R.i.p To the legend Mc Skibadee 🙏 K...a..n..to the O stood at the bar with a handful of dough! Even back then kano ripped it up BIGTIME this is pure fire 🔥 ive been requesting it on every channel so only right you guys responded. Nobody could have appreciated it better myguys! Respect and love from the uk 🇬🇧
That's THE OG MC Skibadee, the 3rd last freestyle on the track - he was the NUMBER 1 Drum n' Bass MC. He mentions it this freestyle Drum n'Bass is a purely unique UK sound that runs at 160 - 190 BPMs, has super fast breaks and heavy bass lines. If you can freestyle to Drum n' Bass you can rap to anything BUT not many can freestyle to Drum n' Bass!! Sadly he passed away recently at only 47 yrs old - his legendary freestyles at the BBC are something to really check out!
I am just buzzing you did this, all too often people forget the UK has had sick rappers since the 80's....there are so many gems throughout the decades.
Totally agree, Skinnyman, Chester P and later the likes of Jehst don't get nearly enough credit man, I'm glad it's not just me out here banging that drum. Chester P "Greatest story ever told" is a growing up in the UK classic and skinnyman whole album "council estate of mind" was way ahead of it's time.
Rodney P is one of the originators, part of the legendary London Posse crew from the late 80s/early 90s Widely regarded as the first group to rap in a UK accent - the stuff before that was purely mirroring the cadence of the US
It's Rodney P, Chester P, Kano, C-mone, Yungun, Sway, J2k, Swiss, Baby Blue, Skibadee, Luke Skys and MC D. You shouldn't sleep on Rodney P (The Future album), and Sway UK (This Is My Demo album).
Top reaction 👊🏻 Rodney P (Riddim Killa) is a Legend should defo check out some more of his stuff definitely doesnt get the recognition he deserves 🔥🔥🔥 RIP Skibadee DNB Legend also Love to see you guys react to some Drum N Bass 🙏❤
so many heros on this but I know you guys aint even scratched the surface with Sway Da Safo - he is legit one of the best punchline rappers to EVER do it in any country.... check him out, you wont be disappointed
This is right at the end of the golden era. You have absolute OGs like rodney P, Chester P and Yungun (Essa). Then you have the next generation like Kano and Swiss coming through. Like the track or not, it's pivotal in the progression of thr scene.
Not sure there was progression. The UK rap scene act like UKHH never existed and UK rappers didn't exist before 2015. 1xtra and other radio ignore UKHH. It's ridiculous considering how dope the spitters are in UKHH.
@@iwgp4nagata That's because it was before social media and streaming. Everything since then left a footprint. There are plenty of MCs to rival the golden era today. Yeah, a lot of the new stuff is not good, but then again, so was a lot of the old stuff. I love the golden era, but I am biased.
@@kieronimo1 it's more than that. Why is there even a scene called UK rap? They deliberately went out of there way to distance themselves from UKHH. It's not the only reason but I do feel UKHH gets ignored as the scene is seen as too 'white' to be urban. I mean you have high focus records putting out tracks produced by legends such as DJ Premier and they are totally ignored by radio stations which claim to play UK rap music. It's absurd!!!
@BeersBars no offense to your scoring system its your channel and you gotta do you ,but i feel this is where lesser known / underground artists will not see air time because you wont get the level of requests you would as for well established or trending artists and your missing out on a goldmine of music as yet uknown to you and a larger audience . Much love though guys
Appreciate you fam!!! Correct, we do calibrate the list sometimes, because if we air a lot of X-artist songs, they will automatically be requested more. We limit those to once a week. We definitely do feature a ton of smaller artists on the channel, and sometimes if they reach out to us personally and we feel it first the channel, we give them some airtime too.. + we have the beerfund which helps. We also have people that comment daily with requests, it takes a while, but they almost always get done 🍻
good react, but you missed so many places in there where they took the original syllable patterns and fitted new words to them, that was genius. btw, it was 79, i was 11, rappers delight dropped like a nuke it was everywhere
Another 🔥🔥🔥 reaction 💯 Ay Ay, you mandem are the truth, fi true, you get me! Big up yourselves man, from pecknam to 🍻 n BARS. C'mon 🔥 Don noe already 👊
Yo guys, if you like this you would deffo like Fix Up, Look Sharp by Dizzee Rascal and 21 Seconds by So Solid Crew! Both legendary UK tracks! 💥💥 Just putting ya on 😉 Keep em coming 💪
There’s a rapper that goes by sugar hill ddot from the Bronx , he is 14 I believe, ppl call him the hood Justin beiber, u should react to let ha go it’s drill rap I don’t believe you guys ever reacted to this type of music it’s the new wave in the Bronx lots of gangs making drill rap ,
Guys Nines dropped his first song a week ago after coming out called Tony soprano 2 its fire! And today he dropped a whole album might be a great introduction to you for to one of UK`s Street legends. His fire in the booths are Fire too.
@@BeersBars You can still give a genuine reaction, knowing the name of the artists on the track is really the first thing you should be knowing, not sat there guessing, come on guys, a scheduler NIGGA PLEASE! , so your blaming the scheduler for not telling you who the artists are. Well fuck the scheduler do your own research it's better for you if you wanna talk about being genuine, you might actually discover all the talented hip hop artists from the last 30+ years in the U.K. Your welcome again.
Check out 'Chester P The Greatest story ever told" a pure honest tune of growing up in Britain. An underrated classic IMO. Or check his beef with Wordsworth, a dis track where he records him apologising to Chester it's called"the bitches" if you like Chester P please check skinnyman and Jehst. The first two don't get nearly enough respect for what they done for the uk game. There would be no Giggs, Kano Akala etc without"Mud fam" Chester P and Skinnymans crew from the day's when black rappers were rapping in American accents FFS!!!

Wow this real old school, 2004. Done for the 25th anniversary of the original Rapper's Delight

The argument could be made for Smiley Culture but yeah, Rodney P definitely stamped that English sound down.
Rodney is my cousin. U.k originator!

Sway is a legend, try Road to Deliverance or his F64
I’d really recommend “the legacy” by Leaf Dog. A similar concept with different mc’s mostly from High Focus
I've got the legacy in the queue bro it's coming
