I love the American cut Legere reeds - as a relative beginner they make it so much easier to get a consistent mellow sound, even on a basic Yamaha 4C mouthpiece
I liked your sound best on the Vandoren. I was a little surprised because I'm a big advocate of synthetic reeds and choose to play on one (legere signature 3.0 on a selmer concept) over cane reeds in my day to day playing.
It’s been awhile lol, but do you play tenor? I’m a classical tenor player but there’s like 3 total on the internet and I can’t find a classical saxophonist trying tenor synth reeds. Have you played any other brand of synth? I just need some help finding one. Much appreciated!
Interestingly enough, I was able to pick out the VENN reed pretty directly, even though I play -- and am more used to hearing -- jazz. I like its sound; there is something more organic about it than the Legere reeds. However, I personally found the example I tried to be far too resistant, so it's been relegated to my desk drawer. For now, I'm sticking to my cane reeds.

Very nice, thank you.

The second reed sounded the best for me. And I thought it was the Vandoren.
Hmmm. I didn’t expect the last one to be the Venn.
I liked No.2 more .
