- Zambian FM Kakubo Resigns After Getting Caught with Chinese Cash? | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Zambia's foreign Minister Stanley Kakubo has resigned from his post. This was after a video allegedly showed him taking thousands of dollars worth of cash from Chinese businessmen.
The Zambia-based Chinese businessmen apparently bought a mine from Kakubo for $200,000 and a Mercedes-Benz.
The minister was forced to resign after public outrage, but denies any wrongdoing.
Did the Chinese buyers leak the video in an act of revenge?
Palki Sharma tells you more.

As a Zambian i want to appreciate your research ethics Palki.. Kudos
Hope i agree with you-Good Job
There are two types of politicians in these countries. The ones that got caught and the ones that haven't.
"No one should be allowed to exploit a country for one Mercedes Benz" Absolutely brilliant!
😂🤣😂🤣🎯
Well said
@@evanyota5615 🎯
brilliant conclusion of the report and on point
@@raythetechguy4395 🎯👌
This has been better presented than our local news outlets, thank you Palki.
Corruptions and politicians...whats new???
Shame. Being a Zambian, I am not proud of this. These guys could be more corrupt than the previous guys. The previous guys showed off their character but the current ones are pretending to be angels. The pretenders are usually the most dangerous. I cry for my country
There is nothing like that my brother let's condemn corruption whether committed in public or privately. Let's condemn the act not the actor.
Am so impressed with your research team Palki, you always deliver.

As a Zambian proud of his Heritage,
I have to say it Boggs my mind how we boast of these natural recourses that we don't own as the Zambian people and whose resources we have hardly benefited from.
We are still the 4th most poorest country in the world with over 80%poverty rate. and all we here is discoveries of new mineral reserves and from there no one knows what happens.
makes no sense to me at all. It's shameful
Really heart breaking
You statistics of Zambia as being the 4th poorest country in the world is wrong
!100%... some people in power are always messing with the power given to take care of their people. The rot is with our own leaders.
@@everingtonmbuyisa8189 true but its still one of the poorest nation with rich natural resources
Zambia is an chinese colony.
I love Palki! And being Zambian, this more unbiased than our local medias 👏
How embarrassing and shameful
Not really, happens all the time in africa, India, America, Britain and south America.
@@TabsT-vy5jy.....You are right corruption is a common cancer among our leaders.
No. Nothing to be ashamed of. In South Africa my country they don't resign. They get rewarded by getting second terms. That your guy resigned, he should get more kudos for doing the honorable thing. 🇿🇦
The chinese businessman Fuukyou Chan wants his Benz and money back 😂
The resignation of the foreign minister, despite denying corruption allegations, adds an intriguing layer to the story, suggesting a potential rift between the minister and his Chinese partners.
Watching from Zambia 🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲
The real question is that how much money Zambian president got?
I have no doubts that the President chastised him for letting himself get recorded.
😂😂😂😂
They are all the same.
The Chinese businessman secretly records the transaction as collateral

Palki being able to pronounce Kakubo same way Zambians do😮 as for the corrupt ex-minister, we hope the president will come out clean on this one & allow for justice to prevail
Never.....
speaking of potential corruption.. your reporting is very rich in mind capturing. always glue people's attention to factual thursting.you are the definetion of the phrase " the world is the grobal village".
Old Chinese strategy
Corrupt the character through gifts
Corrupt the tongue 👅 with delicious food
Our beloved Africa, it's man for himself the rest die.

Hi Palki I like your balanced reporting on this copper mine scandal to the effect there is no concrete evidence to incriminate the Zambian Govt Minister. Keep up the good work
Brilliant report. Leaving no stone unturned
Thanks Palki…..very sad situation.
😢😢😢😢😢
Corruption & politicians nothing uncommon....most countries have same combination 🤦
Powerful introductions, keep reporting on the case.
Watching from zambia
This channel of palk shama is able in all angles. I like how they can research and avoid propaganda like other media ❤
Good research Palki ....thumbs up
This minister even had the courtesy to step down.
Over here in 9ja, the person will still hold on to the keys to the Benz and that of his/her ministerial office.
What is 9ja? In an international media 😢.
Talk about Vedanta in Zambia too and their dealings😅
I've always followed you and you're just great. Am from Zambia
I think president HH will respond and I am pretty sure this man was asked to resign. Such an embarrassing situation not shocking at all.
I would expect nothing less from the Chinese when acquiring influence in third world states.
Palki you are the best reporter ever!
Well reported, thank you!!
tough!
To all my fellow Zambians I say this: one day tukaiponona nama politicians misula shabo
There should be mob justice.cz resignation is nothing.
It's the fact that he is still a sitting MP despite all the evidence of corruption that boggles my mind.
Good reporting palki
Mr kamubo let's share that money, but very shame mwatusebanya and mwasebanya zambia.
What business gets stacks of cash? Why not a certified check??? Corruption!!!
Well the same things happening in Jamaica 🇯🇲
Not for a car but for you beautiful Palki we all should do everything.
This man made it to Palki Sharma's files. Its late for him😂
Zambia as resources to pay debt and still remain w
with endless riches but why are they still owing?
This man respect his country by taking responsibility of his action. It can't happen in Nigeria even on live video that politician will deny it and urge you to go to court.
When the followership is ignorant and unconcerned about national affairs, leadership most likely becomes abusive and takes advantage
Zambia has been giving away their resources for decades. Didn't they default on a loan and now China owns their ports and electricity?
I didn't heard this until now.
Bakakubo na musebana 😂😂😂😢 yangu mayo
Nah, some will exploit it for 2 Mercedes’ Benz. Sad.
Finally....
The same thing happened in Ghana and the question is did our leaders think of tomorrow or only their political issues and the pocket 🤔
He should be tried and if finned guilty, charged and put in prison
😂😂😂😂 who didn’t know it
Only one that got caught!!! Hundreds more unnoticed
This is common practice all over the world.
Him selling the mine was not a problem I feel his doom came when he tried to sell it again to another person now that's fraud
this is embarrassing the President is trying hard to end corruption at all cost .
I hope this can be true .
Another one bites the dusk!
That's so sad for my country
Amazing how politics work . If you are found stealing you resign 😂😂😂😂 While theives are send to jails politicians are made to resign
200,000 for a mine? What's the value of the mine? Zambia's government is known for selling mines for a tiny fraction of what they're worth
This is happening in all parts of Africa making our continent poorer and its population as well. Thanks to the 21st century technology.
A freaking car for a country natural resources, this is beyond stupidity. He better face some serious jail time
shame
Oh well, all of us in Southern Africa are suffering from these Chinese and some greedy politicians. How can one man want to buy a 200k car 😂
Mines should belong to the country/government where it's not any individual
Why is it even called luxury? It was a 2018 used Mercedes Benz. It’s really sad
That merc and money should be returned and the Chinese company expelled from the country
What a sad shame
Who was recording?
♦️The Chinese guy was recording in order to keep the record of the whole transaction.
No one knows who leaked the video.
Mmm boss's
How about for a BMW?
Imingalato kkkkk
This is sweet to HH how can IMF give you kaloba ?
They will blackmail if you stand for truth
The people of Zambia safe
marzedeze benz givte
The FM should be careful. He should return the Chinese money and Mercedes, otherwise the Chinese will bump him off. They don't take being deceived lightly.
In Malawi the vice president is on court bail and attending to court proceedings but is still working as vice president of Malawi attending to government functions together with the president. This is how rotten Africa is becoming.
a lot of conjecture here. not indicative of a top news outlet ... at all
It can't happen in Malawi but those raising that complaint will be arrest
I don't know why Nigeria alone is labeled the most corrupt country in the world.
Anddddd this is why africa is the way it is lol
all can be puurcchased by money..
The man sold his mine.😅😂
African will never change
Selling a mine for US$200k + a Mercedes Benz?? What the hell???😮
It should be a mine license! Its so sad for our nation and this could just be a 0.02% of what this government could be doing.
Wonder how she would report about India corruption.
How can one person own resources that belongs to nation corruption i condem that is why young Africa can't sleep such act should not be tolerate

Oh the shortsightedness and greed of many African politicians!
These Chinese should also be arrested for trying to cheat in order to get mine.

Our president was found with $500k under his matress, but nothing was done about it
