I bought a 14L5 in excellent condition about a year ago for $150 bucks. It came from a video production studio and the guy wasn’t aware of the interest in monitors like this being used for retro gaming. I guess those type of deals are few and far between nowadays.
Nice find, Steve! If you do end up restoring a 20L5 (or comparable 20" multiformat monitor) that you aren't going to hang onto, I'd be willing to pay a generous price! They're getting harder and harder to find. Of course, I'll keep an eye on your RUclips channel as well. 😁
Love my little 14L5. Great unit! Still looking for that 20L5 :) My 14L5 has a small scuff in the screen most likely in the anti glare film. How should I clean the screen with the anti glare film on? Or should I just peel it off?
I had one of this but one day the image was full of static with no color, even when the color adjustments in the cathode tube worked fine. If the image was too bright the screen would bend/ distort. I don't know what was wrong with it and throw it away. Do you know what was the problem with that? After stumbling with this video I want to get to the truth behind my loved monitor. Thanks and nice video!

Wow, you stole that. I love seeing a simple fix make a huge difference.

Super awesome video! Was the screen unscratched under the antiglare sheet?
Yes, completely scratch free under the layer. Thanks
Sweet deal man!
I bought a fully functional monitor though with no flaws really what so ever
