I often sit back and try to imagine how hard it must have been to draft up and engineer even some if the older figures. Especially the older figures before computer modeling was a thing. I still gotta grab this guy. I actually like its transformation. I'd rather have a figure that tucks parts away under the armor etc. than some of the figures that are like one whole piece that just twists, turns, and done.... if you know what I mean. Tends to rob the detail away.

Honestly I had Ultra Magnus as a kid the original no joke and after awhile it just wouldn't fit into the Separate Piece. Don't get me wrong it was well-made way better than the ones they make now but these right here seem to take from the old G ones an upgrade it. Now if it was just metal Parts like they used to do for the Dinobots Etc

They certainly learned from experience. A long time ago, someone made the original Ultra Magnus toy. Then the cartoon distorted him. Then later on, someone decided, "You know, I think we could actually make the toy look like the cartoon portrayal, if we add a lot of things to it and make it more complex."
I remember getting Optimus and Magnus when the 'Transformers fusion' toys came out, one of my friends broke Magnus, and i hit him with a brick at school the next day. Ah, my youth, where did it go? oh right. Taxes.
Nice video transformation. This Magnus nice but I hope they make an upgraded 2.0 version. The lower legs are very bulky and so is the upper shoulders. I wish a 3rd party can upgrade and engineer one like FT Roadking. 👍🏻

Im surprised over how elegant the model is, looks simple and even if there are plenty of movable parts it becomes almost identical to the G1 toy.
