It is so special even just seeing him perform at this point in his career without his glasses, seeing his eyes does have an impact - This is, as ever, beautiful. I recall reading him saying this song was about a woman being in love with him while he was in love (or infatuated) with a man - that he turned that situation into this gorgeous tune with such complexity is such a great example of how he felt the complexity of such emotions and was always so skillful at expressing those feelings through his art - right from the beginning of his career. And, I imagine is the reason I never just "hear" his music, I always, always feel it all as well. He was - and remains - one of a kind, the best kind ❤
thanks for this. I wonder... did he wear glasses because of his nerves, maybe his color blindness or what? regardless, definitely love seeing those beautiful eyes of his!!! I think this performance was right after he'd had the flu - when he was told to go to doctor which he didn't do - then of course a couple weeks later...hospital! So glad he fought back but will always wonder what happened that took him from then to December.... Such a loss!
When you get older youre eyes get sensitive and then its difficult to wear lenses and it’s nice to wear colored it doesn’t hurt youre eyes much less so now you know why

i think he had very sensitive eyes. It was related to the lighting and heat.
