I mix two cups distilled water with two cups Epsom salt. Stir over low heat just enough to thoroughly dissolve the salt.
Put mixture into a glass spray bottle. Use on skin as needed.
Raise or lower water amount according to your skin sensitivity.

I agree that many people who start and even go keto/lowcarb do not take electrolytes into account. Potassium, magnesium, sodium, chloride, calcium, phosporus. Any imbalance will result in the keto flu or heart, blood pressure, energy, mood, sleep, muscle contraction issues. Best mag to take orally is liquid nano mag. Epsom salt, mag sulfate is the cheapest and best option for topical use. Most people also do not eat enough salt due to fear of salt being engrained in us.

I love the stuff. Regarding electrolytes, I didn't realise it for a long time, but I was suffering from low blood sodium when I started keto. I started to take large quantities of pink salt, and the difference is like night and day. Within minutes I feel stronger, calm and grounded.

This was really helpful. My mother is 80, type 2 diabetic who had a section of her small intestine removed due to sepsis around 60 years ago. Consequently, taking Magnesium supplements causes diarrhea in any meaningful dose. She recently tested low for her vitamin D despite her taking 10k IU daily with K2. Low Magnesium could be the culprit to her vitamin D absorption, so I have her soaking her feet a few days a week in Epsom salts to see if it will help. A bath would be better, but she can't get in and out of a tub on her own.

Not sure from your comment if your mom takes D3 and K2 together at the same time. So here on YT a while back (and then did some reading on line) I watched a couple videos that said not to take D and K2 at the same time...D during morning hours and K2 closer to night time. I have taken D3 for years and always had test results on the lower side...D3 competes with other supplements for absorption, K2 appears to be one of them.
      Just a thought.

I have heard bath recipes including epsom salt, 1/2 cup baking soda, and some lavender essential oil. What are your thoughts on the baking soda? I got pregnant at the age of 43 and was doing great up to my 7th month. Then my body switched gears and I had gestational diabetes AND preeclampsia. The day I was diagnosed, I went to the hospital and they couldn’t get my blood pressure to come down. So, I had my baby that night. They had magnesium sulfate IV in me and I became like I was drunk. I was slurring and I couldn’t stand up at all to go to the bathroom. I couldn’t even control my hand enough to eat or drink, it was scary! I told the nurse and she told the doctor who changed the amount of magnesium sulfate I was getting. It was a horrible experience for me. @@rnarzu I believe magnesium sulfate is the same thing as Epsom salts. I’m living proof that you CAN get too much magnesium sulfate. I think they gave me so much because they were worried that I could have a stroke or heart attack from such a high blood pressure as it was. It was definitely very scary. One time when a nurse took my blood pressure, she literally ran to grab the right medicine filled syringe from the cart and ran back to me, inserting the syringe into the valve thing connected to my arm, she let out a sigh as she pushed the plunger of the syringe. I don’t know what it was, but apparently was what I needed. I did some serious praying. Praise God, He pulled me through.

In another video, "Keto Diet and Sleep: Where Does Magnesium Fit In?", you mention everyone is low on magnesium and should take more magnesium. I learned this long before I started following you and doing a strict keto diet. But, I've never seen you talk about one particular form of magnesium. No form of magnesium can touch Magnesium Malate. It's hard to find. Why? Because it's so effective, and that seems like a no-no in this world. The difference is availability or being absorbed and used by the body. I know, these are common buzz words, or concepts used by the supplement industry. But, just try it. Just look into it. You are helping so many people, Dr Boz. And you're so open minded and do so much research. Please find out about this superior form of magnesium.

A nurse gave me 2 effervescent tablets of magnesium, and in 15 mins, my thirst settled.??? I dont understand what happened?

Dr. Boz I followed the suggestion of dr. William Davis on the magnesium. For the life of me I cannot find any milk of magnesia in the store that does not have sodium hypochlorite which is basically bleach. Eventually ordered magnesium hydroxide off the internet. What's up with the Sodium hypochlorite?

@@ruthalexander2983 dr. William Davis the guy who wrote the book Wheat Belly has a concoction that he recommended and it requires milk of magnesia. He recommends the unflavored original brand that has no sodium hypochlorite. I looked everywhere in local stores and could not find one single bottle that did not have sodium hypochlorite. I know for a fact that sodium hypochlorite is the chemical name for Bleach. I had to buy a bag of magnesium hydroxide powder on a website. I'm not sure what the toxicity level is but dr. Davis specifically says to get the brand without it. I would rather use the milk of magnesia. Please let me know if you find a source. A lot of this information is on The Cutting Edge and you really have to dig deep to research what's good and what's bad. I'm hoping dr.boz will send back a message and and tell me that she thinks it's okay to consume this milk of magnesia. Good luck.👍
