Brilliant work Richard. When you were at your gaol, you said you'd seen a grey misty figure that you expected to see again and I wonder...did you ever see it again? X
That's crazy that. I was thinking when watching, I would like to see the guy who fitted the lights down in them cellars, then you speak of how he seen a friar! Top video Richard👍
Ive probably shared this story before but I cant remember so ill write it again. My grandfather was a very straight up man. He was the most honest and 'normal' man ive known. Born in 1921 he was an officer in the Navy in the war and a manager for Feranti in Bracknell in the 50's to 80's. In 1974 my mum (his daughter) and Dad was living in a house in Stanley Common (I was born in Ilkeston hospital in 75) near Derby. They/we lived in an old tobacco shop. There are many stories about the strangeness of that building but they are all open to question and doubtful in some way EXCEPT for what my grandfather said. One saturday he walked into the house with his key and as he entered he looked up at the stairs and saw a small boy of about 6 years old in his school uniform. The boy didnt seem to see my grandfather and he casually walked down the stairs towards him. As the boy was about to reach the bottom and basically come right up to my grandfather and as my grandfather opened his mouth to speak to the boy, he disappeared. Just vanished in front of grandads eyes. My mum and sister had their own stories to tell but the only one I 100% believe is my grandfathers experience. I feel like I saw a ghost in Reading Berks once too but that is another story.
The black friar ended their drinking session and played domino's with them ,and then departed them, and returned to whence he came ,boy oh boy, dropped his tools and ran from the cellar, also I liked the vertical seated dead story, while you sit on a wall you would never know ,thank you Richard for all your decades of amazing research boy what a storyteller you are ,excellent to hear these again on this modern day you tube.excellent proof of recorded in stone as black smith building relocated, also st. Fagans Here in wales has many relocated buildings from many areas ,so that would be an excellent research venue for stone tape theory.
8:25 "Down Among The Dead Men"..... good title for a song! I'll get Harry Vanda and George Young to write and record it. Oh wait, they've already done so! And George died last year so I guess his ghost could give a *spirited* performance! LOL😁
I was surprised that you said that Ryan's was haunted. In the 90s, it was the Green Man. I lived and worked there, but I never felt any presence there. I am sensitive to those things, but nothing at all. I was in and out of the rooms and the cellar of the pub, the only spirits there were the ones behind the bar.
I think it is also very haunted, the story of the young electrician who witnessed the ghosts of Roman soldiers marching through the basement area where he was working! That just gave me the heebie-jeebies!
I think it is very hard to show a ghost. As i think it is in your perception. You can show what a ghost does or has done but seeing it doing it is harder. Richard.
Great video Richard
Really enjoying the scary ghost stories - sad about the baby! Shall look forward to these at Halloween.👻😱

Richard
When I was watching the condemned cell video before you even mentioned it I was drawn to the right of the screen.

Screams in St Peter’s churchyard? Likely the smackheads and drunks
More than likely.
There are so many tormented souls on St Peter's St. I mean live ones.
Richard.

I thought York was the most haunted city in England.

That just gave me the heebie-jeebies!
I thought London
Derby is one big ghost town lifeless.
Used to be, seems to be livening up a bit now with the new developments that are going on in the city centre.
Is it safe? Noticing comments here about smack heads and drunks. This video was making me consider a spooky weekend there, but not if it’s dangerous.
No rich it york surely
Why do these ghost so-called hunters always talk about ghosts but never show any, viewers want to see so-called ghosts not hear talk of them?

richard is a great story teller but all that execution stuff is messed up he seems to be a bit strange at times
I don't think he was the executioner, idiot
Why do people always see a white lady? Why can't there be a lady in green, purple or red? Be original.
A drag queen, perhaps?
