Dude, those carpentry skills are on point. I was just mesmerized watching the sequence from 37:10 to about the 40-min mark. I get so used to watching those homesteading videos of city dwellers escaping to the country and having to pick up the building skills along the way. I suppose that comparatively your "hard-mode" is the logistics of moving materiel. I really loved this episode and appreciate all your hard work capturing the build.

Fyi solar pro tip - the solar panel tilt should match your latitude. So equator is at zero degrees and then the more north you go the more your solar panel should be tilted. Your panel should face south. No need to move it around during the day. This will improve your solar output a noticeable amount.

You’re living the dream my brother! My family and I purchased 80 acres here in Northern Michigan 15 years ago and started building a fully off grid cabin for deer camp and family recreation. It’s fully outfitted with solar, wood burner, hand pumped well, outdoor shower and outhouse……guess what we’re still working and improving on it. It never ends!

A family friend here on the east coast has bought, worked, lived on, then sold land from the early 90's until just recently. He sold his last piece of land and cabin he's lived at for the last 15 years and moved into a family members' basement , age is catching up with him.
