I was born in Wales, lived there all my life until I was 30. Then moved to the grand Rocky Mountains. But nothing compares to my memories of camping in the Brecon Beacons, even on my own! with freinds, family,.. endless days of memories.. this vid makes me ache for it all back. You can keep your bears and potential wild animal attacks in the Rockies, Wales rules, its just beyond words, the peace and the connection to the land will always bring me back.
Beautiful slides of a beautiful country. As an American, my family came from Wales in the 18th century. We began with two brothers who landed in Massachusetts from Wales. My Welsh forebearers eventually migrated through the Southern U.S. I will visit Wales soon.
This was a very rich pictorial-(my father was from Wales) and one of my favorite pieces of Celtic music. A very beautiful creation, and the Shakespeare verse at the end sent shivers up my spine. Thank you!
That was beautiful!! So gorgeous and serene!! I loved it!! Makes you realise how, not only do we take it for granted ,but how often do we ever stop and take the time to really absorb its full beauty! The traversty is,that the majority of people living in Wales today, haven't forgotten how beautiful Wales is,or how lucky we are to live here,.. No, its that they've never known!! How truly sad is that!!
Moved from Wales 2 Canadian Rockies. As amazing as it is, U know it.. I miss Wales like crazy. Watchin this, just breakin my heart in 2. Wales will always be home, no matter how long I last here. Forgive me for abandoning you, my lovely dear homeland - Wales. I always felt so alive there, yet restless to explore the world. Now I know how much of the world there is in Wales. Its all there, the spirit of nature,.. absolutely wonderfull. Love U & miss every square inch of U, esp the Gower, damn!
Your video was beautiful and magical. I am planning to visit Wales next year and your video has only served to inspire me more. Thank you, for your lovely gift of images.
How wonderful to see this video that captures the beauty of my country. I am so proud to think I live here. You are very welcome in our hillsides, Bronwen. I hope you return soon. I will be visiting California soon as my sis. has emigrated there.
I know how you feel. I've only been to Wales the one time, but it felt exactly like coming home. No other place in the world has ever felt so "familiar", nor can I recall feeling as whole and complete anywhere else that I have been. I can't wait to get back!
best u tube video i have seen you have done a great job i am going to wales aug 2009 now i cant wait to go after seeing this well done thankyou. Mary Sydney australia
Stunning, thank you for posting this, I am part Welsh,Watkins, The Watkins started the First Presbyterian Church in the State of Texas and fought Indians with Sam Houston since he was a next door neighbor.I long to return...
Diolch yn fawr! Thank you for sharing this.. it is St David's Day today and as I live in England and have done over half my life... I have been indulging in all manner of things to enjoy my Welshness tonight here on RUclips. This was my last sweet treat before getting back to the mundane chores of life like putting out the rubbish for tomorrow! :-) Nos da
Thank YOU for your kind remarks! It was almost as much of a pleasure to make this video as it was to walk the hills of Wales. I can hardly wait to get back!!! As for myself, I live in sunny southern California, in the hills north of Los Angeles, but I have Welsh ancestry, and my name is Welsh, too.
This is a beautiful video and I am so sorry you disabled embedding. I was born in Wales and had been hunting for a good video to share with friends in the U.S.A. This would have been perfect. I so enjoyed it.
I live in England and occasionally visit Wales. I take my kids aswell. It's good because I love that game they have for the kids on the motorway signs, where underneath the place names there's a scrambled-up word for the kids to try and work out
Yep! I loved Llangollen! Castell Dinas Bran was one of the highlights of the trip. One of these days I hope to make it to the music festival held in Llangollen - I've heard wonderful things about it! B
I really want to go to Wales! I've always liked this country! The people seems so nice and you should get independence if you want to! Cymru for the win! Greetings from Sweden!
gorgeous land. great soundtrack. my great great great...etc ancestors ..the family of nathaniel wales emigrated to america...arrived on a board shortly after the mayflower. settled in new england. worked their way to PA ...where my family ancestors are from. i named my band after the dirt road that led to my parents dairy farm...Wales Road.
Not a shabby way to go through life bronwen42... A new place to explore around every corner, an impeccable camera eye and excellent taste in music. I give it 5 stars for the whole package and vibe and subscribe to more of your adventures!
Enchanting! Good to be reminded that the United Kingdom has some of the most wonderful countryside and heritage sites in the world, and it's all on our doorstep! Too bad we are keener to go to Spain etc for our holidays!!
I just randomly came across this video;I have to admit that I am deeply impressed by the beauty of your country side !! Anyways: Best greetings from Germany.....
Thanks, Matt! I had an extremely hard time leaving Wales, and I can't describe how much I want to go back. Talk about a resolution for 2007!!! Iechyd da! (That's Welsh for "Cheers!")
Beautiful video. I'm glad to see Wales still is so beautiful. I toured through South Wales many long years ago but didn't have time to visit up North. Maybe next year...or the next after...when I brush up on my Welsh. At a minimum I like to pronounce the names of towns right when I ask directions...;)
well in Australia right above where i live is the major state called New South Wales. Never realized in my entire life that they named it after such a beautiful country.
Thank you so much for this amazing video of my amazing country. I'm so proud to be welsh and I am so glad that there are people who aren't welsh who love it as much as I do. Thanks again. By the way where are u from?
I'm a Canadian who's never been to Wales, but I thought I'd share this anyway. I was at an Irish bar here in downtown Montreal when I had to take a leak. Standing before the urinal, I looked to my right at the wall. Somebody had carved into it: 'Cymru #1"
Ummm well wales at night is soo buitifull the glow od the sun on the clouds its just soo nice i just live in the north of wales in conway county go to snowdonia national park its really nice :)
I would wanna live in wales , I like the langauge. It sounds like something off of "Lord of the rings" or something. It's a cool langauge and wales has the best throughout of the british isles! I'm from America. I may end up using my vacation days to go there one day.
Gotta say I think North Wales is an even better looking area than South but all Wales is beautiful. Love the character in the North though. Cymru am byth:)
ive lived in wales all my life (im 16 lol) and its the most beutifull country on earth, scotland is amazing but if your in wales theres something about it which just makes it better i live in bae colwyn right on the north coast and if u take like 30 mins by car southwards then the veiws are so amazing. rydw in cytino mae cymru yn del iawn, cymru am byth!!! mae llawer o pobl saesneg!
Well, the Welsh came from Spain and Portugal originally. I've only been through North Spain but love it, especially Galicia. Of course it rains in Wales more though, but yes most of Wales is very green and pretty.
LOL You obviously didn't stay through the credits! ;-) It's called "The Lamentation of Turlough O'Carolan" performed by John Doan on one of the Hearts of Space albums. I have to admit, though, I felt rather sheepish using music composed by an Irish harpist to go along with my photos from Wales. But the music matched the essence of feeling for that trip so well that I didn't really have a choice. Enjoy!

Thank you ever so much for your glowing comments. I try to capture the essence of my own personal experience in each video. FYI, my next adventure is to go back to the UK to walk along Hadrian's Wall and explore the Roman ruins between Carlisle and Newcastle. I should have new goodies to post some time in late August/early September. B.
I wish I knew what area of Wales this is, north or south. I was born there and lived there until I was four. Have returned several times. Would have loved to remain there.
i live in california and im part scottih but when i first went to scottland and walse i felt like i was at home like an emtyness i me was filled..one day i hope to live in walse or scotland
@CYMRUTUBE2 i think you misunderstood................if you roll the welsh hills flat, then it is as big as texas, it is a hypothethical mathematical idea, but the point is steep valleys offer more land than flat plains over the same 'as the crow flies' distance
Blush!!! I listened to the end, but had started to read the comments and missed the credits completely...Sorry. Thank you for answering though! That way you just got another click ;-) Now I have seen them too. Mary
Strange language you speak in Wales! An old celtic language isn´t it? Very nice landscape, the best in britain I think! Scotland´s nice too! I´m from Sweden! Och vi har snyggare tjejer än på de brittiska öarna!
me again meant to add that you mentioned llanthony priory(30secs) but just wanted to say that the other religious structure is Tintern Abbey (32 secs, 3:22,) on the Wye Valley between Monmouth and Chepstow. Anyway, ty once again :0)
nice video but there are even nicer pictures of wales that you could of put in. for example the snowdonian range that area has some epic scenery, im Welsh and i live in North wales and i live close to moel fammau of the clywdian range its so beuituful there come and see for urselfs its gret :)
Yea I noticed ur name lol. I'm really glad u enjoyed Wales. Did u visit Swansea? If you didn't u missed a lot lol (I love swansea being a swansea boy) no biased what so ever lol. HeY man!! My family is from Wales, which is cool for me, I want to go there. but I dont know anyone from around here or there, any Welsh peoples up for the night? Any true Clarks??
The photos used in this video are all images that I took myself. Unfortunately I have only been to Wales the one time, and given the 5000-mile commute from my house I don't know when I will get back to explore more of its wonders. Rest assured, when I do make it back to Wales I will create another video with photos taken on that trip. Bronwen
Wales is the best location for a large number of activities, the caving, horse riding and coasteering, thank you for the upload.

Wow! This is absolutely beautiful. I would love to visit Wales.
I couldn't agree more! I've never felt so welcomed and at home in any other country. The Welsh REALLY know the meaning of the word "hospitality"! :)

I grew up in Llangollen, tis a great place.
I knew many of the places shown on this video , but there are many more that are much more beautiful than that close by .
Beautiful. Reminds me of N.E. Tennessee, except a bit more tranquil and mysterious with the old architecture.
i was there 3 years ago... Wales is like Sardinia in Italy (my country)
AMAZING Gwlad!
Beautiful Country, love the country side =]
You can take the boy out of the valley.....but you can't take the valley outta the boy !
Best wishes from an Ystrad boy in Denmark !
