was looking at the Assassin but now am looking at something a bit bigger with longer flight duration. Reaper looks like a good machine for sure.
Thanks! Honestly, I've had a ZII for maybe 6 months now, and haven't got it flying yet. Life's been a bit nuts. I'm about 80% of the way with a build, just need to put the elevons and camera on. I'll be flying with it within a few weeks, and am hopeful. It's not EPP, so it won't take a beating like the Crash Test Hobbies planes that I normally fly, but it's much stiffer and won't flex as much, which should get better video at high speeds, which I really look forward to seeing.

Beautiful! I applaud you! I can't think of a more rewarding experience! Amazing how smooth the flight is. Would have thought mountain wave turbulence would beat you around pretty bad. Is the flying wing design better in turbulence?
@shockhelmet DragonLink UHF is what I use on an Aurora 9. Very solid system. DragonLink works with any major TX with PPM stream output.
Welcome to Utah! #1 thing to know in Utah when flying FPV (and anywhere really), National Parks have strict rules against it. These are some of the most beautiful places and therefore would be ideal for filming with FPV, but the parks have rules against it with stiff penalties. Fortunately, we live in a state with so much beauty outside of the major parks, that it's hardly necessary to fly there. PM me with your contact info.
Amazing! One of the best videos I've ever seen.
Was this done with the deep reaper?
For a relaxing scenic viewing, pause this video at 0:16. Search "Fantasy on a Japanese Folk Song" and pick the first link that pops (should be by concertbandland) and play that song starting from 0:16. You get some beautiful musically synced shots.
@Exyator Thanks! Yes, Deep Reaper, also called the Reaper XL now.
nice flights
Very awesome...great flying...Maybe edit some slowmotion, would make it even more serene...
@toddsher2112 Thank you! Yes I do most of that except not much image stabilization. I was hoping you found some magic mount or foam rubber to keep the wavyness out of the image...but calm days and a balanced prop can take care of a lot of that I know.
Thanks for the reply. I've found that your videos are simply the best I've seen. Do you apply any post video stabilisation, or is the smooth video due to your approach to flying? Or perhaps both? I ask because I've been researching which plane to buy for stable videography. I've settled on the Radian Pro because of its large wingspan, and availability in Australia. Do you have any advice here?
I ask because yours are the best examples of stable flight I've seen - awesome work.
Great stuff ! I was a bit worried when you were flying over those sheer walls, That was a great bit of flying !.
By summers end I hope to get my fpv flyer going Not quite sure if I am going with a quad copter or a fixed wing. I would like both but the boss might not like that :)
I live close to Vernal. Perhaps we will meet one day.
Best to you,and Happy Landings.
Earl
SIGH!!! I miss flying :(
very nice
Ok - thanks very much for the advice. I ended up buying a Radian, the prop is annoying but I'm building a GoPro mount to hold it well below the body to take out any shot of the plane. The next one I'll buy will be a pusher.
What software did you settle on? I'm going to be using After Effect's image stabilization effects, any advice would be appreciated. Will let you know how I get on - looking forward to 2013!! :D
Beautiful video!
Tell me, if a plane accidentally flies over a hill and out of sight,2.4 Ghz Radio waves don't bend around mountains As you do?How to safely return the plane?
+Григорий Иванов - You can't fly behind hills, and you shouldn't try flying like this with a 2.4ghz radio. I fly with a long range transmitter system called DragonLink, which is 433mhz UHF and requires a HAM license in the US to operate. While a typical 2.4ghz transmitter radio will get you maybe 1km of control, you can do 20-30 km with UHF. UHF also gets you better penetration when flying around hills and mountains. You still can't fly behind the mountain entirely, but you can fly around cliffs and go behind a few trees or cliffs or buildings temporarily without losing control. Also, if you have your planet set up with a return to home system (RTH), you can often get your plane back if you do accidentally fly too far away, but if you fly BEHIND a mountain, when the RTH system kicks in and flies your plane back, it may fly it into the BACK of the mountain that you flew behind. You can also set up automated flight routes with a lot of controllers, so the plane can fly itself behind a mountain and follow a pre-programmed path to return safely using GPS coordinates. I don't ever use that though, I like to fly the plane myself and just fly safely.
Excellent! just got my Deep Reaper in last week. Cant wait to build it! Are you on FPV Lab?
This looks like Utah county Utah.. Provo Area... Nice video!!
Incredible video - and thanks for listing your setup. What is the range of your FPV setup? How far away from you can you fly it?
haha probably! I've attached some landing gear to protect the cam but it's definitely not safe :P I've seen some guys turn the Radian in to a pusher.
I'm liking these wings the more I see them though!!
Ok awesome, I'll also check out DeShaker - thanks. Looking forward to your new videos mate - keep up the great work and all the best for 2013!
video looks better if you fly smoothly. The key is using exponential curves in your transmitter. By flattening the curve around center stick and using low rates, you can get smooth flight with most planes. There is an art to flying beautifully, obviously, and that skill can be developed with practice.
I've never used a Radian Pro personally, though I know many some who have. The ideal FPV planes are pushers though. Having a prop in front of the camera won't produce the kind of shots I get.
Do you ever encounter high winds when flying over peaks?
Hi Todd, your videos are really fantastic and you able to capture the best parts of your shoots and produce these very well. I have started an UAV company and inadditional to Quads, will need a wing. I have an X8 that is " ok " but whats your thoughts on the Z11 ? Thanks
what remote control plane and camera do you use???
@Soldier53flyer I haven't made any vids of my setup. My setup changes from month to month, and is going through another evolution right now as I try to improve video stability and high speed flight performance.
Which plane did you used?
Congrats the video is so amazing.
Amazing, how much do the FPV's run, like your setup?
I havent'words...
@seansmp420 :) Well I'm thrilled that you enjoy it! It's a labor of love for sure, it means a lot to know that it resonates with people. We'll be down your way last weekend of February, so we should definitely hook up.
amazing!!!!!! what motor combo you running?
Great Video, I would love to see your set up, do you have a video on that?
Great stuff Todd! Just moved to Sandy,Utah this month from Wash. state. So many killer places to fly FPV with my multirotors and planes ... don't know where to fly first. Got your name from a cool guy I met in the LHS (Chris). Looks like I'll be up late watching all your vids. It would be cool to hook up and do some flying ... let me know! Thanks!
