  • Massage guns are all the rage in the DIY/at-home health and healing community. In the last year, we've seen tons of companies develop their own versions of the massage gun. But with their growing popularity, most people still don't completely understand why these percussive instruments even work. Using your massage gun mindfully is having an understanding of what muscles need to be RELEASED and which need to be SIMULATED or ACTIVATED. Using it in the proper direction for the proper muscle is key to seeing a long-term improvement (and not just a short-term relief). Discover the two general rules for using a massage gun and, more specifically, my favorite way to use it on IT Band Syndrome and RUNNER'S KNEE!

    Thanks so much for these videos. They are super helpful! One thing that would aid my learning would be if you could provide a still diagram of the direction to go for each muscle so I can use it for reference as I try it myself. Thanks for considering that! If you do already have them elsewhere, can you point me in the direction? Thank you again!

Almost entirely. after it crackling my ENTIRE LIFE getting worse til a workout injury a year ago, when it began to badly pop on every stair and squat down. now it feels amazing and loose. as if for 22 years my quads just needed a damn massage to get the knots out. Is this also useful for tight knee ligaments that cause creaking? This does reduce the creaking but doesn’t make it go away, so I’m wondering if a different pair of inhibition/facilitation should be tried. Thanks!

    I've injured my inner side of my knee, so when I pivot or side step off it I feel it. Had a scan and nothing is broken and I can walk fine it's just those movements. Would you recommend I shorten that area with a massage gun ( from bottom to top) from my calves to my thighs?

    • @abale1729
      @abale1729 2 месяца назад

      Sounds more like a ligament strain. Massage it while doing lots of varied movement should help.

    I've self diagnosed myself with it band syndrome. I wouldn't call it pain but I have burning in my lateral knee pretty much where the it band connects. It only happens when I have my knee in certain positions. Do you think this is it band syndrome or could it be nerve related? I did have meniscus surgery about 10 years ago and this has only been happening for about 3 weeks

    Hi! I've been a runner for 10+ years with knie pain in the last two years. I've started using a massage gun recently and what I experienced was that it made my calves really really tight, like I could even walk on the next two days. I've haven't had this problem elsewhere, only in my calves, regardless if I've run before it or not. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

      For anyone reading this with a similar problem. My leg is completely healed now! I used the same technique in the video and used Magnesium spray (sprayable magnesium supplement) to relax and feed the muscle. Two days and I’m healed and functioning like normal again!
