I eat at in and out once a month because it’s such a treat. The food never disappoints and they staff for their service volume. I stopped in today with a near full parking lot and a line in the drive in at 12:30pm. I got my double double order in 6 minutes. Not a lot of places turn and burn like that.

You two are so hilarious. You're both slender and you're eating heart attack food, and you're finishing it without gaining a pound. It's unbelievable. Love watching you two eat. Most Europeans hate Rootbeer but if you grew up with it you love it. Mug Root Beer was my favorite.
Oh, you’re at the famous In-N-Out in Los Angeles! I’m glad you liked it and appreciate that are food size is so large that one meal could feed a village in England
Me.. A 27 years old African girl, seating in my bed watching 2 English men eating In-N-Out.. And I'm smiling like crazy.. What am I doing with my life!!
A lemon-up is also “secret”! During Covid when they served you the drinks it’s pink lemonade and seven up(I would always do this not knowing it was a secret menu item) Also I like to get my BURGER animal style which is basically grilled onion on the burger versus raw onion and it’s so much better in my opinion
You can also ask for the entire onion slice to be grilled instead of chopped up animal style (whole grilled onion). As for drinks, technically on the secret menu but it can be done anywhere, the Arnold Palmer (half lemonade, half iced tea)
this makes me crave in n out after i just had dinner. in n out is not technically healthy, but it's healthier than most fast foods in america. the price hasn't changed much over the years and the quality has remained the same, i think that's why it attracts people so much. the protein burgers also makes me feel better about myself haha, a guilty pleasure
I loooove In-n-Out. I live in NYC where we only have shake shack which is ridiculously expensive and overhyped but in-n-out is no frills, fresh, cheap and delicious.
My friend who is a personal trainer gets the protein burger when she eats at In n Out. As an American I love Rootbeer. My dad used to make it homemade when I was a kid. So good.
I really appreciate you mention that it is fast food. People are always so disappointed with in-n-out when they have it for the first time because everyone has built it up so high, but they’re expecting like gourmet burgers and it’s still fast food. It’s a GREAT, fresh, fast food burger. Sincerely, a born and raised Southern Californian who takes in-n-out availability for granted.
Exactly. I got a chicken sandwich at Wendy’s a few months back and it was over 7$. Last time I got one they were like 5$. A in n out burger cost 2.50$ and beats the shit out of a McDonald’s burger that’s 5-8$
Yeah I’ve never liked in n out. It’s so expensive, and it’s fast food. But there is no flavor. It’s so popular and hyped, but it’s only fast food. If I’m getting fast food, I’d rather pay less somewhere else for mediocre food.
I've never been to America or an In-n-Out, but the atmosphere and vibe is what I imagine 80s in America felt like (from like tv and movies etc.) It just feels like 80s. I don't know if this makes sense.
It's definitely different than McDonalds. They make cheeseburgers without any meat for vegetarians. The toasted bun is so tasty that the whole concoction is delicious.
That’s funny because the vibe I got when I walked into my first In-N-Out was the 1950s. Maybe it was just that location (New Braunfels, TX), or maybe it was just so brand new they had an insane amount of extremely eager workers for a fast food restaurant that just struck me as being from a more innocent time. The 80s weren’t that in any way, shape or form.
i like in n out cause its privately owned and they treat their employees well. its fresh, delicious and affordable that no other fast food restaurants can compare. not the best burger, but certainly a better option than eating at your typical burger king, mcdonalds and carls jr
Being native Californians IN-N-OUT is the only 'fast food' burger place we go to. Having friends who work there I know the ingredients are fresh, made fresh, and the place is so dang clean!
Too much of California is people claiming things should be done right, but by other people while they look for personal or political loops so they can look like they support what’s right, but they do things wrong, but this restaurant is still family owned by people that feel they need to be the ones doing things right according to conviction and sincerely doing their best without expecting anyone to force them to do their best. They don’t play the excuses or comparison game, they simply, sincerely seek to do their best. I wouldn’t be surprised if evil people slander them for it but it sounds like people aren’t fooled and see that they truly are better than the phony competition that only works to look good, but isn’t.
On the bottom of every in and out cup and tray is a Bible verse. The owners are Christian, and wanted to share that love with their customers, but also didn't want to intrude upon people who don't believe. They also pay well, treat their employees decently, and have not expanded particularly quickly. In order to maintain quality. Every restaurant is family-owned. I have never had a bad meal at an in-n-out.
@@SRose-vp6ew yup, as a Californian I 100% agree. We’ve always had such respect for IN-N-OUT from their transparency, windows for walls so you can see where and how they are making the food in the drive-thru and keeping true to their morals and standards as a business has been so awesome to see. We need more of that.
I knew I shouldn’t watch this but I couldn’t ignore it and now I’m absolutely starving, sitting here in bed at midnight in Australia with no In-N-Out 😭

I'm sorry but rootbeer floats are one of my favorite desserts. So I feel I need to tell you this. A general rule for a good rootbeer float is to eat the ice cream out of the float first. Then drink the rest. And preferably you want the rootbeer cold so that rootbeer ice forms around the vanilla ice cream. Then once the solid ice cream is gon you get the perfect mixture of cream to rootbeer making a perfect drink. So please try it again. But don't wait so long the ice cream melts. As you eat the ice cream it mixes in the melted stuff.
I have just recently found you guys on RUclips. I am happy watching you guys eat American fast foods and your critiques are truly hilarious 😂😂... You Brits have gained a new subscriber...
If In-N-Out made a 4x4-like turkey burger, call it the "double double gobble gobble". This is what came to my mind when Ollie said double double double double.
Glad you got to try the California classic! Some things to remember next time you visit an In N Out: - All burgers come with the sauce unless you ask for it without it. You can get the sauce separately in packets. - All-star fries are just animal-style fries lol - Getting well-done fries means they're the freshest out of the fries since they have to cook a new batch instead of scooping from the already cooked ones! - Majority of In N Outs are in CA! There are only about 2-3 outside of the state. - You can get an In N Out food truck to cater for your events! - 4 x 4 is the largest version of the burger you can get. They banned people from getting anything larger a few years ago. - There are Bible verses under every In N Out cup! - You can get "bun donuts" - Nearly every location has a set of crossing palm trees, just like the logo - You can get your burger cooked in any heat (medium-rare to well-done)
@@joyr2273 A lot of people don't realize or know that In N Out is technically a religious based business. They're just not all in your face about it like other fast food joints or other businesses 👀
As chefs like to say, signs of good food at a restaurant are small menus. A restaurant will focus on what the customers want and ensure that at the very least it is done well. Rather than trying to cater to everyone and being okay with everything.
the beauty of in-n-out is that its cheap/fast food but has all fresh ingredients, no one should be expecting michelin star restaurant food from a fast food burger joint

@@DeltaAssaultGaming try them well done! Most of my friends from out of state disliked in n out fries until trying them well done, just an option if you find yourself there
Ollie: I'm liking the distinct lack of judgement. Cashier (and every American watching): it's only 4 burgers and 2 fries. I usually eat a burger and fries on the way home with the food I bought for dinner. Seriously, other countries may have great chefs, but Americans have great eaters. A skill often overlooked.
I'm glad you tried and liked the fries dipped in the shake. I dip my Wendy's fries in my chocolate frosty and so many times people looks at me like "wtf is wrong with you bro?" Also, Josh's laugh sounds like the laughs of the 2 main nerds in Revenge of the Nerds.
The "Double Double" and 4x4 reference how many burger patties and cheese slices you want. Rumor has it, you used to be able to get up to a 20x20, which is as many burgers as would fit on the grill. However, I think 4x4 is now the limit.
@@fatalfury66 I feel like I vaguely remember seeing photos of some 100x100 burgers go around in the early days of social media. It was probably fine and funny the first few times, until everyone started hopping on the trend and it became much more of a nuisance.
As someone who grew up having rootbeer floats it's so fun watching you guys try one. Don't worry Josh - I think most people just want to slurp up the root beer soaked ice cream. 😄
Cream cheese is good in a cheesecake but I wouldn't like it on a pizza. Everything has a place, and it's asinine to insult it when it's out of its element.
I mean, I live in California, and love In-N-Out, but can't stand American cheese. I agree that it's good on an In-N-Out burger though. Anyway, I learned something today, didn't realize that American cheese was made for burgers. I'll be a little easier on American cheese from now on.
To be fair, 'American Cheese' slices are not real cheese, in fact most things marketed as 'American Cheese' are not fully cheese. It's literally made from melting different real cheeses together and adding about the same amount again of other things. Some 'Processed American Slices' do not contain any cheese at all and are an oil based product. Oh and interesting note, the technique for creating these 'processed cheese' varieties was first invented in Switzerland, so really 'American Cheese' is a Swiss invention lol.
@@Ishlacorrin That's true for individually wrapped slices (like Kraft Singles) but you can buy fresh sliced American Cheese that is just cheese. And while people tend to think the only good American made cheeses come from Wisconsin or Oregon, I would pit some of the local speciality cheese makers in Vermont against some of the best cheeses in the world.
I was going to say basically the same thing. American cheese is not a stand-alone item. It needs to be on a burger or in a grilled cheese sandwich. Not, like, on crackers or anything.
I grew up with it, and there are a lot of great varieties at that. Still, I get that it's an acquired taste for some. I understand that some of the flavors that make up root beer are used in medicine in Europe and Asia. It would probably be like getting a soda that tastes like cough syrup.
@@ACriticalGeek Not so much grape, but I've had cherry sodas come much closer - in particular, Stewart's cherry soda made me think of cough syrup I've had in the past.
i love how they say that in-n-out's fries are crispy. the really small pieces are, but the majority of them aren't, or maybe it just depends on location
You can order them well done but low key late at night the location on Sunset off Hollywood Blvd and N Orange Dr makes them extra crispy, just got to get to them before they get cold. I have gotten in the car from bed late at night and gone from Santa Monica to Hollywood for them with a strawberry milkshake and burger.

I've been the the U.S. a lot in my life since I live in Canada and the size of the portion there never ceases to amaze me. I mean Canada also has big portions, often too big in my opinion but nothing like the U.S. I once made the mistake of asking for a large soft drink in Las Vegas and I was literally handed a bucket! 😂🤣
True, the size of a double double can be my 2 meals...
Yep. My husband and I usually order one meal and one sandwich. So we each have a burger and split the fries and drink. And still can't eat everything.
I know some people think IN-N-OUT is overrated, but I personally I have enjoyed it. I never noticed the T-shirt’s before. I’m going to buy one the next time I go there. Y’all never fail to make me laugh. Stay safe guys!
i feel like if you grew up eating it then you love it. ppl in the south love waffle house, ppl iin cali love in and out
What I've learned is that it's really bad outside California lol
Overrated doesn't mean it isn't good. It's pretty good but a lot of people act like it's the best food on the planet.
It's very good for its price. Never understood it when people compare places like Five Guys or Shake Shack to it.
It's definitely overrated. I enjoy it too, quite a bit actually. It's just some people swear it's like the best thing ever and take some weird pride in it. If I had out of state visitors come over, taking them to In N out would be like one of the last places I would take them unless they were poor. It's hard to beat that value though lol.
I have just discovered your videos and this past week I’ve gone down a big rabbit hole!! The two of you are hysterical together! I am always laughing out loud!!!
Everyone from England that I've seen try root beer initially are like ugh -- yet they go back for more! Then they are hooked! So funny!
Root beer is legitimately good, and sort of a hidden secret of soft drinks. What a flavor it has.
It's kinda like cream soda in a way
I don’t think that’s a good thing you saw what happened to the Chinese when they had a drink like that
They arebexpecting ginger beer, which I like, then the sasaffras hits them, followed by the overwhelming sweetness.
Both root beer and ginger beer are incredible once you acquire The taste for it
My my my.. Ollie, that's hilarious 2:50 and the look of Josh's face at the end 🤣🤣
There is something very calming about you two in this video. You aren’t hurried and seem relaxed. The friendship and respect for each other really shines.
Ollie’s Nord VPN shanty never fails to impress me😂
Even when he’s not there, he still has the best NordVPN ads out😅
NORD... VPNNNNNN
His ads are the reason I got Nord.
When I visited LA in 2015, I went to In-N-Out 3-4 times and was very satisfied. I want to go again.
I laughed out loud at Ollie’s exclamation of American saam!😂😂 glad you guys got some t-shirts for souvenirs.
I’m so glad that I’m not the only person who dips McDonald’s chips into my McFlurry the salt on the chips with the sweetness of the ice cream is absolutely DIVINE
Everyone who goes to Wendy's does this. You can't always try it with McDonald's since their ice cream machine is perpetually "broken"

Also Ollie: allergic to potatoes.
How many of us yelled at the screen to remind him he'll make himself ill?
Josh, don't you know normal sponsorship messages aren't allowed when NordVPN is involved?
Next time you're in Los Angeles you have to try Porto's bakery Cafe, the chicken croquettes are amazing!!
I eat at in and out once a month because it’s such a treat. The food never disappoints and they staff for their service volume. I stopped in today with a near full parking lot and a line in the drive in at 12:30pm. I got my double double order in 6 minutes. Not a lot of places turn and burn like that.
"It's something you buy so that you can show off to your friends, that you're doing it, not because it's subjectively enjoyable. It's like Coachella" OMFG🤣🤣🤣
Every time Ollie starts eating fries, I'm like "stop! You are going to be so sick!"
I agree with Ollie, "well-done" fries at In-n-Out are too crispy. For me, they're best when ordered as "light-well".
ooo, I didn't know you could do that. I don't like the reg fry there, and the well done are just a bit too much. but if they allow light-well, right inbetween, that sounds great!
What am I doing with my life!!
life is funny. Korean American man here thinking about where I might find fufu on my business trip next month... weird, right?
Turning 27 this year and I can relate! 😅 I actually want fries now lol
Apart from the age, same here in Germany 😂

A lemon-up is also “secret”! During Covid when they served you the drinks it’s pink lemonade and seven up(I would always do this not knowing it was a secret menu item) Also I like to get my BURGER animal style which is basically grilled onion on the burger versus raw onion and it’s so much better in my opinion
And the animal style sauce ofc
animal style with raw onions and chillis is the way 2 go
Yes, Caramelized onions! Are the best
You can also ask for the entire onion slice to be grilled instead of chopped up animal style (whole grilled onion). As for drinks, technically on the secret menu but it can be done anywhere, the Arnold Palmer (half lemonade, half iced tea)
I have been in the US all my life, and you taught me new secret items that I never heard AND never seen before! Thanks for the video!
this makes me crave in n out after i just had dinner. in n out is not technically healthy, but it's healthier than most fast foods in america. the price hasn't changed much over the years and the quality has remained the same, i think that's why it attracts people so much. the protein burgers also makes me feel better about myself haha, a guilty pleasure
What quality?
Price for a double double went from 3.50 to 5.00 USD here, in a bit more than a year.
I loooove In-n-Out. I live in NYC where we only have shake shack which is ridiculously expensive and overhyped but in-n-out is no frills, fresh, cheap and delicious.
We got a Shake Shake this year and yeah…wow. Not a cheap meal. It’s good, but I’ll take my I&O 99% of the time over SS.
@@ashleybest4655 FLAVORLESS?!?!

I've never been to America or an In-n-Out, but the atmosphere and vibe is what I imagine 80s in America felt like (from like tv and movies etc.)
It just feels like 80s. I don't know if this makes sense.
It's definitely different than McDonalds. They make cheeseburgers without any meat for vegetarians. The toasted bun is so tasty that the whole concoction is delicious.
Even in the 70's, In n Out had this vibe but mostly drive thru's...I don't recall indoor seating.
I think it's supposed to be more 1950's, but the 80's mimicked a lot of that eara. But definitely "sock hop", 1950's is the vibe at In N Out
Lol... you should have done the "lemon-up" where you add a splash of 7-up to the lemonade
i like in n out cause its privately owned and they treat their employees well. its fresh, delicious and affordable that no other fast food restaurants can compare. not the best burger, but certainly a better option than eating at your typical burger king, mcdonalds and carls jr
I don’t eat burgers too often but when I do In N Out is the only place I go to. Another great lesser-known option is Baker’s.
French fries are best if they're not made fresh. They fry up crispier if they're refrigerated, or partly fried, chilled and fried again. Up to 3 times
I knew I shouldn’t watch this but I couldn’t ignore it and now I’m absolutely starving, sitting here in bed at midnight in Australia with no In-N-Out 😭
That's rough, buddy.
That does suck. I have one five minutes from my house and my kids want to go there waaaaaaay too often. If there is such a thing.

Also “pale ass white dudes, ass probably the palest, no sun exposure” lol
Josh: Well spoken, able to eat gourmet Korean food and explain exactly what it is, how it's made, where it's from, hell, probably even knows the chef's name.
Also Josh: Loses all hope of speaking properly, losing his mind at American fast food.
The duality of man in motion.
Love the video. . :D
@@mohenn22smith27 thank yoy my good sir! Happy to see another invested rootbeer dude out there!!!

I've noticed that people from England/Ireland/Scotland think root beer taste "medicinal". And not many like peanut butter.
I believe there is some kind of cold/cough medicine with a very similar flavor profile to root beer in the UK.
Born and raised in California. I have always thought that root beer smells and tastes medicinal
If In-N-Out made a 4x4-like turkey burger, call it the "double double gobble gobble". This is what came to my mind when Ollie said double double double double.
As a L.A. native living in Colorado!!! Love this video! Love In n Out!
Glad you got to try the California classic!
Some things to remember next time you visit an In N Out:
- All burgers come with the sauce unless you ask for it without it. You can get the sauce separately in packets.
- All-star fries are just animal-style fries lol
- Getting well-done fries means they're the freshest out of the fries since they have to cook a new batch instead of scooping from the already cooked ones!
- You can get "bun donuts"
- Nearly every location has a set of crossing palm trees, just like the logo
- You can get your burger cooked in any heat (medium-rare to well-done)
Im in North Texas and we have had 2 different In Out locations for years. Didnt know that about biblical scripture very cool will look next time.
What are bun donuts?
There's almost 100 locations outside CA now. They've been spreading quite quickly.
They also have Puppy Patties for dogs
@@joyr2273 A lot of people don't realize or know that In N Out is technically a religious based business. They're just not all in your face about it like other fast food joints or other businesses 👀
Y'all need to try a cheerwine float they are amazing!!!
You missed the Flying Dutchman, and the grilled cheese, also technically the fries well done.
Was going to say. Missed the Flying Dutchman. I do that one every chance I get
As chefs like to say, signs of good food at a restaurant are small menus.

The "Double Double" and 4x4 reference how many burger patties and cheese slices you want. Rumor has it, you used to be able to get up to a 20x20, which is as many burgers as would fit on the grill. However, I think 4x4 is now the limit.

I love how British folk always talk about how crap American cheese is, and then always enjoy it on a burger. Which is what it's made for.
YES! I hope you were able to get some authentic Mexican food as well.
Rootbeer is like the sushi of sodas. Most people don't like it the first time, but out of the blue, a month later you'll get a craving.
I grew up with it, and there are a lot of great varieties at that. Still, I get that it's an acquired taste for some. I understand that some of the flavors that make up root beer are used in medicine in Europe and Asia. It would probably be like getting a soda that tastes like cough syrup.
