Thanks for the video David. I am looking forward to an all electric Renault Trafic. This is always a messy job. I wish the engineers had designed the filter position like the Volkswagen Caddy engine where you take the filter out from the top and the oil drains into the sump as soon as you release it. I have 2014 Renault Trafic LWB van which I converted into a "Touring Van". You have a new subscriber.
Thanks for the video David. I did an oil change after the warranty ran out and could not unscrew the oil filter. I have been searching for a metal housing for the oil filter but could not find one. I will have to destroy the plastic one to get it off. I am using the correct socket but no go. It keeps slipping. You have a new subscriber.
Thanks, I will try with my 2016 Vauxhall Vivaro. I bought on ebay the Vauxhall vivaro tool sump plug key and Bosch Oil Filter 2014-20 P7125, I have a socket set which should go up to 27 mil. I find a shop nearby for the 5W30 Engine Oil 5 Litre
See the inner wheel! This van drives on carpet or I need to watch more videos, or both. 7:14, Rewind! 5:48 It's the whole under-body! I want my van looking like this
Annoying when people say the type of oil is 5w 30 or even 15w 30 lol the more important part is the ACEA noticed yours was ACEA C3 which is recommended for my traffic. I believe the 5 is the viscosity at colder temperatures hence W means Winter the next number 30 is viscosity at higher temperatures say running temperatures. So colder climate a 5W30 would be better then 10W. For an older engine that may be a bit noisy try a 10w50 if live in warmer climate and your engine manufacturer says it's ok. The ACEA number is more important. IMHO
Thanks David, very insightful. I would be interested in the way to dispose of the oil as well. Does anybody use high pressure air from the oil filler neck to blowout” the last bits of oil?
You could use brake cleaner i just wipe down with a cloth, if you power wash it can go into the electrical bits and over the windscreen a right pain to get off, cheers Dave
Great video, thank you. Is there any value in keeping the sump open (and having two buckets obviously) when you take the filter out? I would have thought flushing with some clean oil at that point might be worthwhile.
Hi Antoine, thats great FB, the tool is listed on ebay, the item number:201818107481 = £4.49 inc del or eBay item number:192052229748 = £4.49 inc del (same tool) just type the item number in the search and it will pop up. thanks again cheers Dave
Thanks for the video. My vehicle is a 2014 Renault Trafic LWB van. I tried this but could not get the oil filter off. It is so tight that I can't remove it with any of my spanners. I would like to buy a metal filter housing but can't find one. Does anyone know if a metal filter housing is available somewhere?
Thanks, I would not recommend any thing another then the original, yes they can be tight to get off sometimes, you will not get it off with a spanner, it will need to be a socket, as the vid i use 1/2 inch drive. It will come off as its only plastic with a rubber seal, thanks again Dave
@@CarlMarx Since when? we would never ever charge any customer for 1.9lt diesel oil and filter more than 75quid for the 2.0lt top 100quid total and thats all. Where exactly on earth and based on what KIND of maths you get 150quid worth of savings? Do not be a joke mate seriously unless your garages around your area are all rapists! Just bought a 2011 sportive and everything to service it, brilliant video I think I'm gonna do it myself now rather than pay someone.. Many thanks

Yes I normally do that and run about a cup full through the engine, thanks for the feedback 👍
Thanks David, very helpful. One question what sized sump tool do I need? All the best

Hi, Could you kindly advise where to locate the battery on a 2007 Sportive Vivaro model ?
LLOYD BEDASSIE under the passenger footwell
Lift the rubber matting on the passenger side of the vehicle, then remove the metal panel and the battery in under that 😀
All this hussle for what? Put 40 quid in your pockets and loose a stamp on service book? Really? Are you serious?
Shut up wog. His choice to do it
Here it's a lot more than 40 GBP, more like 100-150
