*** WARNING *** Penn Fathom and Squall star drags (left-hand models only): The cog screw that holds the handle in place is NOT reverse threaded, and I believe it is a design flaw. What this means is, when there's weight on the drag and you start cranking in a heavy fish, you will actually be unscrewing your handle! Oh, that small retainer screw next to the cog to keep it from moving? Doesn't work. Once the the cog has any play in it, the retaining screw no longer does it's job, allowing the cog to turn loose and your handle to come off. Penn can fix this if they (1) reverse thread the cog screw, (2) Put a plastic or metal "yoke" to hold both the cog and retaining screw. Look at Abu Garcia conventional reel handles or older Penn handles for an example.
I caught two bluefin 40 pounds on sg last week

Would you recommend a penn fathom or saltist 40h or a avett mx 6/4 twospeed
@@alexisrodriguez408 Mainly for what kind of fishing?
We have not experienced this, can you send us a video of it happening?
@@SaltwaterEdge Returned it already
Hiw about a bait caster for surf casting...10' or longer rod.
The avet MC reels are smooth as glass. Just a touch above the budget for the singles, but the two speeds can be found used well under 300.
How many pounds of drag does SGN have?
Max drag on the SGN is 30lbs
@@SaltwaterEdge price is also $400 now. company seems off
