There is something magical when things are encased somehow, no? It makes the mind take notice and focus on whatever miniature world's inside. You could have a removable copper box made to size by a tinker. Terrariums, cloches, small obelisks & trellises have the same enclosed effect. It makes you look at what's inside as special! Thanks Danielle!
Hi Danielle, it's clear see how special your grandmother was to you. The Wardian case came together beautifully. What a wonderful family heirloom and special remembrance of your grandmother.
How wonderful to bring it back to life. I am sure your grandma is smiling down knowing how much she inspired you and that you took the time and care to restore her wardian case.
What a wonderful treasure! I think your Grandma would be so happy you are getting joy from it. Love the second spray paint you used, just perfect in every way! The plants are perfect for it too and the other elements are the great finishing touch! Well done ❤️
I never had heard the term Wardian Case before! Once again, I learn from you, which is part of why I enjoy your channel so much. So glad you have this precious reminder of your Grandmother. Thanks for bringing us along!
I just purchased my first Wardian case and was perusing RUclips for styling inspo and I'm so happy that I stumbled upon your channel! This is a gorgeous piece, excellent job restoring it!
As an ongoing joke in our family, my grandparents always say "write your name on it if you want it after we're gone!" so I find it funny about the post-it notes in your experience.
It’s beautiful! You are so talented and your patience and beauty shine through making the whole case project a sentimental work of love and art. How wonderful that you can have something like this of your grandmother near you especially during the Christmas season.
Oh, Danielle, that is stunning. Your paint job is just the right touch. And the fact that it was your grandmother’s just takes it up another level. You honor her memory so lovingly. I have no doubt you know how fortunate you are to have had such a close relationship with her and to have her wonderful influence still with you today. (My eyes are welling up-sadly, I was not close to either of my grandmothers).
Happy Birthday Grace! Love the restoration on your Grandma's case. The plants look perfect in there! Oh no, you didn't show us the amaryllis in bloom. My amaryllis aren't anywhere near ready to bloom, but I check them every day. Maybe a few times a day, LOL.
It is so cool. I love the paint you chose. I absolutely love Wardian cases. If it were me, I would get plexiglass for it rather than glass. Ace Hardware will do custom cuts of acrylic / plexiglass.
Nothing like special items that bring back such memories just looking at it. "protected from Gracie when she has the zoomies' made me laugh out loud! can relate for sure! merry Christmas!
I’m so glad you got that beautiful Wardian case done, it looks spectacular! You have inspired me to get my antique one setup finally as I just didn’t know how to go about it. Thanks for sharing another great project!
Such a beautiful restoration & perfect plant choices! I think we all have projects that seem to linger on the to-do list for ages, but once we do finally tackle them, it's such a satisfying moment (and we always think "why did it take me do long?")!
Thanks for sharing your projects and knowledge with us. I love having a peek at your life and home. The wardian case came out lovely. Happy Birthday Grace and Happy Holidays to you & your family Danielle. 🎄💕🍃
Wow, now this is interesting. An object of history and also sentiment. You have really transformed your Grandmother's edwardian case. The plants you chose look great. The only suggestion I have, is to find a safe place where it gets more light and more attention, as a thing of eccentric beauty. I don't think many people have anything like it! You've done a fabulous job. Merry Christmas, Jo ❤
I found one just like this at a local thrift shop for $30, I thought it was a good buy. It is just a little bit smaller but is sturdily built. I put different little scenes in it during the year. Your plants look beautiful in it.
Hi Danielle! Love your videos-learning so much from you. Never heard the terms Wardian case or kokedama paperwhites until you shared them. The Wardian case restoration is lovely…love the color and the plants you used along with the moss and bark. Adding some light to it would be great too. How long will plants survive in it? You are fortunate to have the memories of your grandmother and her love of plants. Thank you for sharing with us! Don’t forget to show your blooming amaryllis in a future segment.
❤❤❤I love this. It's so special to have a Wardian Case especially the one your Grandmother took to flower shows. It looks so beautiful with your special touches.
Hi I love the terrarium! I've been looking at terrariums but unfortunately I do not get enough light for plants in the winter. I was toying with the idea of creating a winter scene with bottle brush trees and fairy lights and repurpose it with real plants during the summer. Love yours!
Danielle that’s a beautiful piece turned out really nice ❤ thank you for sharing with us all ; after Christmas can’t wait to see where you place it 🙌🎄Karen from Port Macquarie NSW Australia 🇦🇺
Great job Danielle. The glass looks so shiny and clean! I too enjoyed learning the history of the Wardian case. I will checkout the book you mentioned. You preserved history in two ways; physically and through the storytelling about the case. Thanks for sharing. 🎶. Merry Christmas to you and your kin 🎶. 🎄
Such a tribute to your grandma! Would it help see the plants inside with a short string of fairy lights in the bottom? It looked dark from the video, so I could not make out the beautiful arrangements of the plants inside. But it might be very visible when you're actually in that room.
You did an awesome job on restoring your grandmother’s wardian case. This is the first I’ve heard about this. I really enjoy house plants, so this would be fun making one. I have a question about your watering the plants. How do you do this without getting everything wet?!?
What a beautiful piece and a nice tribute to your grandmother. She must be smiling! 😇 Since it is a meaningful piece of family history, do you think a tray added to the bottom would help preserve the bottom from moisture and water?
Love, love, love! What a beautiful memory of your Grandma you can cherish forever!

This is how the terrarium building addiction starts 😂😁 It turned out beautiful
I've never heard of "Wardian Case" until today! Thanks for the learning! The case is beautiful.
Danielle, you can add some fairy lights to make the arrangement more ChristmasY. ☺️ Loved what you did with that!

Fun! So glad that you honor your gramma's memory.
It turned out beautifully Danielle! What a wonderful way to remember your grandmother every time you look at it.
That's so beautiful, it's like a little shrine to your grandma. You could even add a flameless candle (if you wanted to) 💚
What a wonderful piece to have in your home!

Great project!!!💙 grandma's are the best.
Gorgeous! Great job! Some battery operated fairy lights would look beautiful inside as well.

This was so interesting! I'm so nervous to work with most things that are glass. Thanks for demystifying the use of these beautiful glass cases for us
I've never seen one of these before - what a treasure you have from your Grandma!!
That us so beautiful! 🌟
Oh how lovely. I have a huge one that I never know how to use it effectively, the trick is to stuff it full 😅 TY for the video.

Wow! That case is awesome! I have a small one my kids found at an antique store.
Love those cases!! Yours turned out great!!

That looks lovely. It would be great if you can figure out a way to have a light to highlight its beauty.
👍😊💜🏠
Sorry but Grace is the star of the show!
I have the exact Wardian case in its original condition purchased new about 20 years ago. I believe it’s a reproduction.
It is beautiful however the architecture is lost when it is not cream color
Beautiful!
Beautiful!!!
