I also have a Fiat 500 from 2013 looking to upgrade and you just confirmed it for me. Driving around Cape Town is awesome in this little car, I love it!
I think the 500 had pretty much all the same issues through its looong (I guess not by FCA standards) run. Looks like they did improve the infotainment with the facelift, at least. The driver's side hood fitment on this particular one looks nothing short of catastrophic. My family had a pre-facelift one with the naturally aspirated 1.4 and a close ratio 6-speed manual. Boy was it satisfying to give it an Italian tune-up! However, nothing about the driving experience besides maybe the noise could be described as sporty. They're dirt cheap in the US, too. I would gladly own one if I needed a small city car on a budget.
Nice review! I've heard the two cylinders need thrashing to get going, so they're not as economical as even an ordinary four cylinder. I think it's a shame the new one is electric only.
Cute little car I currently have two 123 series mercs one coupe and one sedan. And a dog, surfboard forester. Think I need one of these as a daily. Thanks for the vid!!. PS that little 2 cylinder engine does make a pretty interesting noise.

I could listen to that South African accent all day 🤗

Fun fact. Every dealership says the car was previously owned by an Old Lady. Lol. Great car
All second hand cars were owned by old ladies. 😂
