I used to do photography on the side (also in the STL area) and looking to invest in a new kit. I usually do engagements, families, and pets. I've been eyeballing either the EOS RP or the EOS R. Do you think I would see a huge difference between the two or should I just settle with the RP. Or is there another option in the sub $1400 category that you think I should check out?
Intrigued with the R 7. I do corporate video for a living. Shoot with an XA 40 and an XA 25 as B-cam. I use an EOS R for interviews. I love the look from the Eos R with my 85 or 70-200. Not in the budget to go for a Cinema Cam, but wondering if the 7 would work?
All depends on what you want to do, it may be better to buy a matching eos r. The r7 would work but if the eos r is working, why not use 2? The AF would be better in the r7 though.
@@TonyMellinger it’s a known issue that canon publicly acknowledged. They just put out a firmware update to override the overheating issue by accepting the risk of damage by going over the cut off threshold for recording. You have to know this issue existed man
useful insights on the new r7 4k 30p capable camera.
Thanks for watching!

I think the RP is an excellent camera for the price. I’d go that route!
Are you using your new light? Your setup is sooooo much better
Yep! Using the Amaran!
Interesting that they have both inherited the R3 autofocus. Hopefully this will move to the R5/R6 so that eye tracking can be used in all focus modes.
Do you think they will release a firmware update for the eos-r and eos-rp?
I do not think they will.
@@TonyMellinger same. Those guys are as good as gone
I really hope they either increase or get rid of the video record limit on the R6....make it happen Canon
That would be cool. Idk if it’s a hardware thing or not 🤷🏼♂️
The M50 uses LP-E12 battery.
Oh ya! The even smaller ones!

You guys just be paid off by canon. R5 and R6 overheats like crazy
😅 don’t I wish. I haven’t had either of my cameras overheat on me. I must be doing something wrong 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️

@@PIPERBOYWILLIAMS Isn’t what this whole video is about?
Oh no! Ha I made a video about it. It’s still a very capable camera.
